there is no automatic adjustment for Lengthy Scheme SWO.

@lordabizi does this account for the Lengthy Schemes second wave option?
Or do I need to set PerDoomFormulaSlope to 0.167 (half of the default).

after investigation it seems like in the current implementation of lwotc, extra dark events from this mod will still be added, but not be counterable.

I would advice against using it in LWTOC: in LWOTC the whole mechanism for dark events is different. It might mechanically work, but I would recommend against.

Can anyone confirm if this works with LWOTC?

Good question. I don't know why I wrote 10 months if I only have 7 entires in the array...
and yes, a month = 21 days (supply drop cycles).

Thanks, the config is clear in terms of modification and I already made the changes so next campaign I start will not start derailing in mid game again ;)
I have one question though as in one comment bellow you said that monthly dark events scale to 5 over course of 10 "months" (xcom 24 day months?) while config has 7 array items like this (note it is after my modification already):
PerMonthDarkEvent[0] = 1
PerMonthDarkEvent[1] = 2
PerMonthDarkEvent[2] = 3
PerMonthDarkEvent[3] = 3
PerMonthDarkEvent[4] = 3
PerMonthDarkEvent[5] = 3
PerMonthDarkEvent[6] = 4
What is the connection between above and 10 months from comment? Many thanks for help!

Thank you for the comment! Yes, in CI you can counter # of dark events up to the number of regions you contacted at the start of the month.
And everyone is free to configure this mod to their liking, it is my privilege is the author to ship the mod with the configs I'd play with.
What I also do is set (using Dark Event Manager, or Grim Horizon Fix mod) the harshest strategic dark events to be permanent / removed. Because yes, getting Permanent High Alert, Alien Cypher, Gone To Ground is devastating. So these are set to be temporary. This leaves dark events that help aliens to scale (by getting more stats or abilities, see the linked mods in the description), and those I don't mind countering as much - gives some alien progression without creating new enemies.

If you're not sure how to config this mod to your liking then let me know and I'll try to help.

Very nice mod which substantially ups the difficulty, but needs some config tweaks to not destroy you in later months.
I am playing with ChristopherOdd's 2022 collection (covert infiltration and girm horizon lite redux + remove dark event) + lengthy scheme - the amount of dark events is currently easily 8 - 9 per month, where it is possible to counter 3 or 4 with guerilla ops (with CI I guess it is regions dependent? never really counted how many can be countered). That being said I recommend to tweak config to have 5 or 6 maximum, or you risk having very unpleasant consequences in mid to late game.
Totally recommend it though as the campaign (probably lost now) was the best one I played so far.

I have no slightest idea, because I haven't played without CI in like 3 years.
You are welcome to make experiments and let me know your findings.

In the event that their are more than three Dark Events, when you get guerrilla ops, will there be more than three missions? Or will you still only have three options?
lordabizi  [author] 10 Nov, 2023 @ 10:05pm
@MrCloista - monthly dark events gradually increase to 5 over the course of like 10 "months".
Doom dark events increase at a linear pace, 1 dark event per 3 doom ticks.
LeyShade 10 Nov, 2023 @ 8:30pm
Yes. Just yes. This... this is something that was long needed.
MrCloista 10 Nov, 2023 @ 7:21pm
What's the defaults set at?
lordabizi  [author] 10 Nov, 2023 @ 8:29am
"should" work, I'll add a remark.
RustyDios 10 Nov, 2023 @ 8:15am
Obvious compatibility question: Does it work with Grim Horizon/Lite and other such DarkEvent mods?

a great tool for certain people
