I get your point that you should take inspiration from real locations and base the map upon them, I think that's a great way of building a map. When I built this map I made it with the gameplay as my first priority. I did think about how similiar villages or towns look in real life that I've seen images of or that I have visited, and tried to make it somewhat realistic although the gameplay always came first.
I picked the theme of a small italian village put in a modern setting with the warehouse intruding on the old village. The props I used and where I used them was only used if it made sense to me for the people living and working there to put them there. I may have rushed it a bit since I only had 5 days over 2 weeks to make it (school assignment), but I will iterate alot on the map and it's still very much a WIP :)
you just added a bunch of props to a skeleton. Try to create more consentrated areas based upon a realistic envoirment. Try taking inspiration from pictures of real life. Also should scale down some of the paths or reconstruct the map to be more realisticly built.
Atm it just looks like a large 1.6 map with props. Try adding more realistic enviorments, polish the structure of the map for better gameplay. Stick to a theme and try argue why things should be where they are instead of "why not"
