are you planning to add angled wall compatibility utilizing the Angled Hull Expansion mod which allows modded walls to work like grav ship hull walls?
Monkey Magic  [author] 2 hours ago
Cool, lemme know if you see any others doing that. Like I said, I fixed them all locally (probably, I have like 70+ mods D: ) but iunno if any others failed up update the capitalisation of the common folder.
Spelllord 2 hours ago
Yeah now its capitalised.
Thanks.
Monkey Magic  [author] 2 hours ago
Oh, don't worry about that texture, it's just the icon that shows up when your world is loading. It's nothing important to worry over. If you are playing on Linux , or SteamDeck you are probably having the capitalisation issue.

Hmm, looks like I already went ahead and fixed that for all my Mods locally, but Steam has this issue where it will not update if the only change is a file/folder's letter case. Hmm, lemme try something first...

EDIT: Okay, so I went ahead and created a dummy file to try and fool Steam into thinking the mod has had an actual update. Iunno if this will work for you Linux users - try unsubbing and resubbing too - but if it still does not you can fix it yourself by opening your local files (you can do this from the mod selection screen) and renaming the file "common" to "Common."

That will solve the issue ^^

There is no Conflict.
1. Its happening even its the only mod loaded
2. An "Could not load Texture2D at `Things/Building/Icon/WYD...` in any active mod or in base recources" Error ist not high enough that its an Conflict.

I have an idea why its happening now für me and not eralier, I switched back to the Linux version today, it can be that there is a different handling.
And I have seen from a rushed view that most mods I use do there Textures not in Common but in /.
Monkey Magic  [author] 6 hours ago
@Spelllord - What are you talking about? If there was an error with the texture file path, it would be throwing up red errors stating as much. I would never have uploaded a mod in that state. The mod is working fine.

If you are having an issue, please consider your mod list, and look for a conflict. Try the mod on its own, and you'll see there fault does not lie here. I always enable this mod in my own runs, and there has never been a problem.

I have it that the Path to the Textures ist false. My Solution is moving the Textures folder one level higher.

@Electro-Sloth - I'm assuming the "airtight" thing was added by the Odyssey DLC. I'll take a look at it over weekend.

EDIT - I uploaded an update for this earlier today. All the walls that have an airtight vanilla version will be reflected for the fortified, reinforced, and in the case of the companion mod's bulkhead wall. The same does not apply to the embrasures, of course as these are full of holes :P
Electro-Sloth 25 Jul @ 4:38pm
Small 'bug' I noticed is that the metal walls aren't considered airtight. Like how normal steel walls say that they're airtight in the info tab, but the walls added by the mod, even if it's made of steel, say that they aren't. Would it be possible to fix this? (obviously not including the embrasures lmao)
Monkey Magic  [author] 19 May @ 4:10pm
@Jack Kenseng - If you are asking if hostile pawns can shoot through the holes in the wall, well since it's a hole both sides can attempt to shoot through it of course.

But, really depends on the AI. Sometimes an attack will come and they will try to bash on the wall, even if they have guns equipped. Other times they will try to shoot through, just the same as your pawns do. Some times it's a mix of both.

The key here is angles. Don't run a wall full of embrasures, that defeats the purpose. Try building one ever three blocks at maximum, so you have wall conver on either side - or better yet, just have a few in the entire wall to focus fire from.

These things aren't designed to make one invulnerable, they are to give them better cover, especially when the enemy is still further away. Up close, the benefit is not so much.
Jack Kenseng 19 May @ 2:26pm
Will raids shoot at colonists through the embrasures? I seen an 8 year old discussion that they used to totally break the AI. How are things now with said AI?
Fluffer 22 Jan @ 4:12am
Would it be possible to add a slider to Mod options to configure cost and HP?
Monkey Magic  [author] 19 Jan @ 7:22am
@Fluffer - Um, what? The costs are listed above. If it's a steel wall, maybe coz it's 12 stuff +5 steel. The stuff count is reduced intentionally due to advances in building technology. The additional steel represents the supporting framework (steel girders)
Fluffer 19 Jan @ 2:56am
A Fortified wall costs 20 steel for a HP of 900. A reinforced wall costs 17 steel for 1200. I think a tweak of it being 20 + 5 steel is needed

@zig158

Thanks

The textures are invisible on Linux and you get some nice red text in the log. To fix it go into the mod folder and change the "common" folder name to "Common". The mod developer can fix this but it is a pain because he is clearly using Windows. For him to fix it he will need to delete the common folder and upload that broken mod version and then add it back with the correct name and upload it again.

