Recently tried with no other mods than the SOP mods, kept getting that same line with something about the crew priority mod too. the compressor and pump mod both did not work either

@H3792 With a quick look at the source, the only thing I can see is if you have a mod that does something with the weather or time of day

Hey, just tried running this mod it was not working. checked the log, it appears that another mod may be interfering.
This stood out in the log file:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

@leatherneck6017 yes, it checks first for a diesel compressor, and then failing that an electric compressor. I didn't plan on putting options to keep it simple, no UI, no INI files to read, etc.

You could swap the equipment selection on lines 81 and 84 in the code to change it around. The mods are stored in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Deep Water Studio\UBOAT\Mods and the code for each of my mods is under Source/Main.cs

So on the VII's this default's to the diesel compressor, correct?. Any way to make it prefer electric?

I have checked everything, reinstalled the game and the MOD's files, it looks like your MOD does loads into the game, but my sailors are not performing the task... wired.

@andagor Any chance you could also check to see if we are running on battery on the surface and not enable it if this is the case? I'd prefer to run the compressor on diesel so it doesn't kill the batteries if I'm running on the surface with batteries.

@MikeFoxy if your sailors shedule follows your officer schedule then they will come on and off with each other, solving your problem. [apologies to mod author for off topic]

When you hover over the Hydrophone check button it tells you everything it does including turning on the Diesel Compressor after surfacing.

Definitely grabbing this mod! Also, question / idea for ya:

Would it be possible to make an SOP mod that automatically assigns crew members to officers working a post? Two for engineers, two for leadership, one for radiomen?

The game has the awful habit of bumping assigned crew off of an officer on shift changes if you set the officers to have a schedule, then you've got to manually reassign sailors when the officers get back to their posts.

It'd be awesome if you could make a mod that deals with that little annoyance.

@andargor - I went in to test because I /never/ turn the compressor on and I've never had a problem, then I realized I only ever dive to use the hydrophone. Apparently that does somehow trigger the compressor when you resurface, regular diving and such does not.

So yeah, I see the necessity here! Thank you for making this.

IMHO gyro and bilge pump should be turned on when the sub emerges to the surface AND there are no alarm AND no silent navigation, because both gyro and pump are noisy.

I will put the gyro and bilge on my list, no promises. What would be the conditions for the gyro, surface ON and submerged (including periscope) OFF? And I don't have the bilge in my realism settings, what are the conditions when it should be on?

I would also ask to add the bilge pump and the gyroscope to be turned on when just surfaced. Thanks for all your useful QoL mods :steamthumbsup:
