Seems to break outskirts in monk's campaign with expanded outskirts enabled making the game soflock when entering certain rooms. Maybe related to the spawn changes?

suggestion: compatibility with hunter's exclusive garbage wastes, renaming that version of the region to "collapsing station"
although idk how good of an idea that is when hunter's exclusive garbage wastes is still kinda buggy and is part of a larger project that is still very unfinished

To those who use Roasted's Threat Themes, you'll probably realize that Vents doesn't have any threat track playing. If you're like me and too lazy to check, you can instead do it the harder way (or honestly just better way if you don't like checking its position in the load order) and go into DM's txt file (dm.txt) in the procedural folder from the Roasted mod. I think its in modify idk I forgot lol its not hard to find once you're there (the mod folder's name is the numbers after id= when you press the share button). When you're there, you'll have to change Looks to the Moon (Vents) to just Vents. Will work after that. Though, if you obey the load order, you probably won't have a problem.

@riley_ that still has a different energy than uberhang but it's a lot better than just calling it "blue". also, i'm well aware that the train lizards aren't referenced in-game in any way. that's not my point. my point is that "train world" wouldn't work as a name. it doesn't sound like any of the other inv names, and it doesn't make sense. the player wouldn't know they're called train lizards without peeping the wiki or eyeing the code, since there is nothing referring to them in any way in the entire game. even if they were called train lizards at some point, that wouldn't make "train world" a good name. and my suggestion wasn't very good either. like you said, it was too serious. only the actual developers who created the real inv names could make something with the same energy.

also again, the train lizards are not referred to in-game at all. there's not a single pearl, expedition challenge, or piece of dialogue that references them. have a feeling that was the case in the hurricane mod too. wiki calls em train lizards and train is similar to rain so it's train world. "infested monument" sounds way too serious.

though the inv region renames are meant to fit the gimmicks those regions have for inv, such as the inability to jump in chimney canopy, the exterior being full of bug zappers, and communications array having a lot of slime mold.

the inv region renames are jokes anyway i didn't think too hard about them. the wall is "Blue" because it's really blue for inv, industrial is "train world" because train lizards and rain world.
also "shrouded smokestacks" for rivulet's chimney canopy goes hard af.

@riley_ for the inv region renames, anything related to "train" wouldn't work, since they're not referred to as train lizards in the game. you would only know those lizards are called trains by peeping the game's code or looking at the wiki. something like "infested monument" would work a lot better since it references both saint's worldstate and the train lizard infestation. it also sounds much better than my previous suggestion, which didn't sound very good at all.

@riley_ Some of those suggestions do sound good, but I do have some criticism over some of them. Especially the name for Chimney you suggested.
I think Shrouded Smokestacks would fit better for the occasion.

@riley_ another inv name that i think could be improved is the wall. just calling it "blue" sounds kind of boring compared to the other, more random and funny names. while it is somewhat random, it's still not very funny. i think "if i was green i would die" would work a lot better

@riley_ there's another mod called "pitch black" which does a great job of renaming the exterior subregions during ravioli's worldstate:
the leg -> laden stilt
underhang -> breached passage
the wall -> upheld rampart

scarlet islands -> scarlet skyline: the "scarlet" part has grown on me too just because it's at least not just bluntly calling it "red islands" but imo the region name should still mention that it's in the sky.
fog arrays -> foggy fields: a lot like memory crypts, removing the "farm" part removes the reason for "arrays" to be there as well. also foggy fields once again has alliteration (maybe i like alliteration too much, but it's typically an easy way to make names for things sound better), and references saint's name for the region.

marred crypts -> marred records: marred is actually a much better word for it, though i'm sticking by the statement that it should be records instead of crypts because the reasion it's called memory crypts is that it stores several historical records (several "memories") from the ancients. removing the "memory" part removes the entire reason for "crypts" to be there as well, cause it's not a graveyard or anything.
rivulet leg -> salient struts. the leg does get a significant change for rivulet by only having dlls and grapple worms. also has alliteration, references moon's version of the leg, and references the "salient construct" region from the rot 2.0 mod.
blue wall -> storming wall.
chimney overcast -> overcast towers: an "overcast" is not a location and can never be a location. "overcast" is a type of weather. you cannot stand on an overcast. cloudy canopy has alliteration and breaks away from the pattern of almost every rivulet region name having some synonym for "raining".

