Mr Ango Avian 30 Jan, 2024 @ 11:41pm
Could we have this mod set in cold war svenario (once it comes out)?
patriot1776 26 Dec, 2023 @ 2:59pm
thanks
Tokyo Dreamin’  [author] 23 Dec, 2023 @ 11:14am
I was told that ought to be fixed now
patriot1776 21 Dec, 2023 @ 9:23pm
I really would like to try this, but I do not want this overwriting anything?

It appears it's not just the flags it's the whole graphics folder for me that doesn't work.
Tokyo Dreamin’  [author] 11 Nov, 2023 @ 1:30pm
I'll keep trying to figure it out, at least the file is actually there so it can have a workaround
Roboute Guilliman 11 Nov, 2023 @ 1:26pm
I just manually ported the flags into my SR2030 folder and that worked. Idk why it's not working
Tokyo Dreamin’  [author] 11 Nov, 2023 @ 1:17pm
That's strange. I put the correct file in the graphics folder for the upload. I am not sure why it won't work for others. It should replace the fourth flag file.

Is there no flags for some nations example Cuba? I have a few nations that have the standard BG flag.

I'll probably put the Naxalites onto the map owning things though I imagine India is powerful enough the Naxals will quickly capitulate and I wouldn't want them to be too strong because as you pointed out India often is at war with the PRC in the higher volatility settings (I did play testing though and on capture victory India holds out a very long time against the PRC, even longer if you send them military techs and units/designs). I'll think about some more Africa conflicts. In the long run my idea is to design a scenario with lower volatility in mind where the AI generally isn't starting wars but significant scripted wars will start a certain amount of time into the game so you can play it as an actual Cold War, and eventually WWIII will also break out scripted. The first one of those I have in mind is what I'll call the "Great West African War" where the two blocs there will all start killing each other about a year into the game. (part 2)

I feel like I already put a good bit into the USSR. The main thing to remember is that because the USSR is not Russia (especially with an additional 30 years under one flag) so dissolving it means you can't just break Russia down much further (with my exceptions being those countries like Tatarstan or Kalmykia) whereas with America, well, America is America and the point is to be able to shatter it into entities that kind of make sense. I might add back Manchuria and create a Cantonese loyalty for China though if that sounds like a fair addition? As far as civil conflict goes I plan to add one in Congo, Philippines, probably Myanmar, at the least. I already ruled out Afghanistan no matter what - the Soviets defeated the Mujahideen and that's that. I'm thinking about possibly adding in the Maya thing, giving them then real life EZLN areas as a starting area and also having them at war with Guatemala. (part 1)

I did a thing where I released Ukraine by giving parts of it to a country like Ireland, then getting Ireland to release it. This was to simulate some kinda civil conflict in the game. I found it very fun.

ALSO I found out if a partisan unit spawns on top of a garrison unit. You can use the capture option when you attack garrisons, that will capture that garrison very quickly. Don't know if that's a game feature or a mod feature, BUT IT WAS FUN TO DO :steamhappy:

Do you plan on making more areas a different loyalty for the USSR? One of the main things that grind my gears about the original SR2030, is that every state in the united states has its own loyalty. While that's good and I think they should keep that scenario, there should be an alternative one with several states loyalties combined into one. Your mod fits that well in the United states, but also in the same mod I feel the opposite about China and Russia.

Where they have some differing loyalties but not enough to make it feel like much of an impact or any reason to invest much play time in the area?

Best of luck! It looks like you're off to a good start.

Finally this is a start

Yeah that's not a fault of mine, I recommend playing the capture victory condition to prevent that kind of thing from happening as the Chinese will need to at a minimum take the capital. Also flags missing is absolutely not intended and not sure why that would occur I will look into it. I plan to add many proxy wars including wars scripted to start at certain dates. East Austria was occupied by the Red Army until 1955 IRL part of this alternate history is that Austria is simply not created again. I am glad to hear you thought the Columbian civil war was balanced and engaging I tested it out myself and plan to model other proxy conflicts on it. Only Quebec is supposed to be independent. The devs made AI changes that make them more likely to release loyalties and I have noticed the Cascadia issue. I had hoped I fixed it but that's what the extra "test players" is for so thanks for the input.

I notice a lot of action around the map and the same issues I always see with Supreme Ruler 2030. China invaded India and only took like 12% of its territory than immediately surrendered. HOWEVER I LOVED how partisan units formed regularly all over India and even manage to take some towns. The same thing happened after I took Cali as SC in the civil war, but it was still fun.

A part of Austria was held by Communist East Germany?

Of course a bunch of the flags are missing but it sounds like this is in development so its too be expected. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

figuring out a way for conscripts to spawn more frequently after an invasion or for just larger nations and MAYBE just MAYBE because it may be fun, add more proxy civil wars :3. Those two things would make this epic.

Ukraine - USSR proxy
Mexico - Cartel - Yucatan Proxy
Maybe a United States Proxy?

Just played as Socialist Columbia, I gotta say that civil war felt very balanced in terms of game play. I was able to pump out conscripts long enough to get some units going, and was able to make incremental gains at a rate that made it FEEL like I was a rebel force fighting a US backed government. Columbia having a air fabrication facility but not being able to mass produce air units or good air units was a nice touch to it.

LOVED how every state in America isn't its own loyalty and how some loyalties cross the United State Canadian border. I can't remember if Canada starts independent but when I last looked at it was under American control. With Cascadia and Quebec as independent nations. Cascadia also controlled Washington state???
