Actually, disregard my previous comment. Precursor Selection Advanced should still work fine (and better than what 4.0 does). Just make sure to leave all precursors enabled from the new game screen.

Hey all! Since 4.0 now provides a option to select your precursor, I will no longer support this mod. I recommend disabling Precursor Selection Advanced from now on.

could someone tell me which options represents specific precursors?
i'm not too in tune with the precursors' histories in the game so the text doesn't help me much

Hey all! I fixed an issue with this mod that broke the Find Peaceful / Military Application actions for minor artefacts (Ancient Relics DLC). For some reason, the devs changed the event ID for those and that created a conflict with PSA.

Everything should work fine now.

@kroun Yeah, I've been kinda lazy about making an inline script and just copy-copied the event The selection window doesn't update properly when it's just one event.

Though, I'm glad someone was intrigued enough to check mod's code.

No problem. If you want, though, I do believe I can help with optimizing some stuff if you want.
One example would be your selection event, of which you have two identical. Using an inline script in both of these events would mean you wouldn't have to make every option twice.

@kroun Not sure why I mixed Ancient Relics with Distant Stars, but thanks for notifying. The description is fixed now.

As for modded precursors, I might add them at some point, but each one is a pretty considerable amount of work. Unfortunately, there's quite a lot of other things I'd like to do first, so it probably won't be soon.

Hi.

First off, just want to mention that the Zroni and Baol are part of the Ancient Relics story pack, not Distant Stars.

Second, if you at any point want to include the precursors from More Precursors, Forgotten History or Unavoidable Changes, then I can make some scripted effects that can help with compatability issues and such.

Also, if you haven't played with them yourself, then here's some suggestions for names/titles:

Plexian Swarm - Banished Threat / Banished Crisis

Lartia - Time Travellers

Ixardian Corporation - Selfish Corporation

Werediran Signal - Dark Forest Theory

Ezentian Combine - Macroscale Engineers

Volgan Imperium - Ecological Disaster

Admittingly not the best, but whatever.

Quick update note: I've updated the mod to support the precursors that came with the Cosmic Storms DLC. You should be able to select / disable them properly from now on.

would it be possible for an option to spawn the baol or zroni in your starting system ? mostly for the custom systems that start out in a system thats outside of galaxy or they are stuck and the only way out is a wormhole :/

@Kit Carson Haha! I'm glad you liked them. I'm actually still here; I just don't show online most of the time.

I got a little bored with Stellaris so I moved on to other games. I'll come back to it later after a big update or DLC like I usually do. I don't plan on updating this one right away with the new precursors for the Storm DLC since it comes out on the same day as Satisfactory 1.0, but I'll do it eventually. Probably.

In all seriousness this is some really awesome stuff you've published. Going to be adding them to the collection my friends and I will run for some MP games, really excited to try this one in particular because, as you said, other precursor selection mods are a bit jank. Will report back any issues if we encounter them. Thanks again for the mod dude!

More Precursors and Unavoidable Changes triggers much the same way as vanilla precursors. Not entirely sure about those from Forgotten Empires.

@DiceDexter I might take a look at some point, but no guarantee. I guess it depends how they are triggered: if they behave like vanilla, it might be doable.
