hey, is their a way to have the arrival date in a normal date format like DD/MM ?
JazzMano 26 Apr @ 11:19am
Excelent mod, still working well, don't forget to change in the modconfig.txt the date format if you don't like US one:
Exemple: dd/M instead of M/dd

@Stuka I noticed this at first after starting a new game. I attempted to reload a save and see if it worked there, but it no longer worked there either. It may have first happened around the time of one of the small patches.
StuKa  [author] 22 Apr @ 2:59pm
johnson_carl was this on an existing save, or a new game?
johnson_carl 20 Mar @ 4:51pm
Is anyone else having issues getting the courseline to appear when plotting a route? The ruler tool works as intended but the courseline has disappeared but used to work.
LAntorcha 24 Feb @ 12:45pm
@Stuka i got all your plotting mods installed. They work like charm!

On this topic, i have done some rearching on google for an easy explanation on how to draw a parallel line to a course with our current plot tools. But usually i start making endless circles and lines and get lost in the middle.

Correct me if i'm wrong: I could take an enemy course from 2 separate hydrophone readings, draw the line, pick compass, and make 2 circles betwen 2 closer points with the same distance.

Then where they intersect, draw a parallel course betwen those 2 new points. Isn't it?

Could this kind of tool be done like a moded tool? just asking.

Maybe adding some code to the Line tool (like draw a line and if you press CTRL+something it draws a parallel or a perpendicular new line X distance apart).

@Unknown_Error: Thanks for reaching out. I believe that manifest error is from Bearings for Map Tools, where somehow I managed to add a second manifest file in an otherwise unused "Bundles" folder. This confuses Uboat, but shouldn't actually be causing any issues aside from that error message showing up.

@Bucketsmith: That's definitely doable, I'm on a bit of a break from working on modding but when time allows, I'll add this in with the next update. Also on the list is an optional ETA on the first leg of a multi-leg route.
Bucketsmith 28 Sep, 2024 @ 6:31am
Could we get an option to display ETA as ETUA instead? Show remaining time in days hours:minutes.
Unknown_Error 27 Sep, 2024 @ 1:41pm
Just incase this helps fix the bug noted in the "Known Issues" section:

Found this (after a fresh start - new mods, deleted cache/etc. Basically, like new) at the *very* top of the output_log file - before "Initialized Injection Framework...."

"Encountered an error during loading of the following asset bundle F:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\494840\3270955106\Bundles\Manifest.json. The exception will be logged below.
System.IO.InvalidDataException: Asset bundle at path "F:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\494840\3270955106\Bundles\Manifest.json" is corrupted.

The workaround works for me it seems, but just incase this has never been spotted + reported before, I thought it best to share.
Helshad 31 Aug, 2024 @ 3:57am
Seem better with 2.5. Thank you for the update!
StuKa  [author] 30 Aug, 2024 @ 5:22pm
Hi all,

v2.5 just uploaded with a couple of bug fixes.
Helshad 30 Aug, 2024 @ 10:05am
It seems as you mentioned in the chat that it happens when I plot the course while being docked.
StuKa  [author] 30 Aug, 2024 @ 9:59am
Any issue will be resolved with a game restart, but if you recreate the same conditions then the bug will surface again.

But without output logs of people experiencing the issue, I can't track it down.
Helshad 30 Aug, 2024 @ 9:56am
Yea, it is 2.4. However, the issue comes back after a second restart. So it seems to be persistent.
StuKa  [author] 30 Aug, 2024 @ 9:08am
Just saw your edit, glad it seems to be working. If it does happen again please post the log.

Right now it's unclear if a bug related to setting courses while docking still exists, or if it's been carryover from the workshop not updating or stuck temp files. If so, it's temperamental to reproduce.
StuKa  [author] 30 Aug, 2024 @ 8:53am
@Helshad Can you confirm that you are on v2.4 of CourseLine+ in the launcher?

