Well now, this is cool, just happened to discover this looking for something to 'paint' voxel materials on voxels without changing them

@ExavierMacbeth Glad you like it. I'll take a look next time I'm in there. I was having trouble getting the details screen to update reliably before. For now I suspect you might be able to check for voxel with a sensor?

Love this mod. I do have a suggestion though. The status messages that show up on the hud when your close to it for teleport success or no ore found... could those be recorded in the "Details" screen of the block in the control panel? That way we could use something like an LCD mod to display it somewhere else in the base.

That way if we use a multi-ore setup like in your screenshot we can use an LCD screen as a reminder for which one in the array failed to find or & needs a new datapad.

@Rumblestrip its based on the ore detector range. Lower it and it will see the ore. Lower = better detection. It works great with vanilla ore detector ranges.

@KevMeUp i was 10 meters away and it wouldnt give me a data pad lol... to say I could have gotten out of the cockpit and kicked the ore is not an exaggeration. not sure why it did that, I rebuilt both the VDC and the Ore Detector and tried again... detected the Ice 200 meters away and gave me a datapad for it, but not the Uranium right in front of my face

@Rumblestrip The precision (voxels it skips) gets bigger the longer your detection range, so if you have a modded one with greater than 300m you'll miss a lot. 50m is the most precise it gets (which is why small grids working so well I assume). I don't check for power, so I often keep a short range and a long range detector on my ships when I'm using modded (1800 on long, 299 or below on short range for VDC).

not sure if anyone else is having issues with the large grid detectors and VDC not detecting ores when i'm like 10 meters from them... the small grid seems to be working great though

@Kater Lysator I can't change the requirements in a config as I have a number of things defined for it like limiting whats accepted in the container types like VTS Datapads or Datapads + Power cells and thats not in code. I'll take a look next update and see if I can support some of their components without making another mod though.

@Kater Lysator I'm glad you're enjoying it :) Right now you can get as many copies as you want of the original datapad, so deleting them wouldn't plug that loophole. Preventing the dupe pads isn't possible. This mod is meant to shift some work from outside the base into the base or just let people chill with daily TPs. It fully depends on the trash removal settings for balance. If it helps, part of the cost of the teleport is the large amount of ore thats removed from the source. For instance, I created 10 datapads from 1 large uranium ore and got around 200k at base after all that swapping and mining. I then went out with a mining ship and picked up 1.5 mil uranium ore from a similar node. Thats a 8 drill miner too, not the asteroid eaters ya got on your voxel heavy server. I've done some pretty massive voxel edits on official without causing any issues, I'd really consider bumping up that voxel reset time to 120 if you're going for some balance (even without the mod).

Oh and i almost forgot...Any chance there could be an option to change fuel? Just as a config option in the files for server admins, so it could use a different component to make it compatible with Industiral Overhaul for example

Heyho. Awesome Mod...the Ideas for utilization are just flowing atm...so Thanks for that (The GF hates you now...but thats what you get for making mods is like :D). Quick question. How hard / how much work would it be to make the Datapads be deleted upon use? Quick Background: we currently play on a small private server that, due to crazy people playing there, needs a slightly more agressive trash collection. So if we would add this mod, which i would love, we could essentially never leave base again, due to the ability to remine every datapad again every ~30 minutes.

I made another round of updates today for networking, it seems to of resolved some issues with Nanite control and should make any future conflicts less likely to cause a client issue.

It would seem other players on dedicated server can see teleportation Text that appears. I don't know if this is conflict on my side or is it bug in mod itself. Could you check please?

Pushed an update.That should resolve any last Data Collection issues. VDC Data Collection precision is now based on Detector Range (50 best, 300 very reliable, 1800 spotty AF).

Getting no ore detected. Created a new world, creative/experimental, with only this mod loaded. Added a ship and base with just a cockpit power VDC, detector and antenna. Any ideas?

@gl0ryh0und Thank you! I'm currently unable to get a duplicate Data Pad from a single press of the Data Collection button. It protects against that as far as I am aware. If you find a way to recreate that issue let me know. (here or discord). I'll check it out. As far as data pads, I designed the mod around people being on servers or adjusting their local settings (see new image) to have voxels refresh regularly so you could reuse the datapad. This is why it was important to me to have a mining method that didn't place structures at the source location. Official servers refresh 1-2x per day so I figured this was a good balance. That is a good idea on the preview for the destination, I'll look into it in future updates. Thanks again.

First off I want to say Thank you for creating such a cool mod, this is fun without being game breaking. The latest update has refined your work. I have however ran into a problem, and I have a suggestion for the datapads.. Problem: Sometime datapads get duplicated, and processing duplicated datapads caused loss of cells.. This seems to happen with larger range ore detectors. QoL suggestion - Add a bounding box or show box option for where the ore will teleport to. QoL suggestion for data pads instead of destroy all from VDC, simply have the VTM consume them like they do cells.

@Marredone Hahah, wanted something interesting and to be able to take advantage of normal respawns without giving infinite ore. I also just finished my TeleportGateway mod recently so I've been into teleporters :)

@hellby-[OIG] I mark a spot on the edge of the ore and I remove source ore thats in a 50 diameter circle around that spot. Its enough to fully remove small ore patches, some large ones will still have more ore. you'd need another VTS Datapad to teleport that though as the first one will be empty (until a voxel cleanup).

@The Erubian Warlord not right now. I had the dune one running for example and the entire base was pulsing with purple without any clear center point. It was pretty confusing. I'll give it thought though in the future if it makes sense to have a selector or something.