pre-hunter sump canal -> deep reservoir
rivulet sump canal -> sump tunnel: sump canal i just don't understand cause neither rivulet nor the pre-hunter campaigns get any sort of atmosphere change here, the color doesn't even change for rivulet. only difference is both shelters being broken for spearmaster and arti (and one of them being broken for hunter), which imo isn't enough of a difference to warrant a name change, but if you insist on having on then you could keep sump canal or go with deep reservoir.
blue precipice -> stormfront: yeah "stormfront" isn't a real word but neither is "pipeyard". i think it fits and sounds cool, especially for a subregion nobody ever goes to. it doesn't even really have a reason to be called the precipice anymore, since the pre-hunter version of the subregion is at the top (the "precipice") of a bunch of towers in waterfront facility. now it's just hanging off the side of five pebbles.

lemme try redoing and explaining some of those region renames (holy shit this got too long i gotta spread it across several messages, sorry)
rainy outskirts -> shrouded suburbs: it fits rivulet better than pre-hunter anyway, though neither really get a major atmosphere change
pre-hunter drainage system -> aqueducts: water fluctuation gimmick is a pretty significant gameplay change that warrants a rename the same as the map changes for garbage wastes and shoreline
blanching wastes -> blanched heaps. i've come around to the "blanching"/"blanched" part but i still think "wastes" needs to be removed
pipeflood -> flooded conduits: sticking by this one. imo "pipeflood" is even worse than "flood pipeyard" cause that sounds like the name of an event, not a location. if you wanna go with "flooded pipeyard" that's fine ig but i'm putting flooded conduits here to once again reference saint's name for the region. "floodyard" could maybe work though, i'm not sure.

@riley_ chimney canopy is a terrible name. chimney overcast is much better, especially since it's in ravioli's worldstate. it definitely shouldn't be changed. acerbic station and blanching wastes are also great names and fit perfectly with vanilla ring world.

In case you're not aware, my renames for Rivulet's regions are designed to accompany changes in atmosphere in many outdoor areas (said changes are not omnipresent) and bear more similarity to pre-Rivulet areas than the distant Saint campaign. I did fix up some names that I think rolled off the tongue poorly, but I have no other concrete plans for improvements, for the time being (e.g. Sky Islands never feels like a tropical rain-land, and Deep Maw references the official Depths subregion name given to Rivulet's Unfortunate Development -- and there's already the Rot and a fanmade Rotten City).

Though I do remember the early Drainage System having gradually softening fluctuations, so I am taking that into consideration.

i agree with the first comment from the person below me, I think that the suggested region renames are a bit better than the current ones. I do think the use of Acerbic and Blanching are okay so long as they sound good

typically when renaming a region you shouldn't leave the original region name in (there can be exceptions though of course), and colors and obscure words like "acerbic" and "blanching" shouldn't be included in region names. just some things to keep in mind if you want to have the names fit in better with vanilla ones

flood pipeyard -> flooded conduits
pre-hunter sump canal -> deep reservoir
drizzled shoreline -> stormy seaside
blue precipice -> the precipice
ailment crypts -> sullen records
sullied exterior -> diseased construct
rivulet leg -> salient struts
blue wall -> storming superstructure
deep maw -> rotten maw
chimney overcast -> chimney canopy
pre-hunter sky islands -> skyline sanctuary
scarlet islands -> shrouded jungle
fog arrays -> foggy fields

Compatibility for extra threat themes and roasted's threat themes would be nice because I've noticed that in some campaigns the new threat themes don't play, for example in roasted's threat themes there is supposed to be a new threat theme for past garbage wastes but from what I can tell it just plays the normal version

@AdequatelyBiased Ah, didn't think it would fit the change of pace in Acerbic, with both the dangerous enemies and the lack of a short path to the Rot cave. Also, I thought "Weyuon" also fitted the path from Drainage due to the room being outdoors leading to an acid-pool tower prior to Hunter's campaign.

Like.. maybe the other version of the song from the alpha. Free Mind Loop, if you think it fits there.

This bugs Silent Construct heavily, saving in the leg subregion completely makes it so you can't play the campaign due to it crashing upon starting up the campaign and it also bugs the pipe going into Five Pebbles destroyed chamber

@riley_ Good question. I just removed "Gate to the Shoreline" from Saint's version of Shoreline to make the automatic Vibe World playlist consistent. I do have another mod intended to work with Vibe World, but I won't remove this change to save space unless I roll out another update to this mod.

FINALLY somebody else had this idea. i was always mildly annoyed by garbage wastes keeping the same name in the past when past shoreline got renamed to waterfront facility. granted my idea for a name was "acid wastes" so acerbic station is definitely better.
