I also can't figure out how to make graphiteware. I have graphite boulders, but it says it needs a bar or powder, but I can't make a bar or powder in any workshop. I did a content search in all my installed mods, including all the mods suggested on this page, which I also installed, but the word graphite only appears in this mod's reaction files and none other, and it only contains the two options to make the clay from bar or powder.

It doesn't seem like the purify clay reaction is working at all. The dwarf brings 3 boulders of silty clay, a bucket of milk of lime and an empty bag and then nothing is produced, used or altered.

I figured out that I can make the output stockpile accept ALL stones and it seems to be working. Also I noticed that all of the new pottery types are present when specifying the type for a furniture stockpile, it's just the clay types missing from 'other stones'.

I'm having the same problem as gisaku33 and can't figure out a workaround using stockpiles. I'm trying to set up:
Stockpile1 -> kiln1 -> stockpile2 -> kiln2
Stockpile1 and stockpile2 both have stone -> clay -> clay enabled and nothing else.
Stockpile1 takes from anywhere and is full of vanilla clay.
Kiln1 takes from stockpile1 and gives to stockpile2.
Stockpile2 only takes from specific places.

Nothing ever makes it to stockpile2, the potter just stands there turning clay back and forth between terracotta and redware. I think some stockpile options might be missing, I see bone clay and bone ceramic but nothing else.

Unfortunately, there are game engine restrictions. I wanted to make it possible to use any clay to prepare other clays, and there is no 'forbid x' option. You can manage that issue by restricting input and output stockpiles for the workshop

Unfortunately, the game engine does not recognize them as clay - look under the stone.

I can't find terracotta clay anywhere in the stockpile menu, and the preparation recipe for it seems to also take already prepared terracotta clay instead of just regular clay so the dwarves will craft it in circles.

@MafiaNation
I reviewed the Ceramics Expanded and it is 95% compatible. You will be not able to make a bone porcelain clay from clays in my mod and vice versa but all rest (including glazes and additional items crafting) looks fine. So give both mods at once a try ;-)
If you will encounter major issue give me a shout maybe something can be done on my side to address it.

@niemst
im guessing this is not compatible with ceramics expanded? or does it change too much?

@Nilserrich
Yo make blackware clay you need:
any earthware clay (like one u could dig from ground) - it my be show by game as a stone
a 1/3 of ash bar
oil in container

That said I think I did had an issue here. now should be fixed

@MafiaNation
thx, fixed

The compatibility section that states the synergies between 'sand and clay anywhere', is no longer available or the link is not working. May take it out or find a replacement!

I am struggling to make Blackware Clay for some reason. It cancels jobs with the message that “ROCK” is missing. If I want to do the job manually in the workshop it also says that just rock is missing. What does that mean? I thought I only needed clay and plant oil. Neither in the description nor ingame can I find out which stone I need or is this possibly a bug?

I also use Advanced Agriculture. Is it possible that there are problems? Maybe also regarding the vegetable oil or something?
