Fixed Normalmaps

I figured it out. The fix doesn't work if you're just subscribed to it. You have to use the custom folder solution, might want to mention that in the description.

Well trust me shadows were inverted before, i also did just check and no they didnt fix it since you got me guessing myself even if its not in any patch notes.
Hellektronic 6 Jul @ 10:29pm
I just looked pretty closely back to back at a security guard vest and didn't see much difference. I don't see much happen with scientist pants either, but I guess I'll do some more comparisons.
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 6 Jul @ 10:26pm
It cant be fixed because i dont think Crowbar Collective has the source textures for some of these anymore tbh.

Its obvious if i had a comparison shot but the scientist pants is the most obvious one where they were flat out broken before they got the normals fixed.
Hellektronic 6 Jul @ 10:21pm
Honestly I don't see any difference... this might've been fixed. If not, it's not very noticeable anyway.

Is this still needed after the Resonance Decade update?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 6 Feb @ 10:41am
Its compatible with anything that does not change the normalmaps.
AgentKenny 6 Feb @ 9:43am
Does this work with Black Mesa Classic?
Luc681 29 Dec, 2024 @ 11:36pm
Oh I see, thanks!
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 29 Dec, 2024 @ 10:21pm
The Zombie Guard? im pretty sure thats a UV issue, the white parts are the UV being assigned incorrectly, independent of textures
Luc681 29 Dec, 2024 @ 9:21pm
Can this addon fix the guard's pistol holster? Like, in vanilla, the guard's pistol holster is covered in... white decal stuff. Does this one fix it as well?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 29 Dec, 2024 @ 9:17pm
If they dont modify the normalmaps they should be compatible, this does not touch the actual main textures themselves.
Luc681 29 Dec, 2024 @ 9:01pm
Is it compatible with some texture fixes like "Zombie Guard texture fix (2020)"?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 2 Dec, 2024 @ 1:33pm
I dont even think the developers have the original texture sources anymore, so yes, or better yet stop asking a redundant question and just boot the game on the beta patch and compare xd
Terepin 2 Dec, 2024 @ 1:16pm
But is it still needed after the beta patch?
Anakin1773 2 Dec, 2024 @ 9:03am
OK then, thank you anyways.
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 2 Dec, 2024 @ 2:23am
I dont really see the point of making it into a VPK instead of keeping it as loose files.
Anakin1773 1 Dec, 2024 @ 6:33pm
Question for the author: Would you ever consider converting this mod into a VPK?
Lightbringer 20 Nov, 2024 @ 1:48am
So is this needed since beta patch?
expert.cleaners12 13 Nov, 2024 @ 2:41pm
Don't worry you dmed me on Discord
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 13 Nov, 2024 @ 12:00pm
I did try sending them to someone who asked before but Steam deleted my link, even if i would space it out (I use Mediafire to backup my work files)
expert.cleaners12 13 Nov, 2024 @ 11:52am
I'm interested in getting the uncompressed version
Terepin 28 Oct, 2024 @ 10:52pm
Is this still needed with the latest beta patch?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 27 Oct, 2024 @ 8:41am
Uhh, this does not much animations so yes
BARNEY CALHOUN CRISTMAS EDITION 27 Oct, 2024 @ 8:27am
well animation will work?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 26 Oct, 2024 @ 10:12am
It works for everything besides texturemods with their own normalmaps (which i dont think anyone has done) and normalmaps that are modified versions of the vanilla ones, which BMCE used to use for a time.
BARNEY CALHOUN CRISTMAS EDITION 26 Oct, 2024 @ 6:25am
this bmce bmcer works?
Omega 20 Oct, 2024 @ 11:09am
I see. Thanks
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 20 Oct, 2024 @ 7:24am
This was discovered after Necro Patch, so no this has been broke since the Black Mesa mod and has not been fixed as of now.
Omega 20 Oct, 2024 @ 5:13am
Hey, a quick question. Is this mod necessary after the latest "necro" patches? The devs still have'nt solved the normalmaps issue i mean.
Thanks.
failure face 7 Sep, 2024 @ 7:13pm
Finally encountered a similar incident and I can confirm it's not this addon. It seems that if I load way too many saves in a single sitting of game-up-and-running, a handful of textures will randomly partially break, and only fix upon quitting and reopening the game. A huge chunk of Xen just lost the alpha channel on the grassy rock overlay texture and turned enormous splotches of rock deep green all over multiple maps.
failure face 31 Aug, 2024 @ 7:08pm
Yeah, I'm baffled. Hasn't come up since and this is working fine though.
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 8:09pm
Honestly couldnt even make a educated guess as to why that would happen, not even like a conflict would do that, the only way that would happen is if either you have bad decal replacements (which i dont think is a issue with blood), or a improperly made model using the wrong decal.
failure face 28 Aug, 2024 @ 7:57pm
Aaaaand I reinstalled it and the problem didn't come back. Huh.
failure face 28 Aug, 2024 @ 7:53pm
I uninstalled this and the problem went away. Here, I'll take some screenshots.
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 7:48pm
...this does not touch VMTs at all, so that would be impossible
failure face 28 Aug, 2024 @ 7:43pm
This mod causes blood splatters on some or all of the affected textures to look like glowing green bullsquid spit splatters instead of red blood splatters. Please fix.
jumper 18 Aug, 2024 @ 11:43am
i want the source uncompressed targas
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:32pm
No
noobmaster68 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:31pm
@Gunslinger ☢ So this shouldn't replace the HECU Realism models?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 4 Aug, 2024 @ 9:47am
BMCER yes, HECU Realism no because this only affects vanilla normalmap textures.
noobmaster68 4 Aug, 2024 @ 4:38am
Is this compatible with bmcer and hecu realism?
Gunslinger ☢  [author] 25 Jul, 2024 @ 5:36pm
It was hard enough to take screenshots as they were, plus my native resolution is too low to make decent comparisons.
V I D A L 25 Jul, 2024 @ 5:24pm
You should show comparison with and without the mod.
Kuobano 16 Jul, 2024 @ 9:35am
Its probably so the maps don't make npcs look like glazed krispy kreme donuts.
noobmaster68 13 Jul, 2024 @ 7:34pm
this fixes normal maps for the characters
TheoRex 13 Jul, 2024 @ 1:10pm
I'm sorry what does this do?
BlackMesa600 9 Jul, 2024 @ 4:13pm
I believe this fixed a problem i was having on Steam Deck as i don't seem to have it on my rig. My flashlight and the lighting in certain areas wouldnt work unless i was using the SPAS~12. Everything seems nominal and more so improved thus far. Big thanks, hope this helps anyone else who also had my situation.
Cereg 8 Jul, 2024 @ 6:53am
I think providing before & after screenshots would be nice
undead 5 Jul, 2024 @ 3:28pm
nice
