Hey @Light Warrior, thank you so much for playing and giving insightful feedback! I really like your perspective on the aesthetic. You pinpoint the exact problems. It may be a cool-looking custom map, but it needs way more careful delivery, and polishing.

This map was made 5 years ago, and I've since moved on to learn more "real-world" game development. It makes me happy that my old maps are still played and thoughtfully commented on by players like you :) <

Finally, the test as a whole, while solid and admirably done, is far too short. Flesh out this story more! Thanks for your creation.

It has spooky and creepy going for it. So those are good things. And the execution of the solution seems fairly solid to me. In terms of that, this test is a nice creation. I have qualms with the aesthetics, however. Now, the music is great. But why the mannequin staring at the player? It's eyelash-nudgingly creepy for like 2 seconds, then it just gets in the way. I like how certain elements of the test reveal themselves throughout, but not the WAY in which they reveal themselves. Things explode and go BOOM, and somehow panels and such wind up EXACTLY where they're supposed to? Not believable for a science lab. Finally, the ending was GREAT! Creepy, depressing, foreboding, and mocking all at the same time! But the useless companion cube just appearing like that was cheesy. I personally feel that the companion cube should be treated as a test element and used with good reason, instead of as a "friend."

I hope you have more in-store for the future. Because this is interesting.

@Petutski Thank you so much! One day I will make a game that will still be fun after an eternity!
Petutski 5 Nov, 2017 @ 4:38pm
Still fun after three years! I am amazed at how I totally forget maps I played a while ago!

Portal 2 Authoring Tools. In brief word, the hammer. It's right in your steam library of tools.

How do you build maps like this? Don't tell me you figured it out in the regular editor...

Thank you so much for the efforts of recording a walkthru! That helps a lot ^^

@Shinval Really happy you tried my work. For a sequel, I just thought of a place where the observation worker himself is observed by piles of observation room... Well that's just a flash and may not be put into work recently. But currently I'm working on a level, at the final stage where I gonna put some voicelines (I said I'm at the final stage months ago... Damn laziness...)
Shinval 29 Nov, 2014 @ 4:39am
Wow! What a creative map! I loved it! Thanks so much for that. I like how you can see the exit sign but no door. It makes you curious as yo how that is going to work and when you see it, its impressive. Will there be a sequel?
TUMM|gottesfuss 27 Nov, 2014 @ 3:50pm
Yeah it was the whole setup of the test, nothing wrong with the map :)
not-paradiser  [author] 27 Nov, 2014 @ 8:06am
Glad you like it! Hope that it's the logics that got you confused, not something obscure in the level.
TUMM|gottesfuss 26 Nov, 2014 @ 3:18pm
Funny chamber, had me confused for a second there :)
not-paradiser  [author] 10 Nov, 2014 @ 9:17pm
Really happy you guys love it, feeling a sense of achievement haha!
Petutski 10 Nov, 2014 @ 4:23pm
Nicely done. Cube remote control. I love it! And the ambiance was just right!

Really appreciate the walkthru! I can learn a lot from them ^^

Yeah seems I succeed to build an atmospheric scene ^^
wesgtr 26 Oct, 2014 @ 1:52pm
The creepy music and whole solitude that transpires the chamber are some of the things I like from it. I feel expectant every time and feel like I have to finish it quickly before something terrible happens. If that's what you went after when you were creating this, at least with me you aced it.

Oh you are right. There are stories to tell. I'll pay more attention to that ^^
Dream Custody 23 Oct, 2014 @ 9:11am
Where he eat? Where he pee? Where any door to this room?
If you find/create solutions of this design problems, all would to be fine.
not-paradiser  [author] 23 Oct, 2014 @ 9:02am
Ah actually I think of the opposite... I'm not good at building logical test so most of my maps require not too hard thinking. But for the design of this map, at least I got the concept, that the player as a worker in the observation room, waking up some day and do the test in his workplace. But anyway I'm happy for the feedbacks !
Dream Custody 23 Oct, 2014 @ 4:46am
Good Puzzle! :p2aperture:
But Design - So-So
not-paradiser  [author] 22 Oct, 2014 @ 9:32pm
@Sir Sppokshire of Spookville Thanks for the feedback! For the funnel, I've tried upon one situation that I opened up the final portal of the funnel and got stuck by the desk at outside of the chamber. But I can still get out easily by moving up a little. Don't know if it's the situation you are talking about. And if you stepped into the test area, you can actually peep the portal-able surface back at the observation room. Also I'll check you map !
not-paradiser  [author] 22 Oct, 2014 @ 9:30pm
@Tomexi Thanks. But Your map may be hidden, I can't access it. @fmchkss you mean the funnel? I've tried upon one situation that I opened up the final portal of the funnel and got stuck by the desk at outside of the chamber. But I can still get out easily by moving up a little. Don't know if it's the situation you are talking about.
racknae 22 Oct, 2014 @ 9:00pm
Interesting puzzle. I like how the test needed to be solved remotely. That being said, there definitely were a few issues, one of them being that it's easy to get trapped by the cabinets using the funnel, or by going into the testing area after the test is finished and placing both of your portals over there.

Care to try one of mine?

Why the advertising "heres my chamber" let people come and visit it for crying out loud, we dont as much. Oh and good map

Thanks guy. @Nathanor Valve knows all the truth ^^ @Miami Mike Interesting little story, amused. Well starting a fire on a bush does cause some unreal effects. Let's say... These are Aperture Bushes ^^
