I finally got around to the planet mod, because after a certain update of the game the planet became simply impassable - carbon dioxide disappeared from the atmosphere, without which it is impossible to grow plants.

Now a new mechanic has been added - carbon dioxide is available only during storms that increase the temperature. Daytime storms will also allow you to take nitrogen oxide from the atmosphere.

I added a lighter starter kit with additional water and oxygen, as well as an air conditioner with dirty water heated to the physical limit, which can be used as a heat exchanger. In a normal game, this allows you to warm up a 3x3 base during the day and maintain the temperature for several more days.

I don't know how much all these edits will help with your problem, but in any case, everything is more stable now, and a light starter kit should help warm up the base at the initial stage.

Recently I can't maintain the temperature on cold planets with this mod. Previously, steel and composite solved the problem. Now even in a vacuum there is a loss of heat. But in a vacuum, the body should give off heat, but not at the speed of a machine gun.
Most likely, the mod needs to be edited, repaired.

I haven't checked compatibility. I haven't updated the mod for a long time now, I'll have to check. Unfortunately, I don't spend much time on this mod now.

As for the liquid, I tried to remove it and can remove it halfway, but this will remove the fog at night, which I liked, but apparently there is no way without it, so in the near future I will adjust the settings so that the liquid does not form.

Thanks mate for fixing. I totally enjoy your world, it is really pretty and the whole getting a lot of liquid during night is a fun twist too. Curious to see how this pans out with fixes and the new liquid mechanic now. Well, at least if it still possible without breaking the game. Weekend soon, so enough time to try. :-D

And don't worry about taking your time. Personal health and life always comes first before satisfying randos on the internet. :-)

Fixed the planet, but due to the presence of liquids, I had to lower the pressure a little and slightly increase the minimum temperature

I know I promised to fix everything, but it was a tough week and I got sick towards the end, so I can't think about fixing it yet. There will be a correction in the coming days, I won’t abandon the project, I’ll just recover a little.

Yah, unfortunately last batch of updates have been targeting some specific stuff about planets, start condition, terrain, the orbital stuff and so on, so its breaking a lot....
Hard to keep up with it. I would just wait terrain changes, then wait for the usual bug fix round before attempting fixing it.

Moriturus After every game update I'm afraid that the planet will stop working) This has happened several times already o.o
Of course I won't abandon the mod and I'm a bit overloaded with work now, but I'll try to take a look and fix everything in the next 2-3 days, which I'll write about separately here in the comments.

After the recent Support the Devs Update savegames using the mod do no longer load and throw an error about missing global parameters. Probably it is incompatible with the introduced terrain system changes.

With going back to the locked pre-change branch, I could continue using it but an update would be really awesome. :-)

No need for more mods, just move it to above core, then restart.
The main menu will throw an error as the author already stated, just start and it will work fine

How do I start this? Subscribed. Game restarted. Mod is enabled in the Workshop tab. I can't see the planet in the "Select World" menu. Halp!

[Talvi] Thank you for your help, I fixed the problem, without your help I would probably have been looking for the problem for a long time.
Now there are no errors, including duplicate errors.
But unfortunately the translation has not yet been fixed and the first time (if you start again), errors are displayed. This is still from the previous update, until they get around to looking for why this is happening, but they do not affect anything.

I did some checking on the discord and found that if <Node /> is added after </Entry> in the Spacemap Id section it allows the map to be loaded (around line 84 in worldsettings). I was able to do that but I get another error "error registering duplicate DataCollection ID: HardPlanet". I'm not sure what effect that has on actually playing the planet though since it loads in fine.

