It still works fine for me. Another mod may be causing the crash, or you could try deleting the mod and re-downloading since steam may have corrupted the file.
And for me personally, I love the flavor of the dwarf apprentice, but can never really...bring myself to pick it up. They're glass cannon snipers, even worse in melee than witch hunters, so getting a bonus to health regen and armor were always easy to pass up.
I think someone else had this problem and it turned out it was another mod or it was a problem with the localization of the base game.

Expanded Hero Skill Trees Collection (Mod)
CA added some similar skills to the base skill trees so I removed them from the mod.
I'll think about switching the bound spell to Searing Doom.
Eh, still love this mod, feels great. Doesn't really make Witch Hunters or Empire captains viable in my games, but now warrior priests aren't...awful. xD Battle Wizard stuff is fun, too, I especially like how they now all get some bound spells so that they can do *something* magic like if they happen to run out.
Also find it funny that the bound spell on Gold Wizards is...one of the worst ones in their kit in my opinion. x;D Man, that lore of metal really is kinda useless unless its on Galt...
The other mod you are using determines what ranged weapon the mounted version has and the damage it does. You should ask that modder about the ranged damage.
The ranged damage increased to 750. That's double the norm
I wonder if you could make it compatible with that mod

This way i don't have to maintain and manage 50+ mods and submods. The Addon works of hard dependancy to all & only your skills mods. All additional hero mods are optional and will recieve the skills when enabled along the Addon :) I hope this makes sense! Thanks again for the hard work and good luck with the next faction!
Probably unless the dump skill takes up the same location on the skill tree as the skills from this mod.
Give Robie's excellent Empire Engineers mod a try. Its as good as an empire engineer hero is going to get
I'm hoping CA will eventually add a Master Engineer hero eventually so that won't be necessary.
If you choose "Order of the Anvil" you eventually get a healing aura.

- Engineer Captain: have some basic skill of Master engineer.
Warrior priest:
- Healer: - have skill to heal like Kislev Priest
