@GlowingFox704: There is an option called "disable preloading" that does just that, and another one to reduce the generation distance :) You can try tweaking those and see if that helps. Still if your graphic card is below the minimal specs for the game as it was the case for 1966, it may still crash at some point :/
GlowingFox704 24 May @ 10:44am
Is there any way to make it less likely to crash? Maybe an option to only load a few obstacles at a time?
Geneosis  [author] 21 Jan @ 9:59am
@1966: I am not quite sure but 512MB = 0.5GB so that's probably the limiting factor here.
1966 20 Jan @ 2:10pm
@geneosis Hmm, i checked task manager and it said i had 4.2 gb of "GPU memory" but only 512 MB of "dedicated GPU memory". What does that mean?
1966 20 Jan @ 2:04pm
@geneosis Holy moly. 0.5 is pretty low lol
Geneosis  [author] 20 Jan @ 9:01am
@1966: It seems to be related to the actual VRAM of the graphic card itself: minimum requirement say 3GB VRAM and the one you have only has 0.5GB VRAM :/
1966 19 Jan @ 9:38pm
@geneosis, ah, i thought they supported AMD integrated ones, just not Intel ones. Interesting.
Geneosis  [author] 18 Jan @ 2:57am
@1966: Actually they told me it was the graphic card: the game do not support integrated graphic cards, and it appears you have one (or at least the game was using the integrated one if you have multiple graphic cards).
1966 17 Jan @ 6:44pm
@geneosis, Unfortunate, the issue was probably the low amount of RAM i had...
Geneosis  [author] 17 Jan @ 11:21am
@GeorgeJim1306: Well we reported to the devs a similar crash that happened for another player using this mod, sadly the devs answered that they were playing with hardware that was less than the minimal spec for the game, so they did not plan any fix for that case...
GeorgeJim1306 17 Jan @ 4:27am

Swing it, thrust it, slash it, stab it, smash it, slice it, be a true Ascended Sword Master !

@King Amogus: Well I have zero skill at making videos myself, so I like when people actually have fun with some of my mods in a video ^^ I also know that players are usually interested in watching how the mod looks like ingame so I often share some of those videos on the corresponding mod page ;)
King Amogus 26 Jul, 2024 @ 3:15pm
I like how u used a ctop vid as an ad

Build up your defences, the Synthetic Swarm is spreading!
1966 27 May, 2024 @ 11:17am
@Geneosis Thank you! I hope that information helps in some way or another :)
Geneosis  [author] 27 May, 2024 @ 9:23am
I was able to get them and forward them to the devs :) Hopefully they can somehow fix this so it will somehow produce an error but not crash ^^
1966 26 May, 2024 @ 2:16pm
@Geneosis Ok, here are the 5 folders (yes, there are 5 now) and dxdiag: file.io$aQEoVvzZAHTt | it expires in 2 days.
Geneosis  [author] 26 May, 2024 @ 10:04am
@1966: Better send all 4 I guess (there is probably one for each time your game did crash), and you can send the dxdiag the same way if it works for the crash files ^^ Then share whatever number the website give you here so I can get them back ;)
1966 26 May, 2024 @ 4:51am
@Geneosis Ok, looks like that file transfer website will work fine, i am sorry for asking so many questions, but i am still still a little confused with the crash file things. Like, do i send all 4 folders or are there specific files i need to look into that are in those folders? Thank you so much for answering all my questions, btw :D
Geneosis  [author] 26 May, 2024 @ 4:04am
oh I guess it detected the link and deleted it sry -_-
here is what I said (repalce _ by .):
@1966: Looks like www_file_io seems to get the job done for non-text file transfer (make sure you still replace the / by $ in the links you post so that steam won't block them...)
1966 26 May, 2024 @ 2:13am
@Geneosis please can you respond, your reply has been pending analysis for over a day

