@Bladegod. Thanks for the suggestion. I've thought about integrating all the portraits. I had planned to do a new portrait. After that, all the mods were put together, but it was suspended halfway through, so this thing has been postponed.
Maybe I'll restart the half-done mod from before recently though? When the time comes, I will do a portrait integration mod.:delsmile:

@stonefly88. I've created two new species classes that contain two identical species portraits, but one mechanical and one biological. If you want to play with the mechanical "Echoes", just click on "Create New" and select "echo_mechanical" from the species category, and you will find that their trait is "Mechanical".

To use the mechanical portraits am I supposed to select "echo: mechanical" in the species creation menu? Because the echo portraits are not showing up in the portrait selection menu in game.

@물딩딩이. If you're referring to a robot portrait created in a robot assembly factory, or a portrait change after a mechanical ascension, it doesn't seem like a no-no. These seem to be changes in the official "mechanical" category, and it seems that only by covering these portraits can they be selected in the portrait changes.:WhiteCat:

@Ronzu Rerose. You can create a new archive and see if there is a problem. I did an update on the 15th with changes to the code section, which may indeed have some impact on past saves.:cryher:

I'm having an issue, The mod was working two days ago and now the portraits are missing except for the leader in the government. i made no changes to my game. could it be because of the update?

No worries, we're all very busy. :nero: I appreciate your responses. I'm in no rush since I managed a work around for myself. I just wanted to give you the information. You probably know more than I do about the current state of species mods. But if asked, maybe splitting the 4 species into more unique species in the script, but still using the same portraits. Like Echo and Echo2. And setting Echo = BIOLOGICAL, and Echo2 = MACHINE

Might work? I'd have to sit down and try that myself, but if i'm the only one having a problem, then it's not really a big deal; since I got a workaround for myself. :lunar2019piginablanket:

@Jhekata. I seem to understand what you're saying, and I'm sorry I've had some misunderstandings about this, so I thought you were talking about another bug. After the 3.12 update, there seems to be some new changes to the mechanics, which I haven't encountered before. But I've been busy lately, so I'll need to wait until I have time before I can start trying to fix it. If you have a good solution, I hope you can help, and thank you for your help.:delsmile:

I started a new game, and disabled all mods but this one. I removed the mod and deleted it, and resubscribed, and it's still doing the issue I described. The species won't put on the machine trait, but does use other synthetic traits. And the machine assembly disappears a few months into the game, or after building a new one it disappears.
I am getting by with the changes I made, but yeah.

还挺好玩的,仿佛在玩好久以前的一个灰蛊mod特质,也是双增长,只不过长的比较慢。乐,开了盘毒圣普政机械种田:Elise_4:,p社更新的普械就没法吃排外政体的人口加速,估计机械和普政之间还有不少bug或者功能没修,肖像mod的噩梦了。:azukixmas:

智械可以正常获取机械特质,普械会与机械特质冲突,这种情况开局后,因为没有了机械特质,物种又是机械,满足各种机械判定。开局人口就是人口和机械双增长,10个月一个人口,开局即机飞是真的强

The bot seems to default to a single appearance, but it can be changed manually. It's just that my mod is not in that "robot" category, but I created a category myself, so I can't modify it to the appearance of this Echo later.

@第37号路人, I mean the normal robot pops that you unlock with tech, nothing from the new DLC.
I thought mechanical portraits would apply for them too but apparently they have their own category. Sorry for being a bit vague.

@Rein. Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're talking about. Do you mean new DLC content, or do you mean changing portraits when the game is introduced? I haven't purchased the new DLC yet, so if there's any new changes, I probably don't know.

@Jhekata. Hello and thank you for your feedback. But I don't seem to have this issue in my own trying. There have been previous mentions that the original Echo could not be used as a mechanical species, and I've tried to fix it. So I'm guessing that maybe the mod version didn't sync for some reason, and it's still the version with the wrong one. So maybe you can resubscribe to the mod and see if there are still issues. If there is still a problem, please let me know, thanks.

Okay, I changed species_class to MACHINE in two files, and that might have fixed the bugs I was experiencing using the organic portraits as Machine species.

I am using the more organic Echo portrait, it lets me select it for machine, but I think it's set as organic and so it bugs. I'm experimenting with its script.

When I build a robot assembly, it builds then disappears. And they aren't taking the machine trait when I create the empire.

@DarkShot. Hello, thank you for your correction. This is indeed a bug. It seems that the mechanical and biological properties of the species are bound together with their corresponding portraits, and ordinary Echoes can only be organisms, while mechanical Echoes can only be machines. I found a "bug". You can't select the regular Echos as machines. I've fixed this by replacing "BIOLOGICAL" in species_classes with "MACHINE". Somehow this allows me to use both portraits as regular Empire aswell as machines.

@ZeeHero. Yes, the AI painting model I use seems to only produce female portraits, and even if I ask for a male character, the AI will draw according to the female physical signs.
