Great mod! Kinda wish only for swords to deactivate then you place them on the back(. Is it possible to make something similar to the Nexus Blade?

@BladeHeroX, you can install TwinGamerDude's lua for MPN and then download the mod linked in the description of this one. It allows for sabers to be turned on and off by pressing T.

pretty please make the lightsabers retractable, they just look way too weird on your back still lit up, the nexus blade turns off when on your back, can you try to do something simular?

@Splatboy0612 Fire damage would cause enemies to burst into flames upon dying, which isn't very star wars if you ask me.

Also, they literally do "slashing" damage. I can't make them cut even more than that.

@Oinko Sploinko, that was the original idea with the training sabers, that they would be starter warchest gear. At the time I couldn't get it to work, and by the time I had figured it out with the Smuggler origin, I had already begun to move onto other projects. I also kind of liked the idea of you having to "earn" your Lightsaber by defeating the toughs, getting a taste for what the everyman has to go through in a fight before you can experience what being a Jedi/Sith/What have you is like. The whole progression of the mod is tied to that idea, of overcoming challenges to prove yourself worthy of the next saber.

My prediction was correct! As long as you have BlockBullets & DeflectBullets, it should work as is. You can add them along with their prerequisites to the Character's Skills if necessary.

(I would recommend changing the blocking animation from Jeb's to something else though, so you actually block with the weapon instead of your palm. If you don't want to make your own altered AnimationSet, just use Hank's instead since it's almost identical and blocks using the weapon.)

Oh yeah btw, I noticed your Smuggler origin has a starting blaster in the warchest, was thinking you should do the same for this one with a selection of training sabers?

My prediction ahead of time is that ReflectBullets probably requires BlockBullets & DeflectBullets to function, but we will see

Also make sure never to add SpecialSkills to the Character itself, only use the Skills unless editing the Origin

Just checked the files, it looks like reflect bullets is properly applied through the Character's Skill , meaning theoretically it should work in-game

@oinko sploinko It seemed adding it to the character itself also broke the skill menu, but if you have knowledge you can try it yourself. The character's madcard folder is in the mod, so you can edit it freely.

Where did you attempt to put the Reflect Bullets skill? Did you make sure to put it in "Skills" in the Character, not the Origin, and not in "SpecialSkills?"

@CleanUsername Originally the skill was going to be reflect bullets (bullets deflected would have perfect accuracy) but adding it to the character broke the skill menu. Instead I opted for making acrobatics a little easier early on with the throw master, which allows throwables such as rocks or daggers to pass through enemies.

Love this mod, I have one issue with it though, the origin ability(? I don't know what to call it) says that if you have the lawnmower perk it works with any thrown weapon, the issue is that the lawnmower perk is only unlock-able by origins with acrobatics as its focus skill, now the force user origin doesn't have acrobatics as a focus skill (obviously) but I just think it's a bit silly imho. Anyway great mod that's literally my only complain :D

@Splatboy0612 I did realize this idea somewhat, I just didn't want to give each lightsaber its own unique character variant, as that would be way too much effort for a fairly simple mod. For example, Anakin's, Yoda's, Obi-Wan's, Qui-Gon's lightsabers all sound slightly different. However, red, green, and blue lightsabers all have their own unique ignition sound. All the green lightsabers use the one Luke's uses, if my memory is right.

@Reedington Then why even bother having lightsabers if they're the same as any other melee weapon in the game? Lightsabers are canonically some of the most powerful weapons in star wars and I wanted to reflect that in the game. They're meant to be overpowered. It's a lightsaber.

The light sabers are super broken in Arena mode, you have a melee weapon with no durability that you can throw to immediately blow the head open of any enemy that doesn't have a tac-bar. For balancing it better you should probably either give it some durability or maybe make the light saber not instantly return to you the moment you get a kill with it so you can't just spam it at a group of enemies and wipe out a horde of agents in like 3 seconds.
