@Heyo I think my mod may be what you want: Hunting Grounds: Prey Overpopulation Control .

Heyo, would it be possible to add an optional setting to ensure there's always a predator on the map?

Just scrolled randomly through my settings and THANKS this is awesome, thank you for that update :) I think 10 and more might be nice for some people but its good to have the choice, now I can set it to 3 so there is just a little bit of support by the mod but not too much :)

Thanks for the feedback! I just pushed an update to change that slider from 10-100 to 1-100.

Same for me. I love this mod, but I dont like that constantly animals are going into the map. Something like 2-5 would be much more fun. A setting which gives the ability to set percentages for vanilla animals and the different mods would be great too, so its a fine tuned mix of several types. I know the Alpha series does that for their own animals, but that is one thing that would be awesome to see in the future to fine tune what lives in which percentages on your world :)

is there a way to lower minimum amount of animals? 10 just seems a little on the high end ^^' perfect number would be 3 personally, guarantees something during the scarce winter, even if you have to debate if trying to take down a rhino or megasloth is worth it still thanks for bringing this mod back!

Oh no.

Best not to dig into the details. Lets just say it wasn't a minor thing for them to decide on an immediate ban and full takedown of all his mods.

Original author was banned for breaking RimWorld and Steam TOS, in a nutshell.

What happened to the original mod?

Late to the party, but seriously, thank you for remaking a clean version of this mod.
Vanilla spawn rates are far too slow for my colony, so had been relying on hunting camps to feed them... now, no more. Let the local grounds will flourish again.

always wild predators next pretty please!

was wondering why my colonies couldn't find anything to hunt!! Thanks for remaking the mod Zalijerem :steamhappy:

my god... it was a nightmare having that mod removed, everyone was starving during the winter XD. Thanks!

Good work, Zal! Thanks for saving this from that messy business. My hunters rejoice!

Fair enough too if some of the things I heard were true. Although I will miss the original thumbnail.
Zaljerem  [author] 12 Aug, 2024 @ 6:02pm
True enough, but credit where credit is due, even if the original modder got banned.
John DeWolf 12 Aug, 2024 @ 6:01pm
Ok so it's more of a remake rather than a continuation.
Zaljerem  [author] 12 Aug, 2024 @ 6:31am
This version is cleaned up and is lean and mean. The old version had tons of extraneous unneeded code.

I loved the idea of the original but I had to remove it for the strangest bugs lol. My sanguinophage child couldn’t eat anything with that mod installed. Thank you Zal.

Likewise, my jotan-body half-dragon warriors will cheer your name.

Thank you Zaljerem, my carnivorous colony will create a legendary grand sculpture in your honour