If so can you post your output_log from %APPDATA%/LocalLow/Uboat? If it's not 2.4, please try unsubbing and resubbing in the Workshop
Helshad 30 Aug, 2024 @ 8:27am
I have some odd grapichal glitches I think due to the mod. I get huge letters near/around the sub. Cant post a pic here but I posted one in discord https://discord.com/channels/326159516595126274/326160196877680640/1279100033437798440 at UBOAT channel

Hi StuKa
ETA is so much appreciated mate !!:steamhappy:
Kaleu 29 Aug, 2024 @ 1:21am
Danke.
StuKa  [author] 28 Aug, 2024 @ 1:33pm
Hello everyone,

Just updated to v2.4. Hopefully, aside from a more stable mod, the only thing you will notice with this update is more consistent and frequent updates to the Total distance / ETA / speed. These now update whenever any leg of the route is updated instead of only when there is a change to the final leg.
StuKa  [author] 27 Aug, 2024 @ 2:11pm
@DoktorVee Try unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mod in the workshop. For some reason Steam hasn't updated you to the latest version of CourseLine+ yet. 2.3 is the most recent version and the biggest issues you're describing are fixed.

2.4 should be coming tomorrow that resolves the last of the issues, hopefully without introducing any new ones. I rewrote the 2.0 update from scratch with a much greater degree of safety, but want to do at least a full patrol to test it under circumstances I may not be able to predict.
DoktorVee 27 Aug, 2024 @ 1:38pm
I can reproduce the issue only when docked. One leg trip looks good. On multi-leg trip, only first leg of the trip is displayed correctly, remaining legs remember the zoom level they were first plotted at, and the last leg always indicates "10km" and is not erased. After leaving the port, newly plotted trips are fine, but the old "last legs" remain on the map and are updated according to ship's position.

Additionally, after docking, the speed displayed on the telegraph is frozen and not updated anymore (set to last speed recorded before docking), even after getting under way again. The speed displayed on the telegraph *icon* is updated though.

Game version is 2024.1 patch 11, CourseLine+ version: 2.1.

The output_log.txt is here: https://pastebin.com/9JtZ7ah6
burgertanker 27 Aug, 2024 @ 7:13am
No problem :captainsmooth:
StuKa  [author] 27 Aug, 2024 @ 7:08am
@bt if you encounter it again please post your output.log
burgertanker 27 Aug, 2024 @ 4:52am
Can confirm I had invisible course lines too - dunno what caused it, but a simple restart of the game seemed to fix it
StuKa  [author] 25 Aug, 2024 @ 1:23pm
@DoktorVee

Can you please verify that you have version 2.3 in the launcher?

If so, what was the situation when you were setting courses. Where you docked, stopped, moving? Was it a particularly long course? One leg, multiple legs? If you could post your output.log as well, that would be helpful.
DoktorVee 25 Aug, 2024 @ 1:03pm
After the latest update i found that course lines seem to remember the zoom level at which they have been drawn. If you zoom out, they disappear. If you zoom in, they appear as blocky lines.

Additionally, each change of course draws new course lines and does not remove the old ones...
Bucketsmith 25 Aug, 2024 @ 6:36am
Okay, cool! I look forward to it!
StuKa  [author] 25 Aug, 2024 @ 5:46am
@Bucketsmith That is one I definitely want to do, I think the best implementation would be a way to input speed on the map tool button menu. I haven't yet experimented with adding or modifying UI elements, but hopefully will get some time to look into it soon.
Bucketsmith 25 Aug, 2024 @ 5:13am
Thanks man, it's a nice mod!
Is there any way you could give us a tool to show the ETA on other tools? That we can determine when a specific target is going to be at a specific point when we draw out the lines?
Somehow put in the target's speed? Or maybe even if we have the target selected it automatically grabs the speed or something?
StuKa  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 7:49pm
I'm embarrassed by the state this was released in earlier today. My sincere apologies to anyone who had issues. I believe everything is stable now, though still not where I want it to be.

