If this is just a case of miscommunication, and you see in the mod title "Patch 15" and assume it wont work because that's not the most recent patch, or because the R2 mod manager puts a big yellow sign over my mod; don't be discouraged. Unit packs are pretty patch survivable, and unless CA gutted the game balance again things should be relatively fine.

Some users have recommended using a third party mod manager for R2 instead of the inhouse one, you can find one pretty easily on TWC I think I just don't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

To elaborate, if two mods use the same resource, EG a texture for armor or what have you, and one of those mods modifies it without renaming it, then this can cause a crash. One mod doesn't seem to win out over the other and the change is not simply used for both, I've had to tag all of my files to try to reduce the chance of conflicts with other mods. It can't be helped though if they import something from mine, change it, and keep the same tags, which is a possibility given my mods are open source.

If you are getting a crash on startup for R2, then you need to isolate which mod might be causing it. If you have absolutely 0 other mods, including ones that aren't on the workshop or activated through the launcher (like a movie pack file), and your game crashes when you use my mods, then I'm a bit stumped but I'd look into it. I do not think that is the case since some people are able to launch their games with my mods, the most common cause I've had for CTD"s on startup came down to conflict with other mods. They would share resources with mine, specifically using resources from my mod or from other mod makers and then modifying them.

All that said I don't get much free time these days, I usually spend it sleeping, so putting a couple hours in developing a mod after work isn't feasible for me, nevermind actually playing the game.

Heh, okay, after a 100 'update pls' messages let me just say, I am occupied with work full time right now. Working retail during the holiday season. Simply asking me to update the mod without telling me what's wrong or what's not working means I have to play test them all which I don't have time for. The mods still work, as far as I can tell from comments, working for some, not for others. If there is a specific issue you are having, or if one of the new patches either modified unit recruitment, made a unit obsolete, or something like that, please tell me in the comments. It's easy enough for me to load up the pack file manager and adjust table values iby comparing them to the vanilla ones, if it's something like that. I do not have time however to play test or add new content. As it stands I still need to empty my data folder and reinstall my other mods (not the unit packs) to even get the game to run since the patch before the new DLC broke my other personal use compilations.

the bactria update gets rid of my bactrian peltasts in custom and campaign and I can't figure out why for the life of me. Any idea? I want my afghani skirmishers, damnit.

has anyone tried to continue an post-patch16-campaign with this mod? sadly its not updated for the newest patch and i have an armenian legendary campaign going which i dont want to corrupt. i really like the unit variety given by this mod and i appreciate your work but could you plz update it if possible? or is it save to use this mod with patch 15 savegames?

Hey Smarmy ! First of all, i'd like to say your units packs are all excellent, and the initiative of creating an all-in-one mod is greatly appreciated. However, i'd like to point our that some units still have their odd vanilla look, while others get that cool reskin of yours.
I'm actually thinking about Thorax Swordsmen : Bactrian and Spartan swordsmen look awesomely cool with their greek-style chainmail, while Athens' and Syracuse's still carry on with their odd celtic mail. Do you think you could give them a more Greek-like feeling ?

Well done! :)

The only thing I would love to chang is the armor of the libyan infantry from Carthage to a complete white armor like the naval hoplites from Athen have it and their shields (from Athen).
Until now they look like they are from the Middle Ages in every version...
A lot of Carthage fans would love it!


So if its possible and you have some time for it it would be great.

Big fan of the work you've done, Smarmy, especially the Pontus roster, which is lacking in vanilla, to say the least. I hope that you have plans to expand your work into factions that have been severely neglected unit-wise by CA, most prominently: Galatia, the Odrysian Kingdom, and Ardiaei. I would cut-off my left foot for an overhauled Galatia roster, since they're in such an interesting place to play, but have such a tiny selection of units.

My mods should be compatible with all other mods, just when my mod tries to modify the same thing as another mod, like a vanilla units stats, or an appearance, one mod will overwrite the other. The only possible cause of a crash I've encountered is when other mods attempt to use my resources and then modify them without changing their name. For example they like one of my variantmeshes for armor, or a texture I'm using, maybe one of my texture modifications. They import it into their own pack, change it, but leave the name the same. So when our two mods load, conflict happens.

Already working on Egypt for one, but nothing definitive. I don't have much free time so I change bits and pieces here and there in one of my personal mod pack files.
