Good mod, sadly, conflicts with weapon sound mods, you must use vanilla default weapons to this to work properly.

@Caliber And the in-game Workshop menu doesn’t show them as conflicting, right? To add to the confusion, if you create a custom campaign game, you’d hear your custom sounds again. Yeah, it’s a mess, sorry

I thought my game was broken because it kept using the default gun sounds, even with the modded ones. It drove me crazy, but later I found out it was caused by this. Silly me.

Unfortunately I am using another gun sound mod. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3047660642 But this mod is amazing. The ability to have detailed sounds depending on the distance from the shooting survivor is what makes this game so realistic. I wish my mod called rng sound pack: gunfire had this feature.

Unfortunate it doesn't work with custom sounds, love using "lowered gun volume" mods or "silenced weapons", but I guess this could do when I return to vanilla.

@Restless Dreams Well Silenced SMG is supposed to be silenced, but yeah I'll look into GL and Minigun in the future

@Restless Dreams All weapons except for the Silenced SMG, Grenade Launcher, and Minigun are affected, but they can sometimes be pretty hard to hear it seems. I'm trying to figure it out

No it will not work on dedicated servers because gunfire sounds from other players is created server side.

@Desmond It's not, any mod that touches level soundscripts would require manual work to make compatible, including ones that change music. Also, my mod already randomizes pitch 95%-105%

If by "non vanilla default" version you mean "600 plus sounds (weapon only)", then it's great

@andreRbs This feature was present in L4D1, among other Source Engine games
@7ᴇᴍᴘᴇsᴛᴲ I used filtered vanilla sounds trying to mimic original L4D ones
@฿ØⱠ₮Ø₭¹⁷³ึ It does work on official servers, for now the only limitation is official maps
@Raizen I also plan on making a non vanilla version as default sounds frankly suck
