Living UBoat was the conflict. Don't know why as it doesn't say anything about touching the tech tree, but I've just gone through re-enabling all my mods one by one and that was the culprit.

Just so anyone else running across this problem sees this in the future.

@ Nepokadneza - yes, I tried first in the load order, as well as in the middle. I have the same result no matter when in the load order I put it. It works, but only for torpedoes.

I agree it sounds like the most likely thing would be a mod conflict. I suppose the only thing to do now would be to narrow down which one. When I find out I'll comment here so that it can be known

Just tested it and I can confirm it is still working. Not sure what you did here but on my device there's no issue with mod files from steam running on Patch 8.

@Crowdawg sounds like it gets overwritten by something else, have you tried putting it first in load order?
@TheFieldMarshal, in your case the mod is presumably not loaded at all.
Both of you, what happens when you activate this mod only? Start a new game, start date is irrelevant. When its still not working then, check your gamefiles or reinstall the game.

Lucky you, none of mine are free of research time, the required officer, nor is everything available from the beginning.

Even loading last in the load order, it only works for torpedoes, none of the other techs. All others retain the officer and time requirements. I don't have any other mods that would affect the HQ or tech system, at least as far as their descriptions indicate.

As soon as you use the command console, you disable achievements for that entire career, and must start a new game to allow earning achievements again. Just installing the mod but never using the console will not disable your archievements.

That's not a problem.
I'm not sure at the moment if I want to include it, as the mods intention is to unlock all items for the ship and production of torpedoes etc. from the start. If recon and pans were included, the whole HQ part of the game would be useless.
Give me a few days, maybe I'll release another version with everything.

thanks for fixing that. working now. However, I'm able to buy instant research everything except reconnaissance and building uboat pen. Those all still require an officer plus reputation points to complete over the course of days. Any way to make those instantly completed?

Hi there,
Im currently traveling and have no access to my pc. Will be back on the 18th, update will happen short after that.
But the mod should still work, it has Just not included the current Version in the ini and therefore throws the outdated error. But in general updates are not affecting the mod

Enjoying this great mod, playing with this early war years to see what and how each Tech Upgrade really works. Is there any way to add additional Tech mods? One in particular that is still missing in the base 2024 game is Alberich coating used on a few active U-Boats successfully in the late war period. Most famous is U-480 being successful in aggressive hunting actions only being sunk by a mine field recently layed in a previously favorite hunting area. (U-Boats did not have mine detecting technology!) It would be great to add this tech mod and a couple others; is this possible?

brauchst Du nicht mehr. Deine Mod ist einwandfrei.
Habs mir nach dem testen ja schon gedacht.
Schade das man nicht mal T1,T2 auf dem VIIB verbauen kann. Es geht wohl keiner und war auch nie gewollt.

- Fix: Improved description of improved conning towers research to specify that these conning towers are meant specifically for Type VIIC and Type VIIC/41. Previously, this description mentioned Type VII generally, but that wasn't true for Type VIIB.

@finn Sure, give me a few hours. In general it should work with newer patches even when its flagged as not up to date. They rarely change anything related to this mod.

Habe auch das Problem, das sich das Deck nicht umbauen lässt.
Habe jetzt etwas herrum probiert.
Deine Mod ist ganz unten in der Liste. UND sie funktioniert.

Habe jetzt nicht jeden Spielstart getestet, konnte es aber etwas eingrenzen.
Wenn man U-96 "1941" startet geht es.
Wenn man U-47, U-48 "1939" startet geht es nicht.

Bei U-4x: Wenn man noch nichts erforscht hat, kann man z.B. nicht Funkraum oder Schnorchel auswählen und auch den Turm nicht. Hat man Funk, Schnorchel, Turm erforscht, geht Turm nach wie vor nicht.

Kann das an irgend einem Zeitwert liegen?
Oder gehen nicht mal die ersten Türme mit dem Typ7

Just bought the dlc and tested it. It works for me for all types with or without activated mod. Also for every type in a saved game which was created with activated mod and before buying the dlc as well as in a new created game with mod and dlc. There were no other mods active during the test.

I assume its probably caused by something else. Maybe some reskins you did or an other mod that is doing something with the boats or their upgrade system.
Maybe try to deactivate others mods one by one to eventually find the responsible one. And check if its working in Vanilla, if not it could also be your game that needs a reinstall.

Its an upgrade that comes with the suporter DLC, that gives you a new upgrade area. the button is at the exit hatch at the kitchen. You can then add a wooden deck.

@Sir Lance alot, not sure what exactly you mean. I can't find a mod with that name. Or is it an upgrade for your boat? Some options are not available for every type such as turrets.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. It appears normally when I switch back to stable.

mods I subbed to prior to switching to unstable appear, as well as new mods (granted I switch back to stable, then switch to unstable).

mod works now! Thank you for the mod :)
