Yeah they broke AI's ability to go between shuttle/drone docking ports in an update sometime at the beginning of 2025. (Bots are incapable of clicking the 2nd hatch to open it).

Added a motion sensor workaround solution to most subs afterwards but this one is old enough that it doesn't have that. Will get around to it at some point.

x2 for AI getting stuck in the shuttles, might be a mod conflict issue but would be nice if they didnt interact with it at all. for now im just going without the shuttles entirely

Not able to reproduce either of the issues with the shuttle, or item deconstruction. Bots are able to enter and exit them fine, and pathfinding for deconstruction works.

I did fix AI standing on the front of helm when idle by setting the hull to 'do not stay'. However I couldn't reproduce the issue of pathfinding, whenever a bot would stand at the front of helm I tried ordering them to follow and they wouldn't stay there.

Alright, well I can also confirm it's horrible with AI. Multiple times they get stuck in either the command room against the window for god knows why, or they seemingly glitch in their pathfinding and auto open the shuttle hatch, then fall down it like an idiot and stay there for a while. Either that, or the game randomly crashes, especially telling them to deconstruct and clean up items, as the game comes up with invalid positions for different containers, or saying that they don't exist.

oh and also "D.C." in red text on the nav terminal screen just tells you that a depth charge is currently loaded, since the depth charge launch button itself doesn't have an ammo indicator.

This ship doesn't have any unusually complex systems.
- Yellow lever outside the reactor room / engineering toggles all power on the ship.
- The white lever on the right of the shuttle bay toggles the door.
- The Yellow lever in the back of the command room switches docking ports between 'input' power and 'output' power. ( Used to draw power from stations, or output power to beacons, or shuttles. )
- Switching sonar was included for vanilla quality of life when not running with mods that allow the sonar range to be upgraded, so the captain can see further ahead when traveling at high speed or in combat or PVP.

- The combat shuttles can be redocked to the main ship, although the 'dock' button dissapears when the navigation terminal doesn't have power despite being in-range. Unfortunately that's not a bug I can fix. However you can sometimes "rescue" a shuttle that is completely out of power by docking to it from the main ship's lower docking port and then switching the charging-dock lever to output to partially recharge it, then dock back inside.

So.. what does this ship actually do? Trying it with some buddies, but there's very little actual information, like there's a "Thermal Tolerance" lever by the reactor for example, and flipping it seems to do literally nothing. The reactor shutdown is obvious, the cameras in the nav terminal don't seem to make sense, it's just the position of where your navigating from, and I have literally no idea why you wouldn't just go with the center of mass.

I like the design, I like the amount of storage, even the drones although it seems you can't re-dock them so those are one time use, but there is lots on the sub that seems crucial that isn't talked about anywhere.

i have your meanful upgrades mod installed is just lvl 2 battery cap on this sub and nothing happened.... still 1k batterpower am i missing somthing? main battery is still at 8k

Yup, the door didn't seem to be there. I did have to dock and recover shuttle to fix it, but as long as it can be fixed, I got no complaints.

Submarine walls still have structure collision even when they're at 0 health, so there's no way for the door functionality to break from hull damage. However it is likely that if the sub crashed into the floor afterwards the door could be wedged through the hull.

I'm assuming you've already tried toggling the door, and it's open but won't close. Swim outside and check if the door is fully opened or if it's stuck partially open, or if the door is even present at all and hasn't fallen off the sub. You may have to dock at a station and 'recover shuttle' to fix.

I've run into a minor thing where the bay door switch is blinking, and the bay doors themselves won't close. Any idea what it might be? I'm hoping it wasn't form me accidentally launching the railgun on one of the pods while I was still docked. XP

The two suit lockers near the shuttle pods are unpowered due to a missing wire.
This is an easy fix in-game with a single wire connecting two relays left of the lockers.

old problems (with bot rolepoints, ladder, doors, a bunch of unnecessary containers) I was able to fix myself
but the problem with the engine (when standing still the ship sways from side to side) I couldn't fix it + the compartment under the command post is very problematic

Maybe design an assault ship with a retractable super-heavy gun as the theme? Similar to the RFR model of the R-29 Hammerhead, I really like your design of the super-heavy railgun and the super-heavy double-barreled automatic cannon. , the destructive firepower is to my liking.
