@reanimated6 try it alone first and then decide if you want to add this mod on top of it. The recommended values are in descriptions of both mods
reanimated6 8 Jun @ 1:10am
<3 I allready started a game with OffRoadGoesBrrrr and I'm thinking of adding Vehicle Class Overhaul to midgame save. I know you say that they are compatible but I'm just worried I'll drive 100000 mph on grass if I do. I'd like for it to stay "realistic" but not like driving on grass is equal to driving at the bottom of the ocean. Could you specify what to expect when adding both OffRoadGoesBrrr and Vehicle Class Overhaul at stock values will be like? =)

@NovaRay thanks!

@Potato Gaming none that I am aware of
Potato Gaming 30 May @ 10:36pm
Is there any errors to this mod? like i want to know if this mod is ok, not unstable and maintained. :steamhappy:
NovaRay 30 May @ 6:07pm
cant agree neither the less man! but keep up the good work!
somewhatfrog  [author] 30 May @ 3:26pm
@NovaRay there's never a great time to update
NovaRay 30 May @ 3:20pm
great time to update man
somewhatfrog  [author] 3 May @ 4:09pm
@Wilburt you can have both if you want, but it might feel too strong. Luckily both mods can be safely added and removed mid run.
Wilburt 3 May @ 3:34pm
so i dont need this if i have vehicle class overhaul?
somewhatfrog  [author] 27 Apr @ 9:46am
@Victor Delacroix same same, you are welcome! :cherrypie:
Victor Delacroix 27 Apr @ 9:24am
This may be in the silly/fun category but honestly I cannot play without it, I hate when vehicles go "oh no grass sure would suck if all my horsepower and torque suddenly went to almost nothing while you are trying to get away from that horde UwU" Thank you for making this mod.
somewhatfrog  [author] 20 Mar @ 3:41am
+ wranglers from Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars! vehicles mod now treated as offroad vehicles by default
+ ATA Jaap Wrungel is now treated as offroad vehicle by default
+ all vans should now be properly treated as standard vehicles (as long as they have "Van/van" in the vehicleName)
+ moved existing default custom offroad vehicles into the code
+ reorganized Sandbox Options
+ code improvements

@xenix :cherrypie:

@Jon Smith in B42 towing offroad was made much harder, the weight of the towed vehicle barely matters compared to B41. Horse power of the vehicle matters the most here. Anything under 500hp will have difficulties towing offroad even with this mod. You can add Vehicle Tuner mod (link in the description) and increase the horse power for heavy duty vehicles. Vehicle Class Overhaul treats vans as quiet vehicles, so it won't increase horse power for your valuline. There is also multiple versions of valulines, some of them are very weak (260hp) if you have one of those, nothing will make it being able to tow offroad.
Jon Smith 28 Feb @ 5:16pm
Can't get this to work at all, I edited all of the settings, added my vehicle to the list and still won't move a livestock trailer on dirt road. I have a 90% condition 6-seat valuline
xenix 8 Feb @ 3:26am
youre hot
somewhatfrog  [author] 24 Jan @ 9:58am
@MAEL if you are using it with Vehicle Class Overhaul or Vehicle Tuner then set thresholds to 1000, 1000, 1. That's about it. Normally you don't need to add custom vehicles, but if you do, you need to add its Base.vehicleName which you can find in vehicle script file of the mod, for instance vanilla Dash Rancher vehicleName is OffRoad, so you add it as Base.OffRoad, mod provides examples by default
MAEL 24 Jan @ 8:05am
pode fazer um tutorial rápido de como adicionar um veiculo offroad nas configurações do seu mod por favor? :(
somewhatfrog  [author] 24 Jan @ 2:05am
@Blue_4Skin_Cheese @Vinwick hey, I just retested with the most recent release of the game, mod functions properly. It might be some error/incompatibility on your end, but Just in case, you need to keep in mind that the game has a mechanic which somewhat simulates the wheels slipping, basically while avoid sharp turns and tree saplings, both will drastically slow you down and won't let you get back up to speed until you fully stop and start driving again
Vinwick 23 Jan @ 6:28pm
Does not go faster off road, tried tweaking everything I could
4Skin_CheeseCakce 21 Jan @ 6:09am
idk used the mod few times until my game completley broke but kinda all cars were slow af off the road or path
MAEL 19 Jan @ 7:33am
Eu uso seus mods e são maravilhosos! só queria saber mesmo como adicionar o veículo que quero que seja offroad, não sei onde consigo os nomes deles e nem sei como adicionar :(
se puder digitar aqui um tutorial serei muito grato!
somewhatfrog  [author] 18 Jan @ 5:14pm
@RunYouCleverBoy maybe some mod incompatibility, please provide more information in the bugs discussion for corresponding game version

