Full Review at The Fighter Review: Issue 8

Aesthetics: ★★★★☆

I was not expecting a redesign of the hull, but I quite like the slightly different direction the redesign takes it. It retains

the old wedge shape but dissolves into a three-hulled shape which is quite striking.

Systems: ★★★★☆

The paring down of mods and adjustment to the systems is excellent - the two Industrial Thrusters flow well with the engine pods.

My only caveats are that the reactor will sometimes overload during a steep turn, and having no accelerating thrusters but the two

Industrials could leave the ship adrift if they get shot out.

Armament: ★★★★☆

The eight (functional!) cannons are a good loadout, and their tight grouping - which synergizes well with the Cutlass's

maneuverability - give it great potential as a heavy dogfighter.

Still... you don't need THAT many thrusters
Wuufles: even with a dozen gyros, turning will still be sleepy with insufficient amounts of thrusters along the six degrees of freedom.

Wuufles: hello again. As I state in the article I'm not anti-mod, I just think that 1) when mods are used they have to be documented, especially for blueprints, and 2) that you should only use mods that are really necessary. For some designs, things like armor thrusters are indeed necessary. Others, like arc reactors, not so much - in a small ship you never typically *see* the reactor nor is there occasion to use the amount of power said reactor would put out.

Aesthetics: ★★★☆☆

The Cutlass is a wedge design with some good points and some bad. Things I liked included the use of shaped armor on the outsides of the wing; it gives the shape texture and volume...

Systems: ★★★☆☆

The systems are extremely problematic to judge. On a strictly *technical* level, it really could be a five-star ship - it hits all my important salients (conveyance, connectors, thruster balance, good gyro ratio, landing gear, drone capability)...

Armament: ★★☆☆☆

This is another case where modding has sabotaged the ship, though this is more out of highly unfortunate timing than anything. The Paladin's Hammer guns used by the ship are, as of 1.054, not working...

Overall: 2.6 out of 5 ★.

Wuuffles Well if you want tips on how to build i would say just start with a core idea, and work with it. Like if you have an idea for a cool looking back part of a ship build it. Then the forward part will sort itself out. If you want me to build ships for you that will take time since i am a slow builder lol.

I guess that gave me the ability to troll creative servers with copypaste, but otherwise didn't help at all...?
And another thing, unless you will give me some kind of technique to put in every ship i make, I am going to be waiting here for you to give me some kind of usable ship with no mods
(carriers not included, small ships or survival large ships please)

And before you say 'why do you keep playing them' it's because I have nothing else to do and these games are the most free-will and free-roam able games on the market, of which I apsolutely love, and things like GTA and such are not available on the computer, and I hate consoles, so I'm stuck with these building sandbox games of which I suck at but at the same time love dearly.

I have played games with a big focus on building (such as minecraft and other voxel games) for nearly two years. I have not gotten better at ALL ever since I first started playing them. And believe me, I have tried very hard to get better.

It is unavoidable and really pisses me off that there is no way for me to host servers myself, and even more so that every single person plays by themself and thus so uses mods in every single thing they publish.

You say that like you think I want to get the mods.
I want ships that don't use mods in the first place because I am sick and tired of people making me have to download and turn on every single mod on the fucking workshop just to have good-looking (or at least not made by a noob) ships for blueprints.

And I can't make them myself because of the reason why I search for blueprints in the first place: I suck at building.

Wuuffles Sorry the mods are kind of part of the fighter lol. Without them it would not look as good. Here is all the mods i remember. Arc reactor. Orange thruster. Small landing gear. Armor thruster. Fighter cockpit. And a thruster mod by emeber shard.