Has anyone else had trouble getting the planet to load since the last update? I used to be able to load it just fine but now whether above or below CORE it longer does. This is for a new start

yes, this is the intended way, get plants for more steel, but you do start with 100charcoal so that is like 400 steel, more then enough to have a stable base

Amazing planet, but the starting inventory seems wrong - I didn't get any steel or coal to make steel, which meant that I couldn't progress

The saves are working fine, but if you go to create a new game, it throws an array out of index in the world selection menu. It still works, but something is messed up at the menu.
I think the start conditions is working fine, so no rush on this

Corrected the starter kit. Also added a small surprise (which does not affect the main difficulty of the planet) to the descent capsule =)
The only thing is that for some reason all the translation lines disappeared, although there weren’t many of them, but for now without them, now, alas, I don’t have time to understand what the problem is. The main thing was to fix the starting kit, because without a custom starting kit you can’t get through the planet.
I also noticed that Steam did not save the description of the mod in English, for which I am very ashamed, I updated the description of the mod -.-

No problems really, I would say the opposite, we might have too much charcoal and ices. Still hard, the early game is quite intense, just not super intense.

Tested the new start with stationeers difficulty. Kinda of a rush to build a room to realese the oxygen given , and a atmo kit to pump that oxygen back into the canister of your suit again. But a part from that pretty menagable so far , i'm now at day 8 and i'm starting building a proper autometed greenhouse (so far so good but still i need to see how things will go when i finsh the water given)

Can you describe in more detail what problem I am having in your first comment? Don't have enough time for development? I just don’t quite understand the problem, but if there is a problem, I don’t want to leave it.
As for a slightly different starting set, depending on the complexity of the game, this is all possible. But, alas, I haven’t played with other difficulty levels other than average, so everything needs to be checked (at least before the stage of semi-automatic water extraction, through a small excess of hydrogen released when plants rot) to be sure that the starter set will be adequate to the difficulty level.

I guess with the new start conditions options they are implementing, we might be able to get a more variable set of start items, that is independent from the difficulty selected. But guess we need to wait for it to get fully implemented first

Have to say, the intended start is actually easier then before. So before you had no access to steel, until you grow enough plants to make steel from them, and you had no access to fuel, so use your welder or capture use the arc furnace to kick start a cobal + silver combustion at the furnace. And you were under super time pressure because of the 2L of water, which make you go until day 14.

Now starting with 100 charcoal and 12L of water + 6 water bottle, and both ice for fuel. Just make it a slow start, until you get all 4 printers up. But there isn't a time pressure anymore :(

Sworn I once tried to survive on an alien planet, where the temperature was simply hellish; even in a creative environment it was extremely difficult to cool a small room; the air conditioner alone could not cope. Perhaps it is already worth using a state of aggregation transition to improve cooling.

Yah that would be nice, hot enough but below steel point so it is not that easy. Cold place at long run make it easier Imho, hot place in other hand you have no option for cooling, it is much harder to make a stirling engine out of just furnace

For now I’m working, then I’ll see what has changed there, maybe small changes. But it will be in about 6 hours, not earlier.
In any case, I won’t throw the mod.

And I read the comments, which were very pleasant))) Perhaps I will create other planets, maybe not complicated, but with a beautiful view. Swom I’m not sure about hot planets, they have their pros and cons: the pros are easy melting of metals, the cons are very rapid loss of oxygen. I want to check if the sun is physical, it will be possible to bring the planet very close to it, if it is physical and will occupy most of the sky, but it will be some kind of hellish planet 😁

Yaks, yah, you barely have enough water for yourself, first time I kill my plants and my chance to continue because I drunk all water, so second time I made sure to disconnect the water pipe from the plants and the water bottle filler. Its tight as hell. Hard to say how much water you would need, a portable tank with 740L I think it is way too much. But the starter 2L bottle is way to little.

I would mess with the start of the game like, start one game, save, make some copy of it so you don't lose them, e edit the world.xml to add more water, I did that first time adding a arc welder, but that is not needed. I just went over another world, found the item I want, and copy its data to the world.xml, just need to keep a close eye in the reference ID and parent inventory

with that mod you drink more water plants need more water and take much more time to growth , yhea don't think it's fisable with this start and mod active i will try a few vanilla run first i guess:steamhappy:
