i miss all this now cleaning never feels the same :( can't wait for the new mod
LioTheManlyBadAssHero 19 Jul @ 2:50pm
When Trash update?
TurtleShroom 15 Jul @ 6:36pm
Specifically, it generates an error covering a "Toil" and the Cleaning Job itself, so Ludeon must have altered something concerning that directly, because it happened every time that a Pawn tried to clean.
ferny  [author] 15 Jul @ 4:04pm
@TurtleShroom Haha okay yup yup
TurtleShroom 15 Jul @ 2:58pm
For those wondering, I just checked. It absolutely does not work in V1.6 .
ferny  [author] 15 Jul @ 2:43pm
@TurtleShroom Probably. I'm working on a sequel mod for it tho
TurtleShroom 15 Jul @ 2:35pm
Does this Mod still work in V 1.6 ?
Deebs 13 Jul @ 9:45pm
No rush, but I look forward to a 1.6 version of trash!

Out of curiosity, would you be willing to make it compatible with "Rats!" and "Some Like It Rotten" to make some animals attracted to/eat garbage? I'm thinking about raccoons and bears becoming attracted to sites of poor garbage management.

Either way, thank you for your work, I love your mods!
Polyethyleneglykol 8 Jul @ 8:52am
It is weird, it seems to count it? I changed from the default 50 after noticing that for over 8 hours irl no trash was generated. I think I changed the slider to 1, it spawned 7 or 8 trash in the pawns inventory.
Then I slid it back to 50, after a while slid it back to 20, only then again like 1 or 2 trash pieces appeared in the inventory.
ferny  [author] 8 Jul @ 8:40am
@Polyethyleneglykol Never had this be the case
Polyethyleneglykol 8 Jul @ 8:39am
Looks like the mod only adds the Trash once I change the mod options setting?
It never does it by itself. But once I change the slider, click ok. Then trash appears.
ferny  [author] 14 Jun @ 10:26pm
@t0m4s1t0 The "While you're up" mod dev added Pick up and Haul to his mod then removed it. I'll add the requirement again, good point
t0m4s1t0 14 Jun @ 7:00pm
why isnt puah a requirement if its needed as per the description?
DuckGoosebear PrairieDogLover 10 Jun @ 12:01am
does this apply to animals that eat filth?
LioTheManlyBadAssHero 7 Jun @ 9:04am
@ferny sorry 4 for my blind ass not seeing the requirements
LioTheManlyBadAssHero 7 Jun @ 9:03am
Nevermind my dumbass is blind :pkskull: , i didnt see the requirement for Recycling Expanded, sorry
ferny  [author] 6 Jun @ 11:47pm
@LioTheManlyBadAssHero Is this a joke
LioTheManlyBadAssHero 6 Jun @ 4:54am
Does this mod work with Recycling Expanded?
Arnovitz 6 May @ 8:57am
Yep I've got all the dependencies. I also tried messing with the slider, even setting it down to 1 filth for trash, but nothing appears in their inventories. What a shame because I LOVE TRASH!
ferny  [author] 5 May @ 11:20pm
@Arnovitz Are you ensuring you have the dependency, pick up and haul? They will store trash in their inventroies until you give them a place to put it
Arnovitz 5 May @ 9:24pm
I wanted to love this mod, but it doesn't seem to work. Filth Creates Trash works by itself, so I don't know where the incompatibility is at. If you run both mods at the same time, no trash appears to be generated either.
ferny  [author] 4 Apr @ 11:09pm
@Deebs Haha thank you, glad someone else feels that way
Deebs 4 Apr @ 3:48pm
I wanted to say thank you for making this mod, it's weirdly one of my favorites!
ferny  [author] 21 Feb @ 2:54pm
@Type Writer No, I specifically avoided that as I really don't agree with its design. I really just want it to generate basic trash, any other trash types are just gonna be generated by VE recycling's systems.
Type Writer 21 Feb @ 1:56pm
As this mod is designed to be a replacement for Filth Creates Trash, does this mod also have the feature where different types of filth being cleaned creates different trash bags? For example, biological filth like blood creates biopacks, while mining detritus like rubble rarely creates alloypacks. That added some interesting resource problems, and my own trash-related mod added a crafting recipe for turning biopacks into Fertile Fields fertilizer specifically because of that feature. (I haven't yet gotten around to considering alloypacks, because they're still rare enough that they don't create serious problems.)
♥ Aevery Windchild ♥ 8 Feb @ 10:15pm
@Nice Save That's an issue with the clean area mod in general, rather than just this mod.
cowsarenottoys 3 Feb @ 5:44am
I think this has a conflict with the clean area mod. When there's stuff to clean in the cleaning area but outside the home area, (and possibly also when the pawns are full of trash), they don't go and clean it. The job gets assigned and then dismissed repeatedly and they just stand there twitching for a while. Then if I draft them and make them stand right on the filth, they immediately do the thing where they spawn a trash bag and go store it, but they still can't come back and clean it until I put the area into my home zone.
Demonic 1 Dec, 2024 @ 9:22pm
On another note, I really like the burn trash idea but I wish he took your suggestion to have them produce gas when burned, it feels cheaty without that. So much so that I opted instead for the furnace mod just because I hate feeling like I'm cheating. Any chance you might add in the burnable trash bill to this mod with the toxic gas and maybe add a toggle for people who don't want it?
Demonic 1 Dec, 2024 @ 9:18pm
@ferny I think maybe this is why a couple people seem to think it isn't working? At least for me, cleansweepers only = 0 trash over a year. I tried decreasing the filth cleanup to produce trash but still nothing. I kept the mod anyway on my next playthrough without mechs and suddenly became overwhelmed with trash in my tribal colony. Maybe a mod conflict somewhere, I'm not sure. I do have a lot of mech-related mods.
ferny  [author] 26 Nov, 2024 @ 8:02pm
@Demonic Pretty sure they do. They just store it in their inventory or drop it I think?
Demonic 26 Nov, 2024 @ 7:56pm
Mech cleaners do not generate trash, is this intended or a bug?
ferny  [author] 30 Jul, 2024 @ 3:47pm
@Meyar Should be good with everything. Join the discord and send me your modlist
Meyar 30 Jul, 2024 @ 3:44pm
Is this mod known to conflict with any? My colony has been going for a hot minute and only produced two bags of trash. I have a ridiculous amount of mods so I'm sure SOMETHING is conflicting somewhere.
ferny  [author] 16 Jul, 2024 @ 9:38am
@Derproid Get my mod "Adaptive trash storage" which turns those into storages because this mod is basically built around the idea that those trash cleaner bins won't exist. I think the concept of them is immersion breaking. Use it at your own risk, not sure how any of that would interact
Derproid 16 Jul, 2024 @ 9:30am
This won't cause trash bins to produce trash bags right? So then would this be compatible with Filth creates Trash as long as the pawn sweeping floors option is disabled in that mod? Cause otherwise I could see this mod not doing anything once you have a bunch of trash bins set up.
ÁS - EN/PT 18 Jun, 2024 @ 6:39pm
Any chance for a patch for bad hygiene? Would be interesting to see trash being used in the burn pit
ferny  [author] 16 Jun, 2024 @ 10:12am
@cubicPsycho Yup
cubicPsycho 16 Jun, 2024 @ 12:21am
Does this work with cleansweepers or other pawns that may be able to clean?
StupidBaby 13 Jun, 2024 @ 2:14am
a consideration: different types of filth

