@Tirith Amar: That's a completely different thing, though. I want to just have a single species or two as pets regardless of my other actions, not build an entire society around caring for life forms.

Personally, I think it would be nice if gestalts could have pets. It would be nice to have an alternative to displacement/genocide, and I could imagine a scenario where a gestalt power (hivemind or robotic) found the idea of sapient creatures fascinating, and kept some around as pets.

Also, xenophobes should totally be able to enjoy having a sentient pet since they're assholes, and xenophiles who are full of themselves might view this as a form of charity. This is a RP heavy mod, so there's no need to restrict things.

The only way this can be improved is allowing me to make pre-sapients pets - like that's a lot more ethical than spaient pets

I've got a bit of an idea for an alternative way of handling pet slavery, or at least, some stuff that could be added into this

> Increases happiness from free pops heavily, unless they have xenophobe or xenophile ethics, albeit both for differing reasons.
> Produce amenities
> Have no political power of any kind
> Pet slaves themselves have lowered happiness
> Hiveminds and other gestalts cannot have pets, nor can they become pets.

The unity cost is too high, but I do like the idea here. Can genocidal races, machine intelligences, and hive minds use this? It would be great for RP reasons if the unity cost goes down a bit.

The mod is called Various Servant Jobs, but the 2 I am most interested in are the Reproductive Servant and the VR Slave jobs.

Reproductive is relatively self explanatory, it increases pop growth by a decent chunk at the cost of happiness, political power (like a lot), and absurd food upkeep.

VR Slave used to give admin cap, but in the patch version I use which is for after the change, it instead decreases the impact of Admin penalties. theirs sometimes breaks tho if you have too many on the job, making it decrease admin penalties by -400%... which hurts.

but yeah, those two are just really fun to me.

its a much older mod, i use someones hot fix for 3.12 or something, but one of the slave jobs is a "pet" job thats like yours, but is both consumer goods (.01) and unity (2) for 6 amenities and take up -.08 housing, so putting like 100 gives you 8 housing.

I was curious because my next question was going to be if you were going to do the other job types. I can link it if you want me to to take a look

is this based on the more servants jobs mod? the one that adds more livestock, more residents, and more slave types (or seperately if you dont get the collection)?

@Kilasm The first screenshot is from a UNE game so purge is not allowed by default , removing the option from the menu.

@Kilasm To answer your question, no, the "Domestic Pets" citizenship type does NOT replace the purge type. Just added new screenshots to show this.