1966 25 May, 2024 @ 1:19am
Sorry, i meant 4* crash folders.
1966 25 May, 2024 @ 1:17am
@Geneosis Ah, ok. Pastebin should be easy, and i found 3 crash folders through appdata > local > teardown > crash, and i unfortunately don't have discord, so it might be a bit harder to share the crash files.
Geneosis  [author] 25 May, 2024 @ 1:08am
@1966: Dxdiag should be a text file so you can probably open it with notepad and copy its content to pastebin like last time :) The crash dump is a binary file containing information for the devs to know exactly where the game crashed, so if there is no file in any of the folders I listed (you can copy those path in Windows Explorer and it should lead you to the right places) then there no crash dump... If there is one, maybe try to add me on Discord or something? I think we can exchange files easily this way.
1966 24 May, 2024 @ 3:42pm
@Geneosis Sorry i answered a bit late as well.
1966 24 May, 2024 @ 3:42pm
@Geneosis I'm not really sure what you mean with the CrashDump thing, i got the DxDiag file though. And i don't know how to send it.
Geneosis  [author] 17 May, 2024 @ 4:01pm
Mod updated! The game shold no longer lag when you get a new best score on games with very large save files ;)
I also transformed any unphysical material into foliage for the parkour so that you will never fall through a completely upnhysical parkour peice any more :p

Geneosis  [author] 17 May, 2024 @ 2:53pm
@1966: Not sure if you will see this but if you can provide the following information I will forward them to the Teardown devs so they can investigate the crash you encountered more easily:

A local crash dump talking about Teardown, which may be in some of the following paths:
- %appdata%\..\Local\CrashDumps
- %appdata%\..\Local\Teardown\crash
- %userprofile%\documents\Teardown\crash

A DxDiag file. To get it:
- In Windows, select Start and enter dxdiag into the search box on the taskbar. Select dxdiag from the results.
- In the tool, select Save All Information to get a txt file with all the data.
Geneosis  [author] 17 May, 2024 @ 1:38pm
@JordanL17: Actually I managed to reproduce it properly and it only seems to happen when best score is updated you were right... This is not normal, will try to figure out why it lags like that.
Geneosis  [author] 14 May, 2024 @ 10:37am
@JordanL17: Hmmm I think I noticed that sometimes at the beginning of the climb... It might be due to the game loading back in items that are far away when they enter view distance... Could you try reducing the "generation distance" in the mod options and see if that helps?
JordanL17 12 May, 2024 @ 3:25pm
@Geneosis I have a similar problem, i only have a few non-mechanic changing mods enabled, but everytime I rise 1 meter legitly, it freezes my game for about 0.2 seconds. if I fly past the limit and go it doesn't lag. could have smh to do with the high score var.

ONLY UP
Geneosis  [author] 11 May, 2024 @ 5:30am
@1966: Good to know this option helps then X) I will mention it in the description.

@Ralphster: It should only lag a lot during loading phases... Does it lag when you are simply exploring the parkour map?
Ralphster 11 May, 2024 @ 1:47am
this mod lags my computer like hell i do have lots of mods tho is that why it is no laggy
1966 10 May, 2024 @ 11:32am
@Geneosis Nah, it doesn't crash in later gameplay, at least i don't think so. I tried it on Muratori Beach and Simple House and it was fine, but on larger maps like Lee Chemicals, it still crashes on the loading screen.
Geneosis  [author] 10 May, 2024 @ 11:09am
@1966: Nice, I was about to suggest using that depending on what I found in the logs, but if it worked that way, all good then ;) Does it crash later during gamplay when you use it? Or does it just work?
1966 10 May, 2024 @ 12:02am
@Geneosis it does load with "disable preloading" on now, which is good.
1966 10 May, 2024 @ 12:00am
@Geneosis yeah, i remember turning it on...
JJfrog 9 May, 2024 @ 1:06pm
starts going down...
Geneosis  [author] 9 May, 2024 @ 12:35pm
@1966: Are you sure you turned on the "Debug mode" option first? I don't see any of the logs I added, which is very weird...
1966 8 May, 2024 @ 9:46pm
@Geneosis I tried it again with debug mode on, here's the log.txt: pastebin.com$ipdu9kQC
1966 8 May, 2024 @ 10:11am
@Geneosis I will try when I am able to. thanks!

@1966: Could you please go to the mod options and enable "Debug mode", then try to load the Simple House map again and send me the log.txt one more time? I added a few logs to the mod that should let me know at what step it fails.
Geneosis  [author] 8 May, 2024 @ 2:16am
Mod updated! Added a few options that could help load faster on PCs with lower specs.
see full patch notes
Geneosis  [author] 8 May, 2024 @ 1:08am
@1966: Also what is weird is that Simple House takes only 2GB in memory while fully loaded on my computer, so it should have worked on yours too... I will try to add a few more debug logs to see if we can get more infos on where this fails for you.
