As far as I can tell, DC teams will still put out fires normally. Make sure you have enough damage control teams to simultaneously repair the component and fix any debuffs, including fires.

Hey uh from testing i THINK (further required) that this mod is making it so that dc teams are going idle during fires and will just sit on the module or component as it burns and constantly just repair the fire damage but never remove the debuff
