I don't know what it is, but for some reason this mod does not load in for me when selected.

It doesn't crash the game. I just cannot find the unit in game, not in campaign and not in skirmish.

It might be something has changed since 2016? If not its on my end.

I recently upgraded to Win10, I actually don't even have the mod currently. It should still work just fine anyway.

I remember the arcani from rome 1 :) could you update it to the latest patch?

@Andreas Schwarz[blue] Shouldn't have worked out for them unless the Hellenic Cataphracts were exhausted. I made these Arcani as a hit and run unit, although Cataphracts don't have the best kill power in prolonged melee.

can you make something like this for parthia would be cool for them to have a type of battlefield assassin maybe combine it with this mod so it's just one mod on the order list since parthia is kinda lacking in cool/good infantry units looks great btw and thanks for your work miss the arcani from rome 1

Hey everyone, I finally decided to update this mod so they are not recruitable as generals. I have started playing again recently and this was bugging me. It was never intended for them to be generals.

Okay I checked the files and apparently they weren't using the leather armor stat like I intended. Their armor is now 40 like gladiatrices.

Thank you for the thoughts and kind words, Caesar. I actually did make them recruitable at a barracks long ago, I'm not sure if it still works because CA changed the file name for the working barracks multiple times. If they aren't recruitable at the barracks, tell me. I believe it was set to the level 4 one, but last time I fiddled with this mod was in December.

Also I'll consider upping their armor. In my use of them, their stealth and speed seemed fine for balancing it out. The reason their armor is so low is that shield strength attributes to the armor stat if you wave over it, and that is a 0 addition to the "leather" armor stat, which other units with the same visual armor use.

Wow, this mod is really awesome, I like the making the women the arcani, as it goes with the female spies that rome has, and It makes them feel like armed spies of Rome. the only things I disagree with is the:
1. temple of mars thing, it makes them nearly impossible to recruit.
2. the no armor stat. they are wearing the female armor stat, and plebs with togas on have more armor stats coded in. while I'm not saying that they should be 90 armor stats, they shouldn't have no armor stat at all, and I feel like that would be easier to change that remodeling them into tunics and togas.
3. If these are supposed to be light agents of rome, they should be able to run slightly faster so they can catch up with fleeing units, probably give them the speed stat that skirms have.

overall this is an awesome mod, and I dont quite understand why is isnt more downloaded than most other mods.

Eureka, I have done it. Apparently in the files there is a completely useless building with nearly the exact same name as the roman barracks file that is actually used. They are recruitable as Rome now, and HOPEFULLY as the 4 Roman sub factions in EA. Have fun.

Okay I just uploaded another thing that could fix it. Try recruiting them from a level 4 barracks, and I may have also made them recruitable for the new Romes as well at the same time.

I have kind of given up, I've tried making them recruitable with anything they should be recruitable from with no luck. And the fact they work fine in custom confuses me more. I might look at it again soon. Also they aren't supposed to be a general, lol.

Tried both L4 ToM and Pantheon sadly no luck. They can be a General's body guard though.

Okay I have officially run out of ideas as to why they aren't recruitable as the new Roman factions, and I don't even know if normal Rome can recruit them. They work in custom battles, though, as any of the Romes.

Updated. Trying to make them recruitable for the new 4 Roman factions. Not sure if they're recruitable as normal Rome in GC though. Pantheon or level 3-4 temple of Mars hopefully recruits them.

Yes, the shield hand. I have seen the other arcani mods have the sword stay in their hand when defending though. It would be as if the shield disappeared when they defended.

when you say "swords disappear", do you mean in the shield hand? that's because the game doesn't have dual wield animations, same thing with axes and clubs using sword animations, while it's fun to watch a German shove a club through a guy's chest, CA was being lazy and they still haven't fixed it
