it's always bugged me that the bretonnian lord model changes colour depending on what mount you have selected. without a mount, the lord has the correct faction colours. this is the only mod i've found whereby lords can equip mounts without screwing with their faction colours so for being able to scratch this really niche itch, i'm a yuge fan for this alone

Empire clown outfits?! They're based off the landsknecht. The vanilla models look better than your overly-armored bastardizations. Leave the extra armor to the greatswords :D

this game is a horrible introduction to warhammer, better to try battlemarch or just look at old art work from previous editions.

It used that warhammer directly took actual suits of armours and weapons and just pasted them in theirs fictions.
Deformed armors and weapons were mostly only for chaos.
Now everything is deformed.
Which just annihilate the main point of this fictions and make everyone into degenerate who whorships chaos through theirs gears and clothing style.

UPDATED FOR 5.3

The main version of the mod should be working and the No Legendary Characters version, I'll fix and update the other two alternate versions of the mod soon. Let me know if there are any bugs!

@the master of lies: Hey my bad too, I got a little too heated with other things when I wrote that comment. Glad you found the fix for your setup, custom animation mods are always a high risk high reward deal when you use them, especially with other mods. But yeah it is best to test mods sometimes one by one for issues (or turn on/off ones that affect similar things).

Ok, i just checked.
I only loaded your mod with console mod, it worked.
then i did some further testing and discovered what the problem was.

its a mod that i had called: "custom battle animations" or something similar.
i have +30 mods on and assumed it was your mod,
this is because i avoid battle effecting mods except for AI tweaks.

so i would like to apologize,
i am sorry, i just assumed it was your mod and did no testing.

@the master of lies: Hey I just spent way too long to find out what I already suspected which is that my mod has no effect on the dwarf shieldwall animations. The animations only begin to play when the battle starts, thereafter the shieldwall takes effect when the unit is moving or bracing (to what I saw). If your shieldwall animations are still bugged it is not because of my mod, next time please run some tests yourself before reporting an issue like this, I've had to load in and out and in again to the game multiple times to check whether some issues are my problem or a sub's mod setup.

its a meme channel, but thumbnail should be accurate.

btw, you can use the console mod and type: "techall" to unlock the tech,
you can also type: "add axp 9" or "add avp 9" to make them rank 9.

if you start as Thorek Ironbrow you can have some ironbreakers turn 1 to test with.
i do recomand to hover unit card before hand just to be 100% certain you have the tech that turn.

@the master of lies: Hey I haven't really gotten far enough in a campaign with the dwarfs to get the shield wall ability but to my knowledge the vanilla game just doesn't have unique shield wall raising animations for the dwarfs, you may want to turn off this mod and look at how it works in the base game. And side note I didn't alter any animations for the dwarfs so that may be a sign that its just CA's problem.

hello, there seems to be a bug with the dwarfs and shieldwall for normal dwarf shield warriors.
not to certain about longbeards and ironbreakers.

the bug is that the whole shield formation animation is just missing.
you can see it getting activated, you can see it active, you can even see them move into a more tight formation. but they wont raise their shield.

@ElegantMud: Hey glad you like them! So I'm ending work on Fantasy Up-Armoured reskins in favor for my expansive and detailed individual reskins that I am currently working on. Because of how I am organizing the new mods I won't be including hero or lord reskins in them, so the plan is that I will make a small hero, lord, and legendary character reskin pack whenever the first new reskin is finished. However, it will take time as progress is going slower than anticipated and I got no timeline as of now, so I may consider releasing the character pack early but we'll see.

@DrewOneness: Hey I ran some tests and the animation issue seems to be only for the high elf spearmen animations and it actually isn't a modding issue. Seems to be a bug on CA's part, hopefully they fix it soon.

@DrewOneness: I'll have another look then later today but Im 99.9% sure that the spears for the the three elves all work fine. Just make sure that you don't have any mods that effect the stats of them, your issue is especially weird because I've only swapped the animations for the bleakswords and the dreadspears, no other elven spear unit.

@The Sirly Hunter: No animation mods in use. My mod list is pretty much small quality of life things + your amazing mod. I turned off all other reskins once I found your mod! There is nothing else that effects units/battles.

For context:

The spear units hold the spear about 3/4 of the way up the shaft, and jam the tip through their faces, then it snaps back to the normal animated and repeats.

