When I tried this mod with helicopters, the physics got very laggy and my velocity updated at about 0.5Hz. I don't mean display velocity, I mean your actual velocity only updates every two seconds and you completely lose control of your aircraft during that time. The slow update also meant that third person view gets shaky because it reacts to sudden accelerations in that way. Anyways, this mod is broken for me.

yes this is single player only. i have tried it multiplayer a couple times and havent made it multiplayer because of performace hits and locality issues that i didnt spend time figuring out.
i have modified the wind strength a couple times in the past to make it less strong. im wondering if it has to do with using a time modifier to adjust for running at different fps. i will add a option to scale wind strength in game.
as for running with other mods. i cant guarantee compatability. i did change stuff so that event handlers dont conflict with other mods/game scripts as much as possible. but if other mods such as the glider plane have custom classes they might be outside the range of objects that have wind applied to them.

ill add in an option to turn off the wind indicator. ive been sitting on a update that will improve compatibilty with other mods and improve performance. ill try and get around to updating it within the next week.

i havent updated this in a while i have a more updated version that tones the wind down a little. ill go over that and upload it soon. also the reason for it being so strong was that the wind is just on a scale of 0-100% and i wasnt really sure what 100% should be so i just made the wind at 100% a bit overkill.

Very good mod, hope you will wontinue to improve it! 2 things to improve: 1) Wind is too powerful when in a helicopter. 2) AI flight helicopters are lagging

I understnad from a Google search for "arma 3 cba mod" that "CBA" is an acronym for "Community Base addons" [A3].

If correct then it's a "MOD" for ARMA3 and I assume the author of NAS_WIND included the instruction in their description "Requires CBA" to alert us to the fact that his mod is dependant on functions provided by CBA.

We need to download and activate the mod, (by installing it correctly) to enable his MOD to work.

I agree with the forces of the winds being a bit excessive. I know it'll be a lot of work from a programming standpoint but the effects of the wind should be based off of surface area exposed to the wind (drag).

Nice job on this. It's a really good mod and forces you to evaluate landing zones with a lot more scrutiny. I really hate the rotor stall, but that's realism for you (and necessary). Do you mind uploading this to playWithSix? Or do you mind if I do?

i was thinking of that before and could do it pretty easily just havent gotten around to it. there were some other features that others asked for(down wash from other helicopters and such) and ill add them eventually. i was also thinking of making this a dll so that it didnt take such a big hit on the preformance of the game. if i end up doing the dll sometime soon maybe ill release as a serverside mod
