Formables Inherit ALL Primary Cultures (1.9)

oh whoops! Sorry for the false alarm then
SnowBear  [author] 24 Jul @ 5:14am
@🦈Lily🦈 ah sorry about that, I think what happened here is that you formed Afghanistan too quickly before the 1 year check, so the flag to keep Persian didn't get added to Herat

Still, I thought I used a new on_action from update 1.9 to add this flag to all countries after lobby start, but it turns out I made it trigger the wrong one lol. I've just released an update so now cultures should be able be inherited from the starting year itself

It seems like the 1.9.7 update is incompatible - tested with only this mod and loading as Herat, forming Afghanistan no longer keeps Persian.

@recommendations - As mentioned below, Herat has Persian primary culture, so the Durrani Empire can rapidly integrate and get full rights for Persia and Afghanistan from game start, Punjab and Sindh on forming Pakistan, and then all of India if you'd like to expand that far. Very powerful and a very fun run. You could also go Turkestan instead of India.
Unfortunately the unique name and flag only apply to Afghanistan.

You can also create the special Platinean version of the Andes Federation as a Platinean culture and not start suddenly discriminating against your own core population!

The mod description mentions the Schleswig run to integrate Scandinavia into Central Europe.

If you want to absolutely maximise your number of primary cultures, I think Transylvania -> Romania -> Danubian State -> Central Europe is a contender, with a final result of 14 primary cultures.

Afghanistan > Pakistan > India to form akhand bahrat kinda

any fun culture stacking recs?

@nosquimoriturisumus I suppose that's just part of the fun you can have with this Mod, create ridiculous formables, and with it get more control over things
SnowBear  [author] 4 Dec, 2024 @ 5:45am
@nosquimoriturisumus Obviously that means Herat must pursue its destiny in forming a new Persian dynasty 😌

I mean this mod brute forces its way to bypass Paradox's static Primary Cultures for formables, so unintended consequences like that is more feature than bug

There's a balance issue with this mod when playing Herat. Herat is the only Afghan nation with Persian as a primary culture, so when it keeps that culture when forming Afghanistan, gg_afghanistan.4 gives claims on every Persian homeland as well as the ones it's supposed to give (Pashtun and Tajik homelands). Unfortunately it looks like the way to fix it is modifying gg_afghanistan.4 to exclude Persian homelands, and that requires overwriting vanilla script.

Basic little thing that may be out of the scope of this mod, but I'd love to be able to play as Fennoscandia without the Monarchy restriction. Could that be fixed/changed in some way? I've tried looking through the files a little but I'm no pro modder and I can't figure out how to fix it

You can form super scanfermania by first forming Scandinavia by Schleswig and then HRE

Hi, so for anyone who wants some context with the comment below, Ellisten and the modders from the Vic3 modding Discord server eventually found out that you can't do major formables twice. This mod doesn't touch or overwrite any vanilla files
Ellisten 2 Jul, 2024 @ 5:41pm
hello i think there's an issue(?) with this mod.

currently attempting to form schleswig-holstein into scandinavia then germany, but upon forming scandinavia germany disappears from the list of available formables. i tried editing germany to be a hegemony in case the issue was both formations being the same nation tier, but this did not fix it. i am also able to form sardinia into the (modded) alpine republic (empire) and still form italy (empire), so i think it's either an issue with vanilla not allowing you to perform multiple major unifications, or your variable is adding the former cultures after the game checks which unifications are available to you.

thank you for the mod either way, i know this is a weird edge case and may not be mod related, but i really like the possibility of forming weird supernations with small nations that have no other reason to be played and found out at the end of my run that i can't actually achieve super scandermania :(

Gotcha, thanks. Cool mod!
SnowBear  [author] 6 Mar, 2024 @ 11:46pm
@Havana-8 The mod doesn't touch any of vanilla's files, so it is safe to use even as Vicky 3 updates
Havana-8 6 Mar, 2024 @ 4:16pm
Update?
SnowBear  [author] 13 Jan, 2024 @ 10:01am
I've just added a warning to the mod's description to remind users to NEVER use this mod with Total Conversions/Alt Hist mods.

When I tried using this mod with Divergences, it just sent tens of thousands of errors per tick trying to find the vanilla cultures that aren't in the game's code anymore. So a general rule of thumb to not use this mod with any mod that removes vanilla's cultures,
Havana-8 10 Jan, 2024 @ 10:47am
Yooo, cool af. I really enjoyed this mod idea, now I`ll finally play around freely
SnowBear  [author] 7 Jan, 2024 @ 6:46am
@Havana-8 @MasterOfGrey Alright thank you so much for the feedback! After digging through the file it turns out every country formation event was busted, not just the ones related to Scandinavia and the Americas.

The mod has now been updated to fix this major error.

The error had to do with the on_actions code, and it turns out unless you do something specific it actually overwrites the vanilla code instead of adding to it.
Havana-8 7 Jan, 2024 @ 1:07am
Yes, American Federation events do not work. Also, Scandinavian unification now has a broken finnish event - after forming it in vanilla you can choose to integrate Finnish into Scandinavia, mod breaks it.
MasterOfGrey 6 Jan, 2024 @ 7:02pm
Oh, also there's a typo where "kissi" culture is "kissis" which throws a harmless error (unless you happen to need kissi culture to work for something.)
MasterOfGrey 6 Jan, 2024 @ 7:01pm
It does cause unexpected effects with the La Plata formation. I made my own patch for that.
Essentially if you form a country from a nation that lost a culture intentionally before the new formation, it can do odd things.
This could probably give you access to conflicting events in some cases, but I don't know where those would actually be.
SnowBear  [author] 6 Jan, 2024 @ 10:02am
@Havana-8 Oh? I've never seen any vanilla events break nor received any complaints about this before. Which events did the mod break in particular?
Havana-8 5 Jan, 2024 @ 7:19pm
Breaks events
MasterOfGrey 18 Dec, 2023 @ 4:01pm
For going forward - can you please reorder it so that the action to add Platinean comes before the action to add Guarani?
Otherwise the cultures switch places on forming the North Andean Federation, which doesn't have an impact but does reduce immersion.
(It also can't be easily sorted out by structuring the formation event neatly)
TurtleShroom 17 Dec, 2023 @ 9:50am
I can't believe this isn't in the Vanilla rendition. I started as a country from a Mod that accepted Mongol and Han Chinamen as Primary Cultures and, when I united the Mongols that had been divided under the Qing, I lost one of my cultures, which is a big problem when you have tens of millions of Pops that suddenly became discriminated.
MasterOfGrey 15 Dec, 2023 @ 1:21am
Truly a must-have for a handful of formables. Fantastic mod.
Pande 14 Dec, 2023 @ 10:57am
seems kinda broken, but will try
