Rearranged and improved new model, with 1 large reactor instead of 12 small, and with arc furnaces and other assorted improvements: DSF3 Duchessa .
The upper hull is the same, but thruster layout is more balanced (gotta look cool) and docking lights now turn off to indicate an occupied connector.

nice ship... and you only did it with vanilla blocks...
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 23 Oct, 2014 @ 10:48pm
It's quite easy to add turrets to these ships, as the containers provide four easy mounting points on the underside, and supply tubes run the length of the upper hull, so you can grind off an armour block and add a conveyor for a turret almost anywhere on the upper surface.

As far as making a dedicated combat ship, I only play singleplayer so I don't have any experience of combat other than shooting cargo ships, so I don't feel like I know enough about flying a warship to make an effective one.

Hey! love your ship designs, and i love seeing what ya come up with. and i love using your Mining ship from one of your other sets. I was wondering, have you considered making a Combat oriented Frigate based off these designs?

lights work! XD and i am lloking forward to the update. thanks to the new update its rocket launcher heaven!
aaronlukemarshall 23 Oct, 2014 @ 4:01am
Fair one to high ground, he has a point but it might ruin the colouring, i will add your update when you post it,

Forget the large reactor, go solar. You only need the batteries when moving for that extra bit of power. Go solar and reduce your self to only a few reactors for emergencie. Would reduce the cost of build one in survival, plus it's more efficient. I mean I've noticed as of late that I only use. Lot of post when moving around, going from one place to another. So I mainly use solar and batteries now days for ships that don't move a hell of a lot.

Sure, go for it!
However, I am going to release an updated version after tomorrow's update, in the hope that the lighting bugs will be fixed. The upper hull will be the same, but the hangar position will be changed and it will have one large reactor instead of 12 small.

With your permission can i add your design to my soon to be published design, you will get full credits for your design.

But but... small reactors are just soo... small... =[
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 17 Oct, 2014 @ 2:30am
It has 12 small reactors.
Nox 16 Oct, 2014 @ 10:47pm
So this has no reactors? Than in survival how does one recharge the ship?
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 16 Oct, 2014 @ 7:03am
Good point about the reactors. This is a scaled-up version of my previous worker carrier, which used small reactors. I'm making a rearranged version with a large reactor now, it's not quite as sleek though :(

I like the look of it, even if i think the bridge is a bit small but thats just my personal preference.
And i don't like the energie source but yeah, same as above.

Pretty nice design otherwise :)
