These are set to append so they will add in addition to what's there already

will this replace the characters or add a brand new fresh 40 characters ?

Ok I edited all the character files here to reflect the proper naming convention, and tested it with a singular character, which worked. Sorry about the confusion on this one guys, I was confident I had it figured out but I had misunderstood.

For anyone planning on uploading custom characters, you have to edit the lines in the character file to reflect the author name and mod name on steam, not the mod folder name in your uploader directory..

I thought I had to point it to the asset directories in the mod, but for a custom asset line you just have to put "Custom/[Author]-[Steam Mod Name]/asset.png",
So for example the line that makes the Hooters logo show up as a body pattern is:
"Custom/Ophidic-Fast Food Character Pack/Hooters1.png",

Anyway, it's been a bit of a process but now I can go back and update the other characters so they work as well.

Thanks again for everyone's patience and hopefully you guys have some fun with this.

I've been putting the path to the assets wrong this whole time and I thought I fixed it and I was advisedagain that my pathing is incorrect. it'll take a bit to fix, but i'm gonna get on that right away here and I'll post again when I'm done

Hello, I'm having an issue where the assets are not set towards the characters. I've done a lot to try and get it to work (resetting my save, re-downloading the mod/game, etc) I wanna use this mod but I really don't wanna have to DIY it, but if I have to I will understand.

Ok, I changed the directory structures in the text of the .character files on the advice of one of the code modders, so now that should hopefully work ok for you.

In addition I realized I made the same mistake on the Jack Black CAW, no now his assets should auto assign themselves.

Most of the other caws I uploaded before I realized I had to edit the character files to make the assets auto assign, so unfortunately those are still DIY a little bit, but when I got time I should go through all of them and make them a little more user friendly.

Hope it works and you have fun! :steamhappy:

Your welcome! Yeah it turns out I had a piece missing from the text within the character files and that's what is causing it.

I'll be updating this later today, thanks for bringing the issue to my attention!

No problem. Thanks

I'll check into this more and the sesame street one as well. I've asked on the mosdding discord what else could be causing this issue

I'll also try subscribing to a few of my character mods to see what happens.

Sorry about this :/

I tried again but it didn't work. I deleted my save files and unsubscribed from all mods then deleted all mods from my folder directory. Then re-installed the game and subscribed to your fast food mod but unfortunately the mod still doesn't work. When i start the game (play modded) i can see it loads some items and textures but it doesn't add any characters to my roster. I tried your Elon Musk and Taylor swift characters and those 2 work and show up in my roster but i did have to manually select their faces in the editor because they started with generic/different faces on which only only took a minute to sort so it's not a problem. Anyway yeah so i can't get this mod to work and i think others must have tried your sesame street pack and that might not be working either. This fast food mod pack looks like a great and funny pack so I'm guessing the lack of comments on here about this pack is because no one has tried this or got it working. Thanks

I checked that the character files are in the correct spot and I noticed the "import" directory had a capital I and i'm not sure if that is case sensitive, so I changed that at least. Hopefully that does 'er.

Let me know! :)
ophidic  [author] 3 Apr, 2024 @ 5:30pm
Oh that's weird, I'll double check that the characters are in the import folder and I'll report back soon.

Hi. Looks like a funny mod but i can't get the characters to show up in the roster. I've used other mods and they work fine but this one doesn't. I see that it's imported the items over and i can see the logos and costume items in the character editor but there is no actual fast food characters in the roster. Please help. Thanks
