Of course man, glad you enjoy the mod
霜糖大油条 2 Jul @ 6:37am
@Schmeeda That's understandable. Many modders are waiting for paradox to fix the game and want to avoid issues with the incoming DLC. I've looked at the file, but since I'm not familiar with portrait modding, I think I will just wait for the update, as I only have a few days to play stellaris before I become very busy, thank you for the advice though.
Schmeeda  [author] 2 Jul @ 6:10am
That's totally doable, I've been planning to make a combined portrait but I just haven't had the time to really get on and do it. 4.0 got me off of Stellaris and I haven't reinstalled it since. But if you're really set on it you can combine the portraits manually in the files.

TLDR: I'll add that eventually but can't say when, depends on when Stellaris draws me back in (probably around the time the new shroud DLC drops)

Is there anyway I can randomized the portraits so they have different colors instead of just one?
Schmeeda  [author] 14 Jun @ 11:17am
I'll definitely look into that thanks! That would make sense since my Extradimensionals are Biological portraits technically. Might have to make them machines maybe lol. Weird change pdx.

This might help-- I saw another mod that unlocked all traits to be usable on all portraits. However, using the Lithoid trait didn't convert pop upkeep to minerals. The author said that food upkeep was hardcoded to portraits.
Schmeeda  [author] 13 Jun @ 7:54am
Hmm, I'll take a look as soon as I can then.
jjcarroll12 12 Jun @ 11:33pm
Cool mod! As of 4.0 & Biogenesis, I'm also having the issue where the pops require food upkeep. This is the only mod I have installed so it shouldn't be a conflict.
Schmeeda  [author] 1 Jun @ 10:12am
No worries!

I was just doing some more testing and discovered it has nothing to do with this mod as it does the same thing with vanilla portraits and pop traits, sorry for bugging you
Schmeeda  [author] 31 May @ 2:15pm
What mods are you using? If there are hard incompatibilities it'd be good to know.
Average Swede 31 May @ 2:12pm
yea i do have several mods that add more portraits and pop traits, i tried to move it to the bottom and it didnt work
Schmeeda  [author] 31 May @ 1:25pm
Do you have any mods that deal with pop traits / portraits? Also try putting it at the very bottom to see if that fixes it (likely will have to start another game though since the game needs to be 'recompiled' otherwise the bug might stick).
Average Swede 31 May @ 1:19pm
I am on 4.0 and this mod is number 7 in the load order
Schmeeda  [author] 31 May @ 12:53pm
In my testing that never happened. Is the mod at the bottom or near the bottom of your load order? Also if you're not playing on 4.0 there might be some bugs since this is for 4.0+.
Average Swede 31 May @ 12:46pm
weird, for some reason when i start a new campaign i just get an inter-dimensional leader and all of my pops are from a random portrait and traits. is this something other people have had or is this a personal mod conflict on my end?
Schmeeda  [author] 20 May @ 7:30pm
I would say you should put this low in the load order, especially with the new update things are finnicky. Let me know if the problem persists after putting this at or near the bottom.
Schmeeda  [author] 20 May @ 7:29pm
It's vanilla from the Astral Planes DLC. It's just the pop trait for the Unbidden pops you can get. I'll look into that though, it should work since it's just that trait made playable.
Pumpkin-King 19 May @ 10:26pm
Is Extradimensional a vanilla trait or one you added? It doesn't seem to be working as pops still require food upkeep.
TR33demon 8 May @ 1:34pm
thank you
Schmeeda  [author] 6 May @ 6:14pm
@TR33demon just updated
Schmeeda  [author] 23 Apr @ 9:41pm
I can check but last time I tried it the portraits were working, lmk if I'm wrong though. With portraits even if they're technically out of date often they'll still work since PDX rarely change portrait code (except with DLC like machine age and biogenesis).

To be clear I think since Biogenesis is adding genetic portrait ascension tiers a'la cyborgs that's why it'd break the mod. Since the DLC is just a week away I was planning to wait till then.
Schmeeda  [author] 23 Apr @ 9:39pm
I'm waiting to update it when the Biogenesis DLC drops since I wouldn't be surprised if the new DLC would break something.
TR33demon 23 Apr @ 8:14pm
hey sorry for the bother but will there be a chance of this getting updated with the current version of stellaris?( btw thank you for doing this its a shame there is such limited interaction with the formless despite how cool they are)
Tora 14 Jan @ 9:31am
Awesome!
PAVLIK 13 Jan @ 5:32am
lright guys, I've found a solution

go to workshop\content\281990\3108740586\gfx\models\portraits\extradimensional file name: _extradimensional_portrait_entities.asset

open it (I use notepad++)

search: sound = { soundeffect = "incoming_ex_message_state_01" } } change this(there are too many) incoming_ex_message_state_01 to necroid_portrait_16_death_worshipper_03

Save the file.

