@Eternal yes. VPF is compatible with any weapon mod as long as they are made with the vanilla code (AKA not weaponcore)

Great gun, i wish it could be 1x2x1 for the bounding box. Never understood why keen made gat guns 3x3x3 when they look like they fit in a 1x2x1 box

During placement preview, the gun part points backwards. That's a known issue, I presume? After placement, the orientation is correct, so, impact is cosmetic at best.

Hello @Elindis,

I'm working on a weapon mod with some friends and we've been looking for a way to do what you did here with a recharge after a burst fire, and we saw you're using a custom script. I don't have time to learn how to make scripts for Space Engineers as we'd ideally like the mod to be complete in around 2 weeks. Would it be alright if we modified your script for use with our mod? We would of course give full credit for the script.

The AI range being 800m is to keep parity with vanilla turrets. The projectile has 1400m range, which is also the same as the small railgun's projectile range. Maybe ModAdjuster is what you're looking for?

Not from what I have seen, if the target is constantly moving. Just means the ammo is used up a bit faster.

@Typhon There is a certain tactical advantage to having a high rate of fire ;)

@kinngrimm The PCU cost is about normal for turrets. Static guns are always more PCU-efficient!

Stats don't seem to make it much better then the small railgun in the long run. Yea the DPS is higher, but that doesn't mean much if the rest of it is technically the same.

in the second vid the PCU cost was shown and like 3 times as high as of the large railgun. Is that due to the high fire rate and therefor taking up more simspeed?

can you make a weapon that is a large grid turret that uses autocannon ammo? i mainly want this cause i don't want to make a sub-grid ball turret all the time and they aren't easily built with projectors.

@TheRebornAce I am currently not working on these kinds of projects, but I would consider it if it suits my needs. I have tried to respect the vanilla game's balance, and I feel that homing missiles would be too powerful for the way the game currently is. They work well if you have a defense shield mod, but I don't consider shields when I think about balance.

Love all your weapon mods. They've been a great addition to my playthrough and build designs.

Out of curiosity, do you by any chance will consider have your future weapons (maybe current ones?) use the new Vanilla+ Framework script? Not a modder myself so idk how complex it will be compared with Weaponcore. But it seems this script allows more options for vanilla creators (lasers, guided rockets, etc). It also looks like to be a bit more flexible not requiring the script if players don't want to install but still want to enjoy using the mod (depending how the script is implemented of course). But yea just curious.

Anyways great weapon mod(s). Looking forward to your next creations.

@Fallenq Oh, well, I am just a hobbyist, and I think that the most fun things to do are the ideas that I come up with myself. I don't currently feel like making a Gatling-style gun, and I'm staying away from energy weapons for the timing being.

I've updated the projectile tracer to be closer to the barrel, since that seemed to be an oversight.

Well done! I'm a fan of these official-looking mods. Often in survival mode I'm substituting hard-to-make, quad-autocannon turrets with a turret of your design. Keep it up!

An alternate version with longer range like 3.5-4-5 would be welcome, for people who play modded, and where most guns have longer ranges.

I must say without doubt, that this is a great medium weapon to fit between rail guns and gatling guns, in addition to keens cannons/arty; fact I'd say even a bit better.

Now only question I have, is will you be making any turreted/fixed weapons of the torpedo launcher and coil gun for small grid?

I have an idea for a new turret.
The turret is something like a gattling gun has the same damage 600 m of range and 2 times more fire rate and bullet speed but uses only energy. For balance it should use a lot of energy and should be hard to make. What do you think about this idea?

A new turret that looks similar to the original Keen gatlings etc. I'm intrigued by the ammo and power usage, the ton of damage is kinda alright too. Well done and thanks for sharing your time and effort. Cheers mate.
