Irrigation and Compost Fertilizer

This seems to be preventing manure from being used as a fertilizer. I have to make compost to perform any fertilizing.

Does this stop manure from being a fertilzer?

Any chance for an update? Right now the bots won't do anything related to water. My farm is ran mostly by Harvest bots and having them water would be great

@lukeh_ro

Agreed on time being a resource, but here would be my counter to that -- automation is a resource investment with the express purpose of allowing labor to be re-allocated elsewhere. Same way I build Delivery Drones so colonists dont spend so much time lugging stuff around themselves, but its an expense in that it requires electricity and components and metal, and its an ongoing cost with its own problems included.

But I think I see where you're coming from now, like, Rimworld is a 2D game with an engine that allows for custom made "pipework" buildings for moving resources directly from place to place, whereas Stranded likely doesn't have the engine capability for such features.

You might ask me: If you like Rimworld's way so much why dont you play that and not Stranded? To which my answer is one emphatic word: Verticality.

Added compost, a fertilizer that can be obtain from hay in fermentation barrels.

@Rat Wife
Something like sprinklers would be indeed nice but kind of hard to implement... we'd need a model and a way to build them on top of fields which would be quite different than anything in game. On other hand water is a free resource and I don't quite want to make irrigation bonus something free to get, in this game time is the main resource you need to balance so irrigating would be a decision on how to balance your colonists time for the bonus... even if I make something like sprinklers I would consider somehow to make colonists handle them.

I think the lack of sprinklers is pretty big hindrance when it comes to field irrigation. It feels like something I can only practically enable for crops that I want to squeeze every drop of growth speed out of, like crystals and glittercap.

If it's not too much trouble, consider adding them, it would make large scale crop irrigation consume far less labor time.

Thanks man! I got back from a 800km round trip to be surprised by this!

Thanks a lot :)

Awesome, thanks!

Changed Saltu to be similar to other regions
lukeh_ro  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 12:40pm
You seem right indeed. In vanilla on Saltu there's no bonus to growth effect once the rain stops, on other regions the bonus effect persists for a time after the rain stops. Irrigation uses the same region parameter so the effect stops immediately...
Not sure how I missed that, strange and I will look into.
On other hand the bonus effect to growth on Saltu even during the rain is very small, the devs seem to intended for this region to be different from this perspective...
Mantastic 25 Aug, 2024 @ 10:35pm
Also getting the same issue on Saltu. Says no water, even though they're performing the action.
Capt. Picolinni 11 Jul, 2024 @ 1:58am
This was working great a week ago, no issues. Now on Saltu saves my fields are saying 'No Water' even when it is raining.
Tharbad08 17 May, 2024 @ 7:02pm
Can you allow the bots to irrigate too?
Baka-gaijin 12 Apr, 2024 @ 1:27am
LOL i was expecting automated sprinklers
Demitrious 30 Mar, 2024 @ 10:26pm
What skill is 'irrigate'? My people that are meant to stay in the camp are leaving their preferred jobs and watering the plants...
Valar Morghulis 4 Mar, 2024 @ 3:42am
Of course you need the water MOD!!!
Valar Morghulis 4 Mar, 2024 @ 3:39am
Yes, the information is there, take a closer look, for me it's like this: for example, 60 out of 200 fruits were watered. If there is no water, then you can irrigate it, if it has been irrigated, the text "no water" disappears, everything is in the same menu as every farm
jlorentsen main 2 Mar, 2024 @ 11:55am
I have "Irrigate" checked and plenty water available, but can't see any indicator for Irrigation progress. I would think it would be next to the "Fertilized Plants"
I would show You a screenshot, but don't see the option here :-)
Valar Morghulis 2 Mar, 2024 @ 9:14am
All you have to do is allow people to water (similar to fertilizing) in the field, then they can see how many tiles are already finished
jlorentsen main 2 Mar, 2024 @ 6:23am
All my fields have a "No Water" indicator. What am I doing wrong?
Valar Morghulis 29 Feb, 2024 @ 3:38am
nice
