this mod is making the soulfire craters constantly spawn inside each other so essentially filling the game with hundreds of decals in 1 spot. you need to remove this because its making things unplayable

when a warrior priest uses soulfire it completely destroys the game to look at the ground in that area, FPS can drop to 1. you need to remove what ever the crater soulfire makes because its making certain fights utterly unplayable

It would be great to know when these crashes occur.... at the moment the battle is loaded and the unit deployment starts - or during battles? And if the author isn't interested, maybe some tech guru subscribed to this can figure out a fix...

I'll use "less bufff vfx" with it when I try, thanks @Kentathor. Love that mod (it removes unnecessary and sometimes distracting and/or cheesy-looking effects displayed on units to illustrate buffs/debuffs).

Would be lovely to use this with the mod duo Campaign Weather + Battle Weather (both by the same author), I believe @Kentathor reported issues below in the comments

I wonder if all issues reported could be related to PCs running near 100%?

@goatlegs It works better with the mods "less buff vfx" and another called performance maker for huge battles. But yeah, it doesn't even take THAT much of a hit on performance for good rigs.
If CA themselves added the option it would at worst lead to stuttering and slowdowns.

This mod has been great, to the point that I use it even though it crashes the game 1/4 of battles. I truly hope it can be updated. This should be incorporated into the base game as an option really, its crazy CA decided not to give this as an option. I want my battlefield scarred!

I'm pretty sure this mod could find >10K subscribers with a 6.0 update - and if it was compatible with at least one of the 2 popular battle weather mods, ideally... <3

Maybe someone from the community could try follow @Kentathor & others' reports below and see if they can implement a fix? Sadly this is above my tech capabilities

Will this get updated for 6.0?

Maybe it already is compatible with the new mod named "Battle Weather Overhaul" by John Matrix (if it isn't already, and to avoid having to make changes for "Campaign Weather Overhaul" which seems to have an incompatiblity... See comments below mine where people reported this <3

I said the opposite at least and more people have also stated that it causes problems.

But that has nothing to do with the latest update. If you are using other visual mods or script-heavy ones this will take a toll. Constant crashes for me at least.

so far its fine, but my question is, is the smoke from rockets and stuff supposed to stay like in the pictures? when I use this mod spell effects on the ground like comet and its smoke stays but rocket smoke does not stay like what the picture shows. is that the way its supposed to be or no?

@Alastor The mod is buggy, you can test it but it might(probably) cause instability and crashes.I would advise you to not use it on an ongoing campaign.

how do I know if the mod is fully working? does the smoke stay fully on the spot like in the pictures?

Dear author, are you considering to make this mod compatible with the Campaign Weather Overhaul mod (which seems to be the main request)? Would you also consider fixing that it seems to strangely affect certain shooting animations - obvs a WAY more "niche" problem. 3 cases are pointed out in the comments. Maybe you discover a pattern to stop most shooting animations to be similarly affacted? <3

I understand that you probably thought this won't need an update ever; just trying to find out whether you intend to look into it or not, should you find the time <3

@all As long as the Weather Overhaul isn't used, this mod is absolutely playable (Empire & Chorf & Tzeentch players should read comments for smaller issues)

This mod is not compatible with the Campaign Weather Overhaul mod at the moment. The rain and snow will dart around in every direction like little rockets. Please update. :health:

This seems to reverse the Ka'dai destroyer's fireball attack. Fireball fx shoots out it's back, but the damage still happens in front.

I wonder if a middle ground can be achieved? So how about allowing them to fade over 10 min intervals? So that way, they still stack on top of each other but not forever, thus, gradually the older ones fade out over time effectively helping FPS?

Most battles I face dont last longer than 15 mins besides proper siege battles, so it would be an interesting consideration.

This mod seems to crash my game, no fps drop or anything and with different mods enabled. It just freezes and crashes. Too bad since it's a great mod otherwise.

I know it's an engine thing but this flickering blood is giving me brain cancer, it's one of the main reasons I dont use blood, rest of the effects 10/10 tho

Can confirm on warpfire throwers shooting massive circles into the sky. The shots DO connect with whatever they were actually aiming originally at however, but visually they're just swinging their guns in circles to shoot at the sky. So it seems to purely be a VFX issue.

would be a lot better iff you made only ground decals stay longer like creaters and burns on the ground not smoke and other clutter FX, and makde the decals stay for 2-3 minutes so that you dont render any PC useless after 15 minutes in battle

Really nice Idea but the Engine limitations are just too big. Literally get 30 fps or lower when zooming on some of the blood splatters with a 4090

Gave me 30 FPS on a 4090. Tomb King catapults effect look silly and glow.

I'm curious if this will have any performance issues on the computer, considering that TWW's original VFX stacking bug already causes the performance issues sometimes during battles.

And it seems like there is a limit to the number of VFX effects that can exist on the battlefield at the same time, and I'm not sure how to solve this problem.

I know that the latest version of RPFM can open CSC files, but it results in file format errors. When I make my own modifications, I directly edit the hexadecimal files of CSC using Hex Editor. I'm not sure if this would be helpful or not.

What will actually happen if you load a blood replacer mod above this? Will you just miss out on permanent blood and that's it?

So for most user I think the FPS wont be much of a problem. In my case, the fps drop heavily due to one scenario: I play double unit size so I often fight battles with around 10k+ combatant, and if they blob and die in that blob, the blood particle will go crazy and tank the cpu. If you play on normal unit size and dont blob too much, the impact will be 4-8 fps top.

I'm playing on 1440p ultrawide. I had shadows set to high but lowered it to medium. Also have anti-aliasing at TAA. I have the same dips with no mods installed so I guess it's a CPU problem but I can't change that without changing the motherboard so I guess I'm screwed. However, using this just mod makes blinding light vfx on queen bess permanent and you can't even see the map or the units passing through the craters as the fight progresses.

There is a really odd issue with warpfirethrowers. When they shot the flames fly all over the place. It's not an issue with with the Dwarf ones for some reason.

@Chuckawookie, Also be sure you don't have "Extreme" Shadows on. They're not that much better than high and the game seems to default to it if you have a decent graphics card and it can especially cause performance hits mid-battle for some reason
