You can coat part of the platform right by the orange gel dispenser in orange gel and then carefully hop back to the other side making most of the chamber trivial.

This was really cool. I loved the all-tubes aesthetic, as well as how the whole puzzle came together once the pieces started falling into place... it was extremely satisfying when the solution came into view. Best a-ha moment I've had in a while!

This chamber looks absolutely incredible already, but due to the fact that I have tried working with hammer and I know what an ABSOLUTE PAIN IN THE ASS it can be, this is so much more impressive to me. Also the solution was very satisfying. 1000/10 my favorite Portal 2 chamber of all time.

Epic map, but it would be more intuitive if "on ground" portal panels was closier to funnel or exit to entry portal panel was on ground height

very neat chamber with a unique style. unfortunately, i think all the cubes flying around caused some lag for me. it wasnt unplayable, but it was noticeable

Extremely unique visuals that I've never seen in a workshop map before. Kinda reminds me of those old Portal 2 beta images with all of the vactubes in the bts areas, and a tiny bit of desolation as well.

What a fun puzzle and BEAUTIFUL atmosphere. Certainly can see the Demon Arisen influence: leaving the entrance area, that you know you will need to return to later, with no indication how that might happen is a definite Demon hallmark! ...And "Cave Johnson" test introductions in the description are always appreciated. You consistently produce really impressive and wholly original aesthetic concepts, and this map is no exception. I love all the tubes and I love how the tube-like curvature/circularity is replicated in other aspects of the design. Big thumbs up.

Both the puzzle and the environment are breathtaking, I'm very glad I stumbled onto this map! Map on and I'll be looking forward to playing more amazing quality testchambers like this! (I loved the light panels readjusting, super cool touch) :p2blue::p2orange:

Really, really good map. I have just a few notes though:

1. Add music! I adore the visuals on display here, they're incredibly impressive, but the atmosphere could be enhanced just that much more with some ambient music. Maybe something from Portal 1 or even Mel would work for these visuals.

2. The portal surface behind the propulsion gel button (where you place a funnel to solve the test) could be a little more clearly marked with either a grey/white checkerboard pattern to distinguish it or surrounding it with gratings like the runway

3. The sloped runway at the beginning area should just be a tiny bit longer, in it's current state you have a decent chance of just dying if you don't start running near the edge of the surface, which is no fun.

Otherwise this is excellent! It's a great puzzle backed up by some of the best Hammer work I've seen :)

obviously i'd encourage you to keep trying - it's a very doable puzzle and the solution is very satisfying - but if you're really really stuck, then there are a few videos of people playing this and other versions of the same puzzle you can find on youtube

@arthurzby you most certainly can return to the first platform after dropping down, just not immediately. you might have to apply some cleverness ;D. Keep going, you’ll solve it!

once i fall off the ledge at the first puzzle, i can't get back up. I also can't go to the starting section of the first puzzle once i go to the 2nd part of the level and fizzle my portals

The thing is dark, I do see the closed gate against ambient fog but close up it's pitch black, I'll back in to feel the way dead-reckoning.

@E L Y T R O N Thank you! This is actually the first time I've hammerised an existing puzzle. Usually I make my own or collaborate with Demon Arisen on a project, in which case the puzzles are made for the map and not the other way around. For this one, I hammerised Catharsis because I wanted to enter the Thinking With Portals Intertwined Streams challenge, and that challenge set Catharsis as the puzzle you had to hammerise. In general though, I think people hammerise puzzles that they find particularly engaging or elegant, or ones where they played it and had a clear idea for how it could look in a different setting.

Not sure I follow what you mean about the 'pinpoint' but from the rest of your description, yeah that's definitely not the intended solution. No ninja moves or tricky execution required. Maybe give it another go ;D
