Ivan is "perfect the way he is"?

Can kill 10 enemies in 1 turn.

I would call that incredibly overpowered times 10.

Looking at the pictures, I don't think Hitman (he is about thge same generation as Raven and Raider, I'd imagine born in early to mid 60's so that would make him about 40 years old) and Red need to be old geezers, as those traits pretty much make these mercs obsolete.

I like what you are doing here, as many of the changes you made make sense lore-wise and also on many occasions they respect earlier JA games. If you are open to feedback, I would like to state that Barry now feels more overpowered with 70 mechanical (becoming a complete toolbox very fast). Then there is MD, in my opinion there is no reason to lower his wisdom. Also, I think Ice's leadership is too high, somewhere about 44 would be more on target, as he should not be more skilled on that than Thor, for example. I don't remember anything else right now, as I disabled this mod for the time being as it feels slightly immersion breaking for me and directs merc selections too much. Still, good work, keep it up!

I have installed this and I can´t see any changes in my mid game. I must point out that I had Mercanaries Reloaded 2 installed (I disabled it before loading this mod). I guess a new game is required?

Barry shows mechanical skill in AIM of 75, but if viewing his portrait during tactical combat it shows mechanical skill at 46, is there a mismatch somewhere?

Haven't even launched the game and this is the first mod I picked to put on. Mismatched stats and lore would have driven me nuts. Good thinking.

@whahappen Also Kalyna's gun uses rare ammo and no extra (7.62) so it must be used sparingly early on. Same with Grizzly who starts with a grenade launcher but only 3 rounds which means it will be mostly unusable otherwise until the mid-game.

@Oscar "Weenie" The game's budget milita-maker in this mod is Hitman Hennessy, who had his leadership buffed to be almost as good as Raider's, even though Hitman is worse in combat. Ice has had the teacher role added and leadership raised, so now there's another option for teaching there as well. Wolf is another good option for a cheap leader too

For MD specifically his teaching skill seems to be tied to him being fresh out of med school - he's had that trait since JA2 apparently. Supposedly others are "eager to learn from his example" because he's so optimistic and cheery. From a purely game play standpoint he's the cheapest teacher you can get with the highest wisdom, so he's the game's budget militia maker, kind of like how Kalyna is a cheap rifle. Just my two cents based entirely on the description!

Kalyna is a terrible merc so her starting with a better weapon makes purchasing her more justified

Yeah, cause then players just hire grunty for a day to get the gun and ammo and build a team from other mercs. You gotta keep such things in mind for balance. ;-)

It is also cause of ammo. 7.62 Nato ammo should be a bit valueable at game start. How much starting ammo is that? 100, 200, 300?

Love the idea but giving any merc an MG42 at game start is a balance killer for everything. Balance is worth more than your authenticity needs. Sorry to say so.
With MG42 already at game start putting cones will be the experience instead of nice pistol gameplay.

Does that really have to be the case for whatever reason you are following here? I don't think so.

I've been hesitant to change the merc value because that's a whole new can of worms balance-wise and I've been trying to balance their loadouts and stats in a way that works with their current cost. Are there any particular mercs you're thinking of? I'll check out the mod

Your loadout changes are very interesting so I keep your mod & disable Balance Loadouts one. Could you also change mercs value? You can take inspiration from the good mod Merc Value Rebalance for that.

If those mods do not touch the starting stats of mercs than there should be no conflict. I may add item changes as well, in which case they would simply override any changes BLGBO makes if placed lower in the load order or remain unchanged if placed higher (I think).

Might mess up the balancing of his mod, but the stat changes in this mod are designed not to make any one merc much more or less powerful than they are, and if that does happen, hiring prices will be changed accordingly

Balanced Loadouts mod already does a great job on loadout part so please keep a version with only updated stats in the future :)