If anyone still encounters issies after updating to 2.3 please let me know. If so, a likely interim fix is to disable the ETA in the config file
StuKa  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 7:40pm
As it is now, the inconsistent update speed is because it only updates when the final leg of your route gets updated. That only happens when there is a change to that leg. So shorter routes will update more often than longer ones. Definitely not the result I want.
StuKa  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 7:14pm
I should be able to get the update speed working normally again early next week , if nothing else major goes awry.

As intended it will update any time the telegraph speed is updated, before I had to disable that it was like Google maps for Uboats :steamhappy:
Delphic Oracle 24 Aug, 2024 @ 7:00pm
Very impressed with the new ETA system. Updating does seem a bit inconsistent, but thus far seems to refresh readily enough (it's an estimate, after all).

Very useful QoL addition!
StuKa  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 4:58pm
@tidal wave

The dock bug should now be fixed. If you are starting a new game make sure you save first, and then load that saved game after restarting. Unsub and resub on steam if it hasn't updated yet.
StuKa  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 4:55pm
Hi all,

Hopefully we are now in a stable state. Thanks a ton to @Leenday and @Bar[29th ID] for reporting issues.

Unfortunately the ETA and current speed won't update as often as intended. I will be able to get this fixed, but need more time for testing solutions. Thanks everyone for your support and patience.
all Christ-like 24 Aug, 2024 @ 4:52pm
Well, restarting the game doesnt help. The line is still not there. And the dock bug seems annoying too. Will rather wait for the fixes. Great mod otherwise!
Leenday 24 Aug, 2024 @ 3:26pm
Your mods have such high quality they're basically an official addition to the game to me.
Thanks for your work!
StuKa  [author] 24 Aug, 2024 @ 9:05am
Hello everyone, new update just released! Please let me know if you have any issues.
StuKa  [author] 16 Aug, 2024 @ 1:12pm
KNOWN ISSUES:

On starting a new game the course lines will not be rendered at all.
Workaround:
Save and restart the game client. Reloading the save directly will not solve the issue. Everything should work as expected from there.
kaster21 16 Aug, 2024 @ 12:31pm
Not working
StuKa  [author] 16 Aug, 2024 @ 8:47am
@G0rgonP0rnstar - If you start a new game you will need to save, close the game, and then load the save.

New Game breaks the mod until the game has been restarted.
G0rgonP0rnstar 16 Aug, 2024 @ 5:28am
This caused my course line to be invisible, tried clearing cache, still doesn't work.
StuKa  [author] 10 Aug, 2024 @ 6:18am
@CyberTrapper If you started a new game with the mod enabled, you will need to save and restart the game to see the course line. For some reason the process of starting a new game breaks the mod until you restart the game.
CyberTrapper 10 Aug, 2024 @ 6:04am
I tried installing your mods. But for 100% realism with a mod without spoilers, there was no display of the course on the map. I put it both at the top and at the bottom.
StuKa  [author] 10 Aug, 2024 @ 4:38am
@Mach1Greeble Someone has suggested a change to this in the past, as well. It's on my list for config options to research. Hopefully I'll be able to dedicate some time to config options for this mod in particular soon. I've been holding off until I could revamp the config system, and that's more or less good to go now.
Mach1Greeble 9 Aug, 2024 @ 10:30pm
@Stuka The compass will do 100m increments in range until it hits 10km then whole numbers. I was hoping it would be possible to do increments past that. I was playing with vector intercepts and i was just curious how accurate i could get it.
kaster21 9 Aug, 2024 @ 4:18pm
okay buddy love me mod by the way!
StuKa  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 4:17pm
@Kaster21

Just as soon as I can figure out how to do that.
kaster21 9 Aug, 2024 @ 3:26pm
Can you fix the bug so this will load into the game the first time?