@MAEL hello! If you don't use any of my other vehicles related mods then just enabling it should be enough. I would like to make videos but I am doing modding in my free time and I would rather spend it working on mods
MAEL 18 Jan @ 5:03pm
olá! pode fazer um video de como usar ele?
RunYouCleverBoy 18 Jan @ 3:52am
without mod heavy-duty jeep is better driving over offroad
somewhatfrog  [author] 17 Jan @ 1:17am
This mod evolved into Vehicle Class Overhaul
It is possible to use both mods together if you prefer much easier offroading, change the thresholds to 1000, 1000, 1 , and the multipliers to 0.75 0.75 1.25 or 0.5 0.75 1.25 for even faster offroading

I also released Vehicle Tuner mod which allows to increase or decrease the core stats of all vehicles in each category by desired percent from the original values, same change to thresholds and multipliers might be required
somewhatfrog  [author] 14 Jan @ 12:14am
@Marads~Yuuka it is going, already put about 30 hours into it lol

@Rachel L access to meaningful vehicle stats through lua is pretty limited and gets even tighter with MP compatibility in mind. So modding it boils down to figuring out a hacky approach to simulate the desired outcome rather than changing multiple parameters for the vehicle physics
Rachel L 13 Jan @ 5:50pm
Jeez, really? Its soo bad. At least they should limit the speed to a much lower ammount, like 10mph. So it wouldnt bee soo noticable. The vehicles system need a big rework with torque alongside hp, not just hp and accelaration
Marads~Yuuka 13 Jan @ 5:04pm
Accelerating faster while reversing is 100% vanilla fault, it's amazing how badly they balanced cars, from the lack of acceleration offroad that this mod fixes, to how hard towing is, even how it seems easier than ever to flip when hitting something, cars are all kinds of weird at the moment.

I'm hopefull for the upcoming mod fixing towing since I like to play with tons of cars stories and crashes, god speed @somewhatfrog.
Rachel L 13 Jan @ 5:39am
That is what i meant, the acceleration is way higher reversing. Sorry, was half asleep when i wrote the previous message
somewhatfrog  [author] 13 Jan @ 3:04am
+ fixed a bug with towing empty trailers

This should be the final update for this mod unless some other bugs discovered.
No further changes are planned, the upcoming mod will render this mod obsolete
somewhatfrog  [author] 13 Jan @ 2:05am
@Rachel L maximum reversing speed is capped at 30mph, this is hardcoded by the game, this mod at best would increase the acceleration to reach it and not by much due to how reversing works. Roughly speaking reversing has "high torque" which makes it the best option for towing in general

