This is what's inside the settings cfg file. So I legit have no idea why
Im guessing its in steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/ems.
But the only thing in that folder for me is a maps folder from a helms deep mod Im subscribed too aswell. I dont see anything for the hitmarker script or an ems folder in another other part of the directory from what I can tell. Am I missing something?

This uses a script, so, partly: It works only if you're host of the lobby i.e. singleplayer/local host
But the upside is that technically only you need the addon for everyone else to see it (in practice the other people still need it since this addon uses packaged sounds and will sound awful without it)
