@pietro.aldegani fixed desc, thanks
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_W%C3%BCrzburg
But i guess we should have at least also Isfahan/Persia, the school of Medical Sciences, probably the most famous (and advanced) one already in the middleage, founded 1024/1025.
@DrFunnyFun I left it for further investigation if it existed later on in the game's timeframe and... It's now added aswell ^^ Thanks for reminding me :)
@AQUILA Thank you ^^
@Mekh_Tea Yea, I always felt like it's a missing feature of EU4's that's why I made this mod :P
here is my little contribution: german localisation file, plus missing province modifier name text for both english and german.
Staying in the Low Countries you forgot the universities of Franeker (Friesland; 100), founded in 1585 and Harderwijk (Gelre; 99), founded in 1648. Both were closed in 1811 after the annexation of the Netherlands by France.
@HP LaserJet M110 Colour thank you, it will be present in the nearest update
@[Reyne] Rabbit thank you for kind words and nice suggestions, maybe an event where you choose a dean will impact the functioning of a university
If I'm not mistaken, this should be the case with the majority of old universities (but maybe not all, I don't know).
Maybe it's an idea to link universities to an event, which either grants a choice of additional (local/global) conversion strength (because they did contribute to their respective faiths), or weaken it (because some also contributed to their respective heresies), or something alike for institution spread (due to the faith embracing certain institutions (renaissance arts)) or debuff (due to the faith rejecting certain institutions (bookpress!))?
This is post is ment as food for thought, because this is a nice flavor mod already :)
Check Berlin, Humboldt-Uni, 1809.
Btw., the vanilla buildings file content is a compatibility issue. I propose the following:
a) Make the hint that mods with 00_buildings.txt file must be put below your mod
or
b) resist using that file in your mod ;)
or try
c) extracting the uni code-block and make that a separate buildings file like fe. "uni_building.txt", so only that block can overwrite. That method works at least in other pdx games.
Thanks a lot for this impressive work. What was your source or sources?
