Greetings, looked for a mod like this cuz dont want to cheese stress gain.
But here we are, after noticing with the mod nothing changed i decided to look into it myself and found out, you only change some values (some are still vanilla like the officer cooking buff) and the disci/stress modifier only applied to 100% realism, not to normal or half-realism setting.

As a side note, in my experience you dont need to start a new career for data sheet changes, just delete the temp mod files in your appdata folder (Cache, Data Sheets(only the mod files) and Temp folder) It worked for me and my mods with no issues

Please come to our lord and saviour Jesus Christ and please read the Bible and please do not use swear on anything or use bad words and foul words as the lord forbids it and do not believe in evolution as it is a distraction from the enemy to hide our lord and savior Jesus Christ from you and please do not celebrate pagan aspects of holidays and please ask forgiveness and repent to our lord and savior Jesus Christ and don’t glorify the enemy or sin as theses are distractions from the enemy to hide. God from you and please ask forgiveness and repent please to god

Unfortunately it's not balanced
You get all your crew stat (strong or week) in the 2 first mission, then its just a notification simulator to say we have low discipline but it doesnt affect much because we already sorted out all of the wolf so ..
can I safely remove this mod?

Yes I'll be updating tonight and including vacations and food adjustments
CyberTrapper 18 Aug, 2024 @ 4:19am
Are there any updates coming?
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 5:21pm
Both the food variety bonus and the crew personality are on data sheets that require new careers, everything else is Save State compatible.
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 5:00pm
Only if changes to the food variety bonus or crew personalities are made, but I will do everything in my power to make any further adjustments if needed to all the other values and not touch those... From here on out any more updates will not require a new career.
Feivelkater 9 Aug, 2024 @ 4:54pm
I started a new career....
New career every updat of the mod is needed?
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 4:45pm
If you don't do a new career start, the food variety bonus will not change
Feivelkater 9 Aug, 2024 @ 4:42pm
Food variety still give +12 with 4 types of food for me
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 3:07pm
Mod has been updated to address these issues.
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 10:10am
And yes, cooking and playing cards will help control discipline loss.
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 9:56am
@bucketsmith, vacations don't reduce stress they only reset discipline.
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 9 Aug, 2024 @ 9:55am
I was afraid of that, apparently it's a bugged feature. I'll remove that from the mod.
Lanzfeld 9 Aug, 2024 @ 9:21am
I have had a problem. During an alarm condition I had a crew member go "Maniac". He was trying to choke my radio officer. I had my captain try to calm him or knock him out but both options were greyed out. Then another crew member went "Maniac" and tried to choke out my engineer. Nothing I could do. All 4 crew (attackers and victims) were stuck in animation forever and I could not issue any orders to the officers that were attacked. I even cycled alarm condition. No good.
Bucketsmith 9 Aug, 2024 @ 8:53am
I was genuinely asking - is playing cards and cooking now a wanted mechanic to use?

Also, I don't know if it helps but I'm playing on mid difficulty settings, might just even be default mid.
I had the notification that my crew was 99% stressed out before going on vacation, after doing 3 or 4 missions in a row.
The vacation did not drop that number right away.
Once I started on a new mission and boating out of port, the number started dropping.

I'll be spending this weekend getting the values balanced right, that's what takes the longest.
Bucketsmith 9 Aug, 2024 @ 6:08am
So playing cards and cooking is now a usable and desirable task to set?
I should disable the mods removing the cooking skill then!
I've been playing with earlier versions of your mod but none of my crew have really stressed out and revealed their traits yet. I've even done multiple missions in a row.

So I've run into an issue... I can't have discipline decay from 100% to 0% in 30 days because of how time compression works in game. During time compression multiple game functions happen at a faster rate than during normal travel, including it seems discipline loss. There were values in the data sheet I tried to adjust that dealt with time compression and how fast these game functions processed, but messing with those values messed up the game including losing audio.
I may just set discipline loss to zero and adjust the fatigue setting so that the longer you are out the more discipline drops.
BobbySopor 8 Aug, 2024 @ 2:41pm
sounds absolutely perfect for me. at first i was curious, but now you have my attention
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 8 Aug, 2024 @ 2:34pm
I'm still trying to get it fine tuned, I will look into it some more when I get back home, the goal is for discipline to go from 100% to 0% without any modifiers in 30 days. I did update the fatigue per day, and the max that fatigue can climb to... So the longer you are out the harder it will be to maintain discipline.
BobbySopor 8 Aug, 2024 @ 2:27pm
i love micromanaging so the patrol wont get boring, and at first after installing your mod i always had to do something for the discipline not falling. but today i started a new campaign and the base -7 morale was gone and just having enough food kept the crew happy. did it change that much with the last update?
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 8 Aug, 2024 @ 9:43am
They both overwrite the same files so whichever is lower in your mod order will be the one that's used
mosene281 8 Aug, 2024 @ 9:28am
I use ''Let it fall " mod as well. Morale has become a real issue and it adds more depth to the gameplay. it will be cool if the trait discovered will be connected with the morale value. Low morale = bad trait, high morale=sea wolf. Also do the 2 mods overlap or something?
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 7 Aug, 2024 @ 1:33pm
I'm glad you like it I'm going to keep improving it. 👍
Gerfaut 7 Aug, 2024 @ 1:27pm
Now i keep always a eye on discipline.
Gerfaut 7 Aug, 2024 @ 1:25pm
Nice mod, i try it actually !
Ctbb. 6 Aug, 2024 @ 6:52am
I like it great stuff1 Thanks!!

@Opsec

I've only just started my playthrough with this mod enabled, but so far I'm at least having to keep an eye on morale. In vanilla, like I said below, morale was something I could literally just ignore. Then with the Varied Dishes food bonus, morale is basically turned off.

TLDR: So far so good, but I'm only a few hours in.
Hexagoros 5 Aug, 2024 @ 7:49am
@Ax4711 I think the way the mod presents it is more 'real' than the vanilla game. Playing on Intermediate/middle settings, with about 60% realism, I have only ONCE ever had someone panic during a tense interaction - in 25 hours of play time.

Once.

Now, I don't pretend to be an expert on anything related to war, but I think panic attacks would be slightly more common than that. In vanilla, as long as you aren't doing anything purposefully stupid, you can basically ignore morale.
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 3:11am
There aren't mutinies in the mod. However morale and combat stress is a very real thing, WW1 coined its own phrase for it, "Shell Shocked". It's human nature, everyone has a fight or flight response, and you never know how your body will react until it's put in that situation of extreme pressure.
Anyways I reduced the chances for it, but it is a possibility.
Ax4711 5 Aug, 2024 @ 2:32am
Why do you call it "real" ? Were there a lot of mutinies in WW2?
[XIII]Opsec  [author] 4 Aug, 2024 @ 6:58pm
New modifiers would have to be scripted in and added to the data sheet, you can't just add them to the data sheet without the code for that modifier in the game.

I'm not a programmer and don't know anything about scripting and coding, but there are a few modders out there that do.
Mikhail_Filitov 4 Aug, 2024 @ 6:56pm
More a general question about discipline - I've been thinking the big issue with the game is that stress doesn't come from particular events that would cause stress (a leak, detected, getting depth charged, dead or injured sailor, low air, low battery etc.)

Have you experimented with trying to create new discipline or stress modifiers? I've done plenty of small datasheet tweaks myself so wanted to ask if you've figured out new modifiers.
