TLDR: I'll add that eventually but can't say when, depends on when Stellaris draws me back in (probably around the time the new shroud DLC drops)
To be clear I think since Biogenesis is adding genetic portrait ascension tiers a'la cyborgs that's why it'd break the mod. Since the DLC is just a week away I was planning to wait till then.
go to workshop\content\281990\3108740586\gfx\models\portraits\extradimensional file name: _extradimensional_portrait_entities.asset
open it (I use notepad++)
search: sound = { soundeffect = "incoming_ex_message_state_01" } } change this(there are too many) incoming_ex_message_state_01 to necroid_portrait_16_death_worshipper_03
Save the file.
That's it! You're all done. Now you can take a break from those awful noises
In the fix, the trait is its own thing.
The first time I realised that 'playable' Extradimensionals were in the game was after my Cosmogenesis run finished (when they gave me the option to take over the Formless post-endgame), so I searched for a mod that would let me actually start as them on my next playthrough. This mod is exactly what I was looking for! I like how it's seamless and feels pretty much identical to the vanilla extradimensionals. Once the trait is working, I'm definitely going to have a lot of fun exploring some new extradimensional empire ideas.
If I create an empire template with a species with the Extradimensional trait, then save it, it seems to save and work ok. However, when I quit the game to desktop then reopen it, the game thinks that the saved empire template is invalid, and the reason given is the Extradimensional trait. It displays this message [i.imgur.com]. And the reason the game thinks the trait is invalid is shown by this message [i.imgur.com]. Notice that it is referencing the Species "Extradimensionals" with an s, which I think is the base game NPC species rather than the modded species.
