I made it a new mod for V68 called More Houses since half of the new house shapes are not 'round' technically.
Emi  [author] 13 Feb @ 1:09am
OK I lied. Mialbowy and I decided to check it out, and he fixed it up for ***one*** house. I put it on mod.io if you're interested:
https://mod.io/g/songsofsyx/m/roundhouses-v68

It's not on steam **yet** because I don't want people to use it and have steam update it when I fix the other houses - breaking their saves. That would suck! Mod.io just has the zip file, so you'll need to put it in %AppData%/songsofsyx/mods/ and have the unzipped folder "roundhouses" in there.

I'll fix the other houses once I can. Bonus side effect, V68 didn't have any crash to desktop bug (that I could find).

What a pity. I liked your mod... I was reading the 3 pages of the comments here... I was woendering... if you can make it work past v68, instead of fixing it proper, you could either try the octagon thingy, or, when building those house, give the user a screen with the tip of what to avoid... perhaps add an outline? i dunno. I haven't played SoS since Project Zomboid b42 realease, so I kinda forgot what the UI looks like already.

Yeah it's a serious bug, and I know *where* the code is going wrong for it, but I have no idea how to fix it. I basically have two options. Leave the mod up as it is or remove it from the steam workshop, and... I'll leave it up for all the people who think avoiding that bug by not overlapping houses acceptable. V68 will break this mod so thoroughly with Jake's changes to housing that I probably won't update it for V68 unless it is very easy because I'll have to recreate the mod from scratch.

Cool mod, but a CTD bug is very serious.

Great mod! should be in base game tbh
Faraday 10 Dec, 2024 @ 8:48am
yeah i found a house that looks glitched with intersection/overlab trying to delet makes the game crash
Emi  [author] 9 Dec, 2024 @ 10:15pm
Did you overlap your houses with the same type of house and rotation?
Faraday 9 Dec, 2024 @ 11:34am
Love the mod but i get a " settlement.entity.humanoid.Humanoid@5e674e62 1 13" crash when using it at some point, cant pin it down what happens D:
Emi  [author] 15 Nov, 2024 @ 12:00am
OK. I see. It doesn't work for V66 and I'm not sure why, so I removed it from the tags and deleted the V66 folder.
Emi  [author] 14 Nov, 2024 @ 2:06am
Just tried it on V67.53 (newest release) and V67.48 (old nursery version) and neither crashed when making a new game with that as the only mod. Can you tell me what version you are using? Where does it crash?
Потный Пегас 8 Nov, 2024 @ 12:27pm
The game crashes when you try to start a new game (there were no other active mods in the list, I specially disabled them), it says "java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: floors". It would be interesting to try, but it doesn't start, sadly
Emi  [author] 4 Nov, 2024 @ 10:37am
It crashes immediately because of the modlist? Can you give me the full error? Typically it'll say *what mod* is unhappy about *what file* being edited at the same time. Sadly there's nothing I can do if other mods use the same files as this mod is already using the minimum number of files possible to make it work:

settlement.room.home.house files:
Carpet.java
ConstructorHome.java
HomeHouse.java
LivingDataD.java
Sprites.java

You'll need to figure out what mod uses the same files and pick between the two mods you want more. If you figure out what mod uses these files, I can add it into the description to note the incompatibility.

sadly it crashes in my modlist bc of some "floors" crash any Idea which could cause it (tbf my modlist is big)

c: thanks

i really LOVE the " real Longhouse", my entire city layout has changed.
great mod!

I might be able to do it if I created like.. "Octagons" and "Alt_Octagons" which would be "different blueprints" even if they are the same shape, so you could do it, but it ... feels like a really bad way to fix... But it'd (theoretically) let you have them smushed together with the same looking blueprint.
Lil Beetle 27 Oct, 2024 @ 2:16pm
Yeah thats what I figured out, I've been using them as you say, no crash yet. Was cute to have them all smushed together for garthimis but not much of a big deal as long I can get round houses
Emi  [author] 26 Oct, 2024 @ 11:38pm
I spent hours and hours with Mialbowy and I trying to figure out why it breaks and how to fix the problem of overlapping "FurnisherItem" objects. The problem is that everything about this system **expects a rectangle**. We were able to make them round and set the corners of the houses to no longer be there, but not without some structural changes to the code.

Sadly, I wasn't able to get a fix, but I can at least tell you how to avoid a crash:

Imagine the house as a rectangle including all tiles. ***Do not overlap those rectangles with houses of the same type and rotation***. In some cases, it will still work without a crash, but you'll never be able to destroy them or it will crash.
Lil Beetle 26 Oct, 2024 @ 7:28pm
Thank you very much!
Emi  [author] 26 Oct, 2024 @ 3:53pm
OK I figured out what you mean. I'm working on solving it, but I don't have a fix just yet. ATM the best way to avoid it is rotation, but if you have 2 houses almost overlapping each other, it'll merge somehow. I'll try to get a fix asap
Emi  [author] 26 Oct, 2024 @ 1:33pm
Huh. I'm not sure what you mean with the picture. Is it a problem with rotating? Or is it rotating it in a mountain that's causing issues? The picture is pretty dark. Can you give me a save file to look at?

I tried making the houses (rotated too) and didn't have issues, but I didn't do it inside a mountain either...?
Lil Beetle 24 Oct, 2024 @ 7:43pm
and Im back again but this time with another crash where it crashes when I look at a particular house *sigh*. I hate that because I love your houses
Lil Beetle 24 Oct, 2024 @ 7:32pm
after testing a bit more, I found out why it would crash. idk how to describe it without an image tho. https://i.imgur.com/Y1oGX2D.jpeg When I placed the top house with the door facing down, it would ALWAYS crash, tried to put it on top and it works fine
Lil Beetle 24 Oct, 2024 @ 6:54pm
Hey, I love the houses but now whenever I finish some of the houses, the game crashes. Here are the 2 kind of errors that pop up:
java.lang.RuntimeException: settlement.entity.humanoid.Humanoid@58f9eda4 9 12

java.lang.RuntimeException: 0 snake2d.util.datatypes.Rec x1:157 x2:164 y1:256 y2:263 null
