Hey Art, great ship as usual, will def inspire me to make a compact battleship!

I noticed you used Cylinder 6-way blocks for your cargo extensions, I assume due to lagshot still existing. It turns out that the regular cylinder block also has 8 kl storage but has 10 fewer triangles, and more air space, so possibly better for lagshot protection. You may want to use those ones instead.

ArtemisRouge, the Ballantide is a very impressive ship. As someone who enjoyed the Stratovarius, I was interested to see your new design, and I've been pleased with its performance. The compact design is remarkably efficient=)

Overall, the Ballantide is a well-designed and effective battleship. It's a worthy successor to the Stratovarius

If you liked this ship but want something that Mounts the new ( 8 ) Heavy weapon limit, The Arcadian is that ship. All 8 Manual weapon slots, all mounted at eye level, only 6 blocks targettable blocks tall, heavier frontal armor, and armored weapons. The Ballantide will eventually be rebuilt to accomodate the new weapon limits, but consider The Arcadian to be a replacement in the meantime, it is a meaner, heavier, more effective ship, and can also be brought in as a Core7.

Slight generator red-lining is not necessarily a problem. If a ship never redlines, it's because it has significant un-used power generation ( inefficiencies )... If you can fight for half an hour with minimal damage to the generator from redlining, that is not a problem.

I get generator overload right out of the box. (shild chargig and moving)

It's not an Either or thing... Sentries are easy to fit into any design and add a lot of extra firepower.

So where I would be personally, is 2% recharge, which allows a pretty large Hitpoint shield. But thats because I expect to win on the first go. If that isn't the case, more recharge may be desirable. Keep in mind, if you go 5km away from an enemy OPV, their shield wont recharge until you enter 5km range again, that can be leveraged with a Higher Hitpoint shield to gain significant advantage, even with slow recharge.

I prefer a Higher Hitpoint vs. recharge if you are Manual-weapon heavy, the justification being, you kill them outright before your shield comes down. As far as... What is acceptable recharge? 2% minimum. But it depends what you are fighting and it's also a personal preference thing, most people I know, prefer more recharge than I do, and they are all great pilots.

Awesome! What do you recommend is the shield capacitors to chargers ratio, when installing the additional shield boosters?

This ship has been updated, It has been refit internally to house every single shield extender in the game, As a Core7 this ship now sports an 80k shield, as a Core9, it can go to 180k shield! Frontal armoring is slightly beefed up w/ additional xeno, combat steel pulled and replaced w/ xeno wherever possible, and the ship's cockpit has been modified to give the pilot an even clearer view. This ship is getting a full re-fit that will include the ability to house all 4 large shield extenders, & all 6 medium shield extenders, for shield strengths up to 200k. W/ full blast proofing, as well as a refined cockpit and shaping refit to give even better cockpit visibility. The new ship will be released as a Core9 Variant, and this blueprint will be updated to the new format but as a Core7.

I am using a lot of your creations in my current playthrough and they are all on the point. Great job.
Only one thing which might is only for me, Box naming or maybe color coding would be nice.

But yes it can fit a small fusion core, if you want one. Wall it in near the elevator, and use the opposite side to add additional medium or large shield extenders. That is dual-use space.

There's a ton of 3x3 spaces, it can hold 4 large shield extenders, so you could absolutely put a fusion core in it. The question is... for what purpose? In almost every situation you are better off adding more shield extenders than trying to get more recharge via a fusion core. The ship will go to nearly 100k shield with only the 1 advanced generator, and it's meant to max out around that level. That said, as you upgrade this things cpu, there is extra component space, but pls god put the necessary armoring between devices if you utilize that space, dont turn a carefully engineered and explosion proofed ship into a bomb. 1 Xeno layer between all internal components which explode.