@FoxTheGrunt would be cool if devs also allowed for manual gear switch
Rachel L 12 Jan @ 6:30pm
I think its this mod causing reversing being VERY fast in b42. Like, its faster than going foward. Might be the same thing affecting b41 but reversed.
FoxTheGrunt 12 Jan @ 6:20pm
would be a cool immersive feature if instead of vehicles being just auto affected by the mod. if instead there was a option on appropriate vehicles to switch into 4X4 for better handling off road.
somewhatfrog  [author] 12 Jan @ 12:29pm
@Draegyn thank you for report! I will patch that in the next update, for now you can uncheck the "Towing" in sandbox options, I described how a bit lower
Draegyn 12 Jan @ 11:58am
@somewhatfrog Empty trailers now behave very weird in B41, after your update. In my current run I have a medium sized KI5-Trailer (100% condition tires and suspension). When empty, this thing now slides around like on ice, even with minimal steering input. We are talking full "deja vu"-mode with eurobeat kicking in, if you know what I mean. It's like the tires have no grip at all.
When reversing, the suspension fully squats down instantly. It feels like you tie a brick to a stick and shove it around on a frozen lake, since it moves everywhere, but where you acually want it to go. Therefore trying to reverse it into a parking spot is a nightmare now.
When the trailer is loaded with loot everything works fine, tho.
somewhatfrog  [author] 12 Jan @ 7:10am
@dede loves u the default values provide the best boost possible. It won't save you from saplings though, you also need to learn to drive offroad, sharp turns slow you down, if you were slowed down by either a sapling or turning then it is worth to release the throttle, let the vehicle stop for a brief moment and then start moving again, assume the wheels started to slip and you need to regain the grip, which is somewhat realistic if you think about it
somewhatfrog  [author] 11 Jan @ 1:10pm
@BadMotherGamer thank you!

@WhitePillow thank you for reporting, will look into it! For now you can uncheck the "Towing" checkbox in the sandbox options, for existing saves it can be accessed with "Change Sandbox Options (by Star)" mod, link in the description
WhitePillow 11 Jan @ 12:48pm
this mod is messing with trailers. When im going in revers with a trailer attached the trailer goes under the ground and it seems like its braking.
BadMotherGamer 11 Jan @ 8:44am
As one of the many players who loves playthroughs at the rural cabins, this is a must have mod. Thanks for your work on it. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
somewhatfrog  [author] 11 Jan @ 8:19am
@Rachel L in theory yes, thanks for the idea!
Rachel L 11 Jan @ 7:51am
is it possible to lower (or remove) the effects that bushes and small trees have on cars? they basically make the vehicle stop when they should actually be crushed by the car (doing some damage to the front or rear of it i imagine)
xMizuki 11 Jan @ 4:39am
thank you! didnt know it was in the sandbox options :x
somewhatfrog  [author] 11 Jan @ 4:26am
@xMizuki this mod doesn't change this, the game already provides this feature through offroadefficiency parameter. The upcoming mod will make it more pronounced
xMizuki 11 Jan @ 4:07am
does this affect the damage to tires from driving off road, in addition to the speed/handling? (as in, will heavy duty tires take less damage driving off road with this mod)
somewhatfrog  [author] 11 Jan @ 3:23am
+ now counts the weight of the cargo
+ now affects towing by default (it adjusts the weight of towed vehicle/trailer and its cargo)
+ code restructure for compatibility with my upcoming mod
+ slight performance optimizations
IMPORTANT
B42 made the towing of vehicles much harder even with this mod, especially offroad. My attempts to overcome it turned into the development of a new mod (will be compatible with B41). Stay tuned! Support is very welcome!
Hint/hack: remove the wheels of the towed vehicle to make towing much easier. The game applies the braking force to the towed vehicle unless it has "Trailer" in its name
somewhatfrog  [author] 11 Jan @ 1:05am
@Quilava yes, by default it has the biggest boost.
Quilava 10 Jan @ 8:03pm
May i ask, does default value already increase the speed for off road? Cause i dont want to use sandbox mode, it can feel too tempted to tweak thing easy
somewhatfrog  [author] 9 Jan @ 10:49am
Lanigav default settings is as good as it gets without making it act weirdly. In current version all heavy duty vehicles except VANs are treated as offroad (incl. Rancher). Driving with a trailer offroad is fine, towing other vehicles if difficult, you have to stay in the first gear.

Something has changed in b42 and driving offroad got even more difficult, I am currently working on the update for this mod. In the upcoming version VANs will also be treated as offroad vehicles
Lanigav 8 Jan @ 9:08pm
Ok, sorry I'm slow, trying to understand. What's a good setting for the mod and car to test out to see the difference it makes? I was playing around with a chevalier or whatever and still bogging down hard on off road. I really appreciate any help/response, I hate how bad cars perform off road in vanilla.
somewhatfrog  [author] 8 Jan @ 12:41am
@Lanigav from description: 'Some vehicles are treated not by their type, for instance vehicles with RPM type "van" like vanilla vans'