That's it! You're all done. Now you can take a break from those awful noises
PAVLIK 13 Jan @ 4:16am
Any idea how to turn off those background noises?(AHHH UHHH) I'm trying to find the sound file, but it's nowhere to be found.....
Tora 12 Dec, 2024 @ 12:49pm
Yeah, I'll try with just it turned on later.
Schmeeda  [author] 11 Dec, 2024 @ 7:21pm
Do you have any other mods active?
Tora 11 Dec, 2024 @ 6:19pm
The portraits show up, but Fungoid is getting called Extradimensional now. It's not *harmful*, but it very slightly annoys me, I guess.
Schmeeda  [author] 11 Dec, 2024 @ 3:07pm
@Tora are you getting the portraits to appear in your species creator? The default shipset and city style is fungoid for the extradimensional species so that's probably what you're seeing. The fungoid cities and ships should still be available.
Tora 11 Dec, 2024 @ 2:34pm
This mod causes the Fungoid ship and City to be called Extradimensional.
Tora 11 Dec, 2024 @ 2:31pm
Two things - could you allow the Extradimensional traits to be used by any species type? Or would that cause the AI to be able to spawn with it?
Schmeeda  [author] 1 Dec, 2024 @ 9:13am
I don't have Stellaris installed atm but when I get back into it I can add that! If you're itching for it you can edit the files yourself, all I think it is in the config there's a flag, something like MACHINE = false or something.
bigman 28 Nov, 2024 @ 11:57pm
Hi! Love this mod, is it possible to make them playable as machine empire type aswell?
Schmeeda  [author] 18 Oct, 2024 @ 10:55am
Hmmm I don't feel I should remove the extra trait since that could break people saves. Just pick whichever then, there aren't supposed to be two fyi but just roll with it for now.
Xzenowulf 17 Oct, 2024 @ 7:07pm
also, theres now two extradimensional traits.. not sure which one is supposed to be used.
Xzenowulf 17 Oct, 2024 @ 7:26am
don't suppose it'd be possible to have a version of the portrait that uses all colors (with both background versions) on one species (i.e. combine all 8 portrait options into one so a single species can use all of them), would it?
Schmeeda  [author] 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:43am
@Order Prerogative rolled your update into the mod
Cosmoros 3 Aug, 2024 @ 9:05pm
Fixed the issues [drive.google.com] with trait; my guess is because the author used the same extradimensional trait that only crisis should use it conflicts and breaks the save.

In the fix, the trait is its own thing.
Schmeeda  [author] 26 Jul, 2024 @ 9:35pm
I've been pretty busy lately so I haven't had a lot of time to do any modding. I'll fix it when I can get some time, but if anyone wants to do a hotfix I'd be happy to roll it into the main mod.
Theminecreeper1 26 Jul, 2024 @ 9:31pm
Is there any timeframe for when the trait will be fixed?
FrostBarracuda5 22 Jul, 2024 @ 7:47am
also as of recently when ever i have the Extradimensional trait on my empire and i close stellaris and launch it it says i need to be a Extradimensional species type even tho i am
Schmeeda  [author] 22 Jul, 2024 @ 7:22am
Hmmm I'd have to look into that bug. I know when I created the portraits I restricted the portrait for AI use, but I can see if there's a way to exclude custom empires from that restriction.
FrostBarracuda5 20 Jul, 2024 @ 11:08pm
so i have a bug were if i make and empire with the portraits and want and ai to play it it never enters my game is there a way to make it that the ai can use my costem empire
Cyberspacer 6 Jul, 2024 @ 1:47pm
that bug with the trait i assume is due to how species sorting for portraits was changed for machine age
Kaihu 16 May, 2024 @ 1:50pm
I'm afraid I only found this mod a few days ago, so I can't say if it's a new issue.

The first time I realised that 'playable' Extradimensionals were in the game was after my Cosmogenesis run finished (when they gave me the option to take over the Formless post-endgame), so I searched for a mod that would let me actually start as them on my next playthrough. This mod is exactly what I was looking for! I like how it's seamless and feels pretty much identical to the vanilla extradimensionals. Once the trait is working, I'm definitely going to have a lot of fun exploring some new extradimensional empire ideas.
Schmeeda  [author] 16 May, 2024 @ 10:32am
Thanks for those, yeah looks like I need to rebuild the trait. I should've made more of an effort to differentiate my species from the vanilla extradimensionals, didn't foresee this type of issue. Good to know exactly what's the issue. Was this happening before "The Machine Age" or is this a new bug?
Kaihu 16 May, 2024 @ 4:34am
@Schmeeda No problem, I'm happy to help since I'm really looking forward to playing an extradimensional species once it's fixed! Speaking of which, since I'm here, I have one other separate bug to report with the Extradimensional trait (and it might provide insight towards the other issue somehow):

If I create an empire template with a species with the Extradimensional trait, then save it, it seems to save and work ok. However, when I quit the game to desktop then reopen it, the game thinks that the saved empire template is invalid, and the reason given is the Extradimensional trait. It displays this message [i.imgur.com]. And the reason the game thinks the trait is invalid is shown by this message [i.imgur.com]. Notice that it is referencing the Species "Extradimensionals" with an s, which I think is the base game NPC species rather than the modded species.
Schmeeda  [author] 16 May, 2024 @ 2:28am
@Kaihu I appreciate the help in debugging this! I might have to just re-create the trait myself, I wouldn't be surprised if the trait is bugged for player use, PDX scripted empires and species can be finicky. The name shouldn't be effecting anything, it's probably got something to do with PDX's scripting of the Formless AI. It wouldn't be too hard to recreate the trait, I'll just reference the plantoid Phototropic trait or something. Thanks for the help in narrowing down the issue!
