Updated to allow all the biological portrait assets to be selected as machine portraits

Probably could @magesbe, finished working for the previous commenter cause they paid me to fix a few mods for them. Though I'd rather finish working on this mod and helping Etilous out with their stuff

Hey MrGeneral, could I possibly pay you for 20-25min of your time to show me how to adjust a portrait mod to 12.3? They are all non-animated images so nothing complicated. I just don't understand what I need to do in order to convert for 12.3. Sorry I'm not trying to be annoying but I cannot find a single answer on reddit that clearly explain what I need to do (maybe I'm dumb?). If not I completely understand. But, I'm kind of grasping at straws at this point so I figured I'd at least ask. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

For those of you who say wait for the author to update, they won't. They departed from the mod some time ago and it's not being picked up by anyone so it's on me to fix it.

I personally just made it specifically for this set of mods cause I use them on a frequent basis and wanted to keep using them but generally I don't post my privately used/edits to mods unless I feel like it would be useful for a lot of people or for friends

I wouldn't mind making compatibility stuff for other mods if it's just the portraits that are broken

@MrGeneral Would you be willing to take requests to add other portrait mods to this as sort of a compatibility update for the mods whose creators are either unable or unwilling to update? Would completely understand if this isn't something you're interested in.

Since the main mods have been updated I'm going to convert this mod later into putting all the mods into a single category and a separate category to make the organic portraits all synthetic machines since stellaris has that as a thing now

Is there a chance you'd be able to create compatibility for other portrait mods as well? Some seem somewhat abandoned (or at least the creator hasn't given any indication they're working on fixing it)? Thank you for the compliments too! I've been modding (and coding for that matter) for a long time. I made this in about an hour after spending all of release day downloading the rest of Etilious's portrait mods along with the update itself (my internet sucks and the downloading high was 180kb a second)

I was just planning to take the mod down after they pushed their updates since it was originally just part of the code for my private version of the mod (just personally wanted kitsune machines tbh). I decided to upload it though to help out a bit in the meantime since the way I did it doesn't mess with his mod and preserves the species type (Kitsune is still a mammal) but to get around the overwriting issue you mentioned (thanks pdx :L) I had to put them all into a different category grouping. Also I feel bad whenever Etilous has to update these mods just from my personal experience with the hoi 4 modding scene (so many mods to update and fix...)

If Etilious wanted to save updating each mod they can just add this as a requirement to play in 3.12 and leave their stuff the way it is to preserve backwards compatibility with previous game versions. I don't mind leaving the mod up just as a category consolidation either if you think its a good idea.

I helped Etiluos a bit with his patches for 3.12, and they should be released soon enough (along some art updates for a few of his mods), although due to PDX(tm) they won't be in vanilla classes like they were in 3.10 and 3.11 as that would require destructive overwrites again. Instead functioning like they used to be for most of their lifetime as separate categories per species.

Whenever he does push those updates, I recommend changing this mod to hard just overwrite the updated mods portrait_categories so they will be in one catgeory, which I think is a cool feature of this mod.

game is literally unplayable without kitsunes, thank you
