Pro Tip: Adding so many props is gonna lag your game no matter how good your PC is. Might want to tone it down a bit.

@carbonated shampoo thank you bro for the tip, also can you tell me how you make the ai nodes you make work?, everytime I try to do it and then save it, it won't appear with the .txt on the end just say gm_name of the map.

the ai nodes? in hammer i just kinda threw a million ground nodes all over the sidewalks, and at least 1 in every room, when i remake the map however ill try to do the nodes a bit better, i didnt use any hint nodes so in tight spaces ai might not know to go one at a time through doorways and such, also they arent all connected in the buildings and honestly i was getting a little bit tired of recompiling the map to see if every node connected, what i should've done is added nodes in every new type of building i was making before copying them around, so i would have nodes for every building while not manually putting down ai nodes in multiple identical buildings

but when i eventually remake the map when i have a better pc, i do want to see what i can do to have very detailed and good nodes, rather than just a million ground nodes slapped all over the map, it works, but it could be better

love the map, ever think of perfecting the ai nodes? also how do you make the ai nodes work im doing the instructions properly but everytime i save it, it wont appear as txt just text documentary.

i mean im not gonna try to do it on my current pc until i get a proper one, its an HP with only 4GB ram and integrated graphics, the only good thing is the SSD for the speed but even then i barely have storage, unity works just fine but thats only because i only made vrchat avatars, blender works a little slower and i gotta restart it from time to time, it slows down more and more as i work, and it has crashed a good few times, but ive still been able to make a fair amount of models i eventually want to port to gmod

holy shit this thing is just too hard, porting the map into blender was so easy but unity sucked SO bad. it was WAY too expensive on my harddrive, it is incredibly slow, and I just couldn't bother.

LED made a good video on porting source maps to blender, he does this method with TF2 maps in particular but i believe this can work with just about every map in source

what plugin do you use to port maps to blender? i looked up stuff and you can port blender projects into unity very easily, it's built in i believe. I just hope it will be easy enough for me to do it, because I know jack squat about blender and unity.

im not sure how it behaves with a BSP tho, id imagine it would look a little cleaner maybe, my friend did it but for whatever reason the textures dont come with it

i mean ive only imported VMFs, and no, it makes every single brush (all the blocks that make up the world's geometry) a separate object on its own, which is a little annoying but easy to deal with if you know what your doing

hang on, when you port maps to blender does it make the entire map a model? i hope not, because that sounds painful

the issue is how im gonna go about getting the textures all ported with it, they usually work in blender with some errors here and there but nothing bad, it also somehow recreates the shaders from source in blender's material nodes, im not sure how that can conflict with porting it but ill find out the hard way i guess

im not entirely familiar with the process, ive never ported a source map to anything other than blender, i know my way around blender so my plan is to import the VMF or BSP into blender, theres some youtube videos for importing source assets and maps into blender if you wanna know more, but if i can get it in blender, i feel as if i can port it as an FBX or OBJ then work from there since i know my way around making VRC maps and stuff mostly

hey, how do you port these kind of maps anyways? I really want to port some of my maps to bonelab, but it would also be cool to see how to port maps to vrchat and roblox

yea you can port the map to roblox, i plan to port the map to vrchat at some point myself so i dont really mind where or how you port the map, go crazy

when i do wanna update it i will more likely remaster the map:

proper stairs that are clipped instead of lazy slopes

3D skybox with detail

CSS and EP1 and EP2 assets that WILL be packed (new stuff you dont even need to have other games installed for)

more detail in the soundscape

hopefully cooler looking buildings

maybe the map will have an expansion with more stuff or maybe a separate map taking place somewhere else nearby in case the map being larger may lag more on older systems

Hello, yes it will most likely be updated to have more stuff and improvements. Right now @carbonated shampoo has a pretty crappy pc so he can't really use hammer right now so until he gets a better one there are no updates yet.

you just gotta noclip to the room of judgement (under the corner of the map with the stores), it was kinda added to be an admin room if there was gonna be any roleplays, my friend suggested i add it if its meant to be a bit of an "everything" map