Thank you for supporting this amazing mod! I really appreciate it!

@Kyrox - By this, I assume that Steamdeck runs on Linux then? Fair enough. I have made the change to the folders on my end, but unfortunately Steam does not see changing the lower case to a capital on the folder big enough of a change to actually save the new file.

After uploaded the mod again with the case change, I downloaded it, but the folder remained as lower case. This of you having issues with Linux , I suggest you make this change yourself, and please let me know if this fixed things for you
Kyrox 21 May, 2024 @ 9:25pm
@Horhyzon Linux treats the Rimworld mod folder differently. For example, if one of the folders in the mod folder doesn't have a capitol letter, it won't load the folder. This was an issue with Fortifications Neolithic as well on the Steam Deck. Check the folder structure.
Tuck Davis 8 May, 2024 @ 8:57am
Thanks for the continuation !
Angrysquirrel 3 May, 2024 @ 8:03pm
Thanks dude!
Horhyzon 2 May, 2024 @ 7:28pm
I should have added that. It is still there in the save. It is just gone when everything is loaded in on a Steam Deck.
Monkey Magic  [author] 26 Apr, 2024 @ 4:54pm
@Horhyzon - gone from the save entirely (have you tried saving on the steam deckand loadin back on PC) or just not visible on the Steam Deck? Coz my guess is it's probably a hardware thing - nothing I can do on my end
Horhyzon 24 Apr, 2024 @ 2:41pm
Can confirm. Loaded PC save on Steam Deck. All reinforced walls are gone.
Monkey Magic  [author] 23 Apr, 2024 @ 3:38am
@grisly crusader - I would suggest trying the alone to see if there's a conflict with another you have installed, but iunno much about how the steamdeck works in relation to mods, so iunno how to help with that :/
gof4ckurse1f 22 Apr, 2024 @ 11:47pm
hello bro i am playing on steamdeck and has a problem with ur mod. i dont see the reinforced wall. i see only shadow of the wall. my colonist can walks trough wall. sorry for my bad english

thank you
Hebrux 13 Apr, 2024 @ 10:39am
thanks for carrying on the mod!
Monkey Magic  [author] 12 Apr, 2024 @ 6:49am
@cyano - since I started from scratch I effectively dumped all that stuff too XD Essentially, my version a continuation with upgrades (Medieval > Industrial). Just finished a patch to tie in with Synthetic Polymers for an upgrade to Spacer tech ^^

Coz modding is fun :P

@Gerewoatle - No worries.
Gerewoatle 12 Apr, 2024 @ 5:39am
@Monkey Magic - Apologies, "materially" in this sense means "substantially". I didn't know if this was made as a deliberate alternative to Cyano's continuation or simply another continuation.

I do realize now that the main difference is which version of the mod is being continued, so thank you for the answer and clarification.
cyano 12 Apr, 2024 @ 5:35am
Since NECEROS is the original author, I based my work on theirs. The C# was only used for mod settings. I removed all C# code and the dll, and added mod settings using XML Extensions.
Monkey Magic  [author] 12 Apr, 2024 @ 4:33am
I started working on this last night when Kinetic tail posted they would not be updating to 1.5. I had to rework it from scratch since iunno how assemblies work, but I kept the label names, figuring maybe it would work out. I added some extra stuff too.

I dunno much about Cyano's version, since I have not looked into it. I saw the post on Reinforced Walls page though. Since they are working from another older version, chances are they are using assemblies and stuff still, so yeah.

With regards to "materially" if you are asking about stuffcosts, you can read that in the description. If you are asking about features, that's up there too.
Gerewoatle 12 Apr, 2024 @ 4:15am
Is this materially different from Cyano's version? https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3215305656
Monkey Magic  [author] 12 Apr, 2024 @ 4:13am
I have made a 1.4 version since I had to downgrade to play my save files coz a fair whack of mods have not updated yet. I will test it a bit further, then reupload with the 1.4 version added for those in a similar situation
