glad to see this mod is still being updated, jumping ship
Ceno  [author] 23 Oct, 2024 @ 8:52am
New version is now out, this is now obsolete and will not be receiving anymore updates.
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 21 Aug, 2024 @ 3:00pm
Awesome.
Ceno  [author] 21 Aug, 2024 @ 2:59pm
Yeppers.
ÜberMorpth 21 Aug, 2024 @ 2:33pm
Ceno has a Gamemaps version of this mod on there for L4D1. Tho I assume they will also upload this "new" version there as well on Steam workshop for the second game
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 20 Aug, 2024 @ 4:41pm
Though, that would be more likely for L4D1 (if there is also a L4D1 version of the new one in the works) as that’s usually where I base my TRS-Early Valve stuff on while just using L4D2 for Vanilla+ mods.
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:50pm
You know, that sounds quite similar to what would happen to me in my game but with an early 2008 version of Louis due to the Tank AI always seeming to go for me and the bots practically being useless against Tanks lol.
ÜberMorpth 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:44pm
Damn that sounds sick! can't wait for it with me EA3 Louis to get knocked over by Police car with that 2007 Tank wooping his ass
Ceno  [author] 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:43pm
The Humvee is going to be the most painful, as not much can be seen about it except the front detailing. So I'm definitely going to be taking some leeway with that one.
Ceno  [author] 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:41pm
I also *sharp inhale* took the liberty of adding LODs to both, just for the hell of it.

The models (Taxi and Police Car) overall are on par with the Nuke Car in terms of polycount, I also attempted to make the smoothing as nice as possible, but it definitely isn't perfect. Due to how I did the second texture, the right side of the Police Car and Taxi near the front wheel look far better, and are practically seamless to the rest of the body.
Ceno  [author] 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:41pm
Ehhh, you can't imagine what I've noticed from low quality footage. I was writing a message before Steam fucking died, thanks for the timing (I know it's Tuesday though)

But I remade the Police Car and Taxi wheels, front lights, door handles, made the wheel wells slightly higher poly, redid a lot of texture work on both. While the remakes will never be 1:1, I feel much better about them than I do these. The front bumpers on both the Taxi and Police Car also had their own textures at one point, but unfortunately, I can't do much without the original textures.
ÜberMorpth 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:27pm
The interior must of looked nice then if it was properly done, if it is a thing you plan on doing that'd be the first thing I just look for and prob screen cap lol.
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:20pm
Also, what probably doesn’t help out either is the fact that footage from back then can be low-quality, making it harder to identify specific details.
Ceno  [author] 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:04pm
I'll have to review footage a bit more, but I'm sure it also had a proper interior (that wasn't flipped) and most likely had a proper glass texture. Unfortunately there's not too many shots of the Ambulance so I can only really do so much if I'm going for accuracy, and without the original textures, not much can be done to keep it faithful.
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 20 Aug, 2024 @ 3:02pm
Yeah, I wouldn't have known about the Ambulance either as the most amount of time I'd spend looking at it would be a quick glance due to running past it due to other events going on while in game.
ÜberMorpth 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:59pm
Barely noticed that about the Ambulance backdoor. I'll have to look at it in game to see it but that sounds cursed if once noticed.
Ceno  [author] 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:57pm
Yes, the Ambulance's back door stripes lined up in 2007. It can be assumed the back door actually had its own texture, it can probably be assumed the lightbar was downgraded in terms of polycount too since it's the same model work/design as the Police Car's lightbar.
ÜberMorpth 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:45pm
Same here as well, leaving this up for a Legacy version sounds like a good move. But I am very much looking forward to this new version you have planned. Makes me wonder on top of these cars if there's other props that were down scaled for the 360 release. (I kinda just want more prop stuff from you in general, that Microwave one you did is one of my favorites lmao)
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:40pm
Interesting, I look forward to seeing the newer version of this when the time comes then.
Ceno  [author] 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:30pm
It will be, once I finish my updates. I'll probably make this a legacy version of the mod, and make a new workshop page. But I'm not proud of these at all lol.
Daniel Diego Dare the Gamer 20 Aug, 2024 @ 2:23pm
Peak Vanilla+ content.
SquidFromAsia 16 Aug, 2024 @ 12:08am
peak
ÜberMorpth 4 Aug, 2024 @ 10:23am
Ah I see, I'd only asked as I liked they didn't touch em honestly. Mostly since I use the "Counter-Strike: Source Car for '82 Hatchback" mod (You know gotta CS:S it up as that plus your mod here goes well together after some testing) but I assume like you stated: Have plans to do something a bit similar to that or more, I'd be very interested in either way seeing your own take on it with that other project.
Ceno  [author] 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:51am
Yeah, I do have plans to eventually modify those though. I already have for another project I've been working on. I'm also going back and redoing the Police Car, Taxi, and Humvee.
ÜberMorpth 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:11am
Also to ask for a very specific obvious thing about this mod. I didn't see any of those '82 Hatchback cars in the preview pictures so I assume those are untouched by this mod?
ÜberMorpth 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:08am
You know I saw this on the gamemaps for L4D1 and figured: "Damn Ceno at it again, wish it was for L4D2" Somehow I never thought to look it up on here. Silly me

Thanks I'll send it over when done
Ceno  [author] 3 Mar, 2024 @ 9:14am
I don't mind at all
Blue Mr Gutsy 3 Mar, 2024 @ 4:58am
I'd make sure to give you credit and have a link to the original add on
Blue Mr Gutsy 3 Mar, 2024 @ 4:58am
Would you be okay if I were to port this to Garry's Mod?
Ceno  [author] 29 Feb, 2024 @ 7:53am
I'd assume it's differences in the physics model.
Ceno  [author] 29 Feb, 2024 @ 5:35am
I will try fixing that as well later, not sure what's up about that.
snorrki 29 Feb, 2024 @ 5:11am
Everything is great except for the fact that when you stand on top of the van the screen starts to jitter around so i tend to avoid standing on it due to that, this doesn't happen in single player.
Blue Mr Gutsy 26 Feb, 2024 @ 4:59pm
Thank you for making this add on!
Zhrike 26 Feb, 2024 @ 4:06pm
Finally, been looking for something like this.
Ceno  [author] 21 Feb, 2024 @ 10:04pm
Steam wouldn't let me curse :(

God what was I on last night when I wrote that. I probably will make separate versions of each vehicle down the line.

Cool :D
MattBny 19 Feb, 2024 @ 8:49pm
quite a banger
Ceno  [author] 19 Feb, 2024 @ 8:43pm
This replaces the Humvee, Police Car, and Taxi. Along with the Nuke Cars (in maps that use them), Semi Truck, Utility Truck, and Van with envmap/texture adjustments.
RɅiZΞN 19 Feb, 2024 @ 8:40pm
Are all the L4D1 vehicles replaced? or just a selective ones
Kedama! 19 Feb, 2024 @ 8:04pm
Respect for doing this yo.
