Haven't used that mod yet.
Although from skimming through the mod page it looks easier to make a new item in its own mod.

Wish this had compatibility with WVC - Xenotypes and Genes , gaining the stone mechlink gene when you apply the anima link. Pretty cool mod, though.

I'm not sure if you'd be interested in adding this but it'd be cool if this mechlink counted for the aspiration "Become Mechanitor" for "Vanilla Aspirations Expanded"

So, right now the only thing we need "medievalized" are the mech buildings for a full on medieval tech limited mechanitor playthrough?(and with slime mechanoids retex we can even change mechanitor to enslaved slimes for RP purposes)

Cant believe i didnt find this mod earlier!!

Thanks a lot!

Fair enough.

Nevermind just found your sparkling jade mod 👍

Does this come with a tribal way to charge them or does anyone know a good mod that does that?
NöSTer 26 Jul, 2024 @ 9:21am
Thank you for enabiling me to edit the mod! :steamthis:

@Ambrose
Well, per ingame description the anima tree has a psychic presence and mechanoids have a psychic presence as they are not mere robots (according to mechlinks).
Also the mechanitor needs to be not psychicly dull, thats enough for me to connect the 3 of them.
The anima tree also gives a mood downside for chopping it while beeing a consistent but not overusable way of getting mechlinks, so it fit perfectly for me.
Although if you have a better/other ideas, I'm all ears :)
(I'm only speaking of tribal ways here, but craftable industial and rare archotech mechlinks will come too)

@NöSTer
You can already use this mod without Royalty, although there is no way to obtain the mechlink without the Royalty DLC (besides spawning it with DEV-mode).
I don't really feel like making your idea a proper thing with its own fitting textures, but if you still want it, you can easily change it yourself:
Just go to the modfolder under "1.5/Patches/RoyaltyPatches.xml" and change "Plant_TreeAnima" into "Plant_TreeGauranlen" (4 times).
You might also want to change <onlyFullyGrown>true</onlyFullyGrown> into <onlyFullyGrown>false</onlyFullyGrown> as gauralen trees don't show their growth process.

I dont have Royalty, could you please make it so that the mechlink drops from the orange ideology tree and does not require Royality to Install?:tribble:
Firestorm 11 Jul, 2024 @ 4:22am
tribal mechanoids would be SO cool!
Ambrose 9 Jul, 2024 @ 2:50am
Personally I like the idea but not the execution, it is kind of odd to link it to anima when psychics are not really connected to the mech tech area, maybe consider another angle though I do suppose that would be alot of work and effort and the mechlink looks nice, I like the minor benefits compared to a normal mech link though, just my thoughts

Following up on your below comment - If I may say, creating anima wood golems powered by stone gears/cogs/components would be a nice low-tech tribal mech solution, if you ever do take up the idea of tribal mechs. Fits a nice middle ground of having a semi-concrete explanation for why they work while being suitably low-tech. I'd say just normal wood and stone gears normally, but tying it to anima trees keeps it a little more rare, and sacred feeling which befits a tribe.

@Krazyfan1
thats totaly possible. Other modders already made custom gestation buildings & recharger so it shouldn't be a problem.

@sharkcrisp049
Never say never, but I have to disappoint you here, I don't have a tribal mechanoid mod in the works.
If I ever take up this idea, it would probably be more of a scientific approach than a fictional one.
Repairing/altering dead mechanoids with scrap metal into different versions of their former state.

Not a 100% what you guys want, but soon [i.imgur.com].
Pink Lion Gaming 6 Jul, 2024 @ 5:44am
Does anyone know if there is a mod to steal and hack mechanoids?
Noisy Koi 4 Jul, 2024 @ 10:18am
imo would be cool if it had a way to hack mechanoids.
requiring the mechanoid to be alive causing the main method of mech recruitment being to keep them busy with melee pawns while the anima mechanitor hacks them
Axon 3 Jul, 2024 @ 6:27am
Oh god, tribal/anima mechanoids or mechanoids equivalent would be amazing. I know this mod is not it but i hope it evolves into that somehow
Redknight910 3 Jul, 2024 @ 1:00am
This is good, but I agree with the other comments, would love to see tribal mechs, maybe based off of the gauranlen trees and dryads?
sharkcrisp049 2 Jul, 2024 @ 7:54pm
will there be further plans on making tribal mechanoids?:steamhappy:
Krazyfan1 2 Jul, 2024 @ 4:14pm
wonder if making Anima counterparts to the mechanoids that work better with this implant would be possible?
instead of a mech gestator, you use an Anima cradle and grow the Anima-chanoid instead?
