On this topic, i have done some rearching on google for an easy explanation on how to draw a parallel line to a course with our current plot tools. But usually i start making endless circles and lines and get lost in the middle.
Correct me if i'm wrong: I could take an enemy course from 2 separate hydrophone readings, draw the line, pick compass, and make 2 circles betwen 2 closer points with the same distance.
Then where they intersect, draw a parallel course betwen those 2 new points. Isn't it?
Could this kind of tool be done like a moded tool? just asking.
Maybe adding some code to the Line tool (like draw a line and if you press CTRL+something it draws a parallel or a perpendicular new line X distance apart).
@Bucketsmith: That's definitely doable, I'm on a bit of a break from working on modding but when time allows, I'll add this in with the next update. Also on the list is an optional ETA on the first leg of a multi-leg route.
Found this (after a fresh start - new mods, deleted cache/etc. Basically, like new) at the *very* top of the output_log file - before "Initialized Injection Framework...."
"Encountered an error during loading of the following asset bundle F:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\494840\3270955106\Bundles\Manifest.json. The exception will be logged below.

The workaround works for me it seems, but just incase this has never been spotted + reported before, I thought it best to share.
v2.5 just uploaded with a couple of bug fixes.
But without output logs of people experiencing the issue, I can't track it down.
Right now it's unclear if a bug related to setting courses while docking still exists, or if it's been carryover from the workshop not updating or stuck temp files. If so, it's temperamental to reproduce.
If so can you post your output_log from %APPDATA%/LocalLow/Uboat? If it's not 2.4, please try unsubbing and resubbing in the Workshop
ETA is so much appreciated mate !!
Just updated to v2.4. Hopefully, aside from a more stable mod, the only thing you will notice with this update is more consistent and frequent updates to the Total distance / ETA / speed. These now update whenever any leg of the route is updated instead of only when there is a change to the final leg.
2.4 should be coming tomorrow that resolves the last of the issues, hopefully without introducing any new ones. I rewrote the 2.0 update from scratch with a much greater degree of safety, but want to do at least a full patrol to test it under circumstances I may not be able to predict.
Additionally, after docking, the speed displayed on the telegraph is frozen and not updated anymore (set to last speed recorded before docking), even after getting under way again. The speed displayed on the telegraph *icon* is updated though.
Game version is 2024.1 patch 11, CourseLine+ version: 2.1.
The output_log.txt is here: https://pastebin.com/9JtZ7ah6
Can you please verify that you have version 2.3 in the launcher?
If so, what was the situation when you were setting courses. Where you docked, stopped, moving? Was it a particularly long course? One leg, multiple legs? If you could post your output.log as well, that would be helpful.
Additionally, each change of course draws new course lines and does not remove the old ones...
Is there any way you could give us a tool to show the ETA on other tools? That we can determine when a specific target is going to be at a specific point when we draw out the lines?
Somehow put in the target's speed? Or maybe even if we have the target selected it automatically grabs the speed or something?
If anyone still encounters issies after updating to 2.3 please let me know. If so, a likely interim fix is to disable the ETA in the config file
As intended it will update any time the telegraph speed is updated, before I had to disable that it was like Google maps for Uboats
Very useful QoL addition!
The dock bug should now be fixed. If you are starting a new game make sure you save first, and then load that saved game after restarting. Unsub and resub on steam if it hasn't updated yet.
Hopefully we are now in a stable state. Thanks a ton to @Leenday and @Bar[29th ID] for reporting issues.
Unfortunately the ETA and current speed won't update as often as intended. I will be able to get this fixed, but need more time for testing solutions. Thanks everyone for your support and patience.
Thanks for your work!
On starting a new game the course lines will not be rendered at all.
Workaround:
Save and restart the game client. Reloading the save directly will not solve the issue. Everything should work as expected from there.
New Game breaks the mod until the game has been restarted.
Just as soon as I can figure out how to do that.
