In the Suggestions Discussion, I have put a way to do it so that it checks if one exists, and adds it ONLY if it does exist.
I really liked your mod, everything is very well balanced! If you want (and if possible), I can create a translation into Brazilian Portuguese.
If you are interested, send me a message
@SalmonToastie I feel an underappreciated aspect of rimworld is the ability for stories to naturally form in the gameplay. I want this trait mod to focus on that design philosophy, so as I learn more Ill try to lean into it
As in Project Zomboid's Dynamic Traits.
What kind of traits were you looking for? If I find what you want interesting im likely to add it in some form
Well, more traits is something I don't mind.
@FrozenSnowFox I saw the MayRequire thing when I was rooting around rimworld to get a grasp of it all, Im glad to know that my hunch of that being tied to dlc stuff wasnt wrong. Im working on the meditation stuff at the moment but if the dlc stuff is as easy as it seems then Ill shift to that. I dont wanna put my stuff behind and indirect pay wall haha. And thank you for telling me about that discord, if/when I get super stuck on something Ill ask my betters for advice
In regards to versions and DLC stuff. Below are some links that should help you. Typically the best way to handle version/dlc is to use a LoadFolders.xml which allows you to tell the game where it should load files from. For things like patches or dlc specific fields on defs you can use MayRequire, which allows you to specify a packageid of a required mod/dlc for the content to be used.
A lot of the more popular mods make use of these features so you can use them as reference if need be. If you need any help I'd suggest you check out mod development channel on the unofficial discord. People are always happy to help people out on there.