I have a full change list in the discussions tab that will detail everything that was changed, so you can work out what variant you need and sort other reskins. I've never played too much with load orders but I think you're right if you put the other stuff above this mod it may work but it is screwy sometimes.

As for the screenshots, I already have 50 images in here and again I don't want to do too much work outside of making the mod itself, plus I want to give people some stuff to see on their own.

@sigmars_disciple: First off, glad you like the mod, yeah this one my largest projects yet and I've done all the work myself, all with in-game assets and only a few recolored textures.

So yeah this mod page is for the full reskin, officers, voice changes, and animation swaps. The other versions all work independently from one another, basically no need for this version for assets or anything like that. The other versions are No Legendary Characters (no reskins for legendary lords or heroes), No Characters (no reskins for legendary lords and heroes, and generic lords and heroes), and the most compatible version No Characters and Officers, (no reskins for legendary lords and heroes, generic lords and heroes, and no animation swaps, officers, or voice changes). Again, you only need one of these based on your preference if you want to use any other reskins that affect any of that.

Oh, is the "No Characters" version that I would use if I use other mods that mess with VANILLA characters' 3D models and/or unit cards at the same time, like the excellent Variants mod by Snek for EMP, KIS, BRT & DWFs or the Black Rabbit variants for Vampire and Elven lords?

I guess if such a mod was used alongside this comp mod here, smth could happen like this reskin overwriting changes Snek's mod makes to a character's 3D model, but not his campaign map his unit card or porthole which come from Snek's mod and wouldn't fit??

Either way, bro: You can honestly be very proud of what you built here!! <3

Simple question, closing out: I guess if I want a one-stop solution, this here is my best starting point obviously - and to mix with a few other race reskins, the cleaner approach will be the individual .pack files for races, right?

But what's the use case is for the "No Leg Chars" one I'm not sure? Many users have some fav lords and *need* to run a particular reskin for them. I get that. But for that usecase I would activate THIS version, activate the 5 LL reskins and make sure they're all above this mod in LO. That should do it, no?

I'd have 1 suggestion for the fantastic screenshot section: Showcase for a FEW races multiple characters that will all be affected by this reskin (very interesting piece of info) in one shot - but don't only show "B" (with this mod) but ideally also "A" (same chars, same spot on the battlefield, same angle/lighting/postpro FX, but vanilla siins).... If possible Thx <3

OMG OMG Just had an extended browse of the many screenshots here... I would consider myself a bit of a nerd when it comes to modding this game (despite my lousy potato PC) but bro, I slept on this one until recently. It was easy to see instantly that this is quality work when I subscribed

@Mayonnaise Musician: Hey so I think you may have some sort of lightning or texture issue because the "ninja masks" you describe are repurposed face plates from the shadow warriors and their color is silver for me, they match fine with the helmets on my end. Make sure your unit detail is maxed out, also if your texture quality is too low that may cause issues. But I have no plans to change the High Elves as of now, I'm currently focusing my efforts on Norsca, Chaos, and Amethyst Ironsides.

BTW by ninja mask I mean the black masks used by silverin guard, silver helms, archers, and others. another suggestion I have is if you want a full helmet style, would be to use the swordmasters of hoeth fully closed helm, and perhaps take the mouth piece and mold it to the helm you want

Just started a high elf campaign, like the reskin. I was wondering if you could change the color of the ninja masks for the high elf infantry? the black masks seem out of place with the silver/metallic armor, maybe just recolor to silver/white to blend it better? or could you make a version with no masks? I literally just got done with beating a Karl Franz campaign and then found this mod. I really wish I had it sooner! I love the reskins for the empire and dwarfs. Great job man, i like the attention to detail for the regiments of renown and elector count units. Now I got to start up a new empire campaign

@Inerael: Hey glad you like the mod, so I have gotten a couple complaints regarding the helmets in the past and while I do understand why people dislike them, I personally think the helmets fit well with their accompanying models. I did also use Eternal Wood Elves before I started modding and I know the helmets you are referring to, problem is that I do want to make my own look for the Wood Elves so that they are distinguishable from other reskins. I have not taken a look inside the files of that mod yet so I do not know how that helmet design was kitbashed by maybe I'll take a look.

I'm also glad you like the Ironsides because it took me some time to iron out what they should look like reskinned, I still have the amethyst ones to do by that will be coming soon whenever I find time to reskin Chaos and Norsca.