scum, stain, whatever. different ways they're applied, times to clean etc but end result is regular garbage. might be too much, though?

i agree with #6 below btw
ferny  [author] 12 Jun, 2024 @ 1:54pm
v3 - upped the default setting, filth requirement is now 50 by default
#6 10 Jun, 2024 @ 9:04pm
I feel like this could be one of those mods like Dubs Bad Hygiene or Variety Matters where it adds something that is so overlooked that nobody realized they wanted it until it existed. Thanks Ferny :)
ferny  [author] 10 Jun, 2024 @ 3:44pm
@deathmagicuser The whole thing is based off Vanilla Expanded Recycling i'm not sure what you mean
deathmagicuser 10 Jun, 2024 @ 3:37pm
does this have any compatibility with vanilla expanded recycling
McLets 10 Jun, 2024 @ 12:02pm
@Bjark Ah, yes... avoiding trash and power-gaming by using Resurrector Mech Serum to kill a pawn and revive them to rend trash from the universe...
McLets 10 Jun, 2024 @ 11:56am
I take it there isn't a less morally bankrupt way of dealing with trash...
Bjark 10 Jun, 2024 @ 10:52am
@Robosium Power game if you want, its a mod for a single player game.
Robosium 9 Jun, 2024 @ 12:19pm
so with this mod you could theoretically avoid trash from cleaning by just killing the colonists when they are almost full of trash?

maybe should make it so that colonists drop the trash as on ground filth when they die
StupidBaby 9 Jun, 2024 @ 2:35am
my guy, you're a shooting star
ferny  [author] 8 Jun, 2024 @ 12:24pm
v2 - added general pawn support, so mechanoids, workdrones, animals, etc. also fixed potential(?) issues with load order, mod is complete to me now
Roque the Rogue 8 Jun, 2024 @ 9:39am
What a Trashy mod
