I am missing your mod in B42, hoping you will update. Please :steamhappy:

Thanks, and good luck! :)

@Mickmane - Thanks for the feedback. I may look into an alternate spawning method in the future to guarantee spawn rates. Default loot distribution system is just complex and buggy, but it works most of the time. Sometimes issues come up though. Thanks for the info though!

Thanks for the reply. :)

The problem is that all that was changed was the settings for this mod, and it just didn't recognize any change until some random point.

1. Upped from default - no bags.
2. Upped a bit more - no bags.
3. Upped a great bit more - Too many bags.
4. Reduced multipliers - Too many bags.
5. Set back to default (note, this is less than #1) - Too many bags.

So somewhere it didn't even accept the changes, only looked like it in the settings menu. Solution was to remove the mod. :/

I got the same in the game I host just for myself. I will keep the mod there, because I really like it.

I don't think my friend's going to re-add it to the game he hosts for us, he already doesn't like mods.

@Mickmane - Loot distribution is a complex system, and has multiple multipliers and roll variables throughout the vanilla loot system, as well as other mods that add items and pad the tables with more items, as well as mods that adjust loot ratios, etc.

I will likely increase the range of adjustment for drop rates, to allow more fine tuning for various server setups.

Being they are considered a 'bag' and container, you can try adjusting loot levels for bags temporarily up/down to help the overall rolls to be more in line with what you'd like in your game.

Unfortunately, there is no one-size fits all fix for loot levels. You'll just have to fine tune and adjust as you go. Even our test server, which has nearly identical mod sets and settings as our live server had rather drastic differences in loot distribution and required further fine tuning to get drop rates where we wanted them, in the 10-20% range specifically.

Got a new problem; can't change the drop rate to less now. As if it would just ignore any newly set settings. Even at default settings, some zombies have usually around 2 bags.

Any idea what to do about that?
Mickmane 3 Nov, 2024 @ 1:18am
And what if I set rolls to 1 (per zombie I guess), and adjust the multiplier. would 999 be 100% drop chance, and 1 about 0.1% chance?
Mickmane 3 Nov, 2024 @ 1:16am
Sorry for the late reply, didn't get a notification and just came here to check if you had a discussion on the subject.

Thanks for the answer! :)

We upped the settings to far too many, oops, last night we got plenty bags. And yes, it is enabled.

Which spawn rates do you have on your server, or which would make it 1 bag per 100 zombies? We need to tune the drop down now, but not totally disable it. :)
WitheringHex  [author] 1 Nov, 2024 @ 1:47pm
Yes, its the amount of times the game rolls per item to see if it spawns in. If you have loot settings set very low, or use more loot settings to adjust overall rolls, you may need to greatly increase all numbers to get them to spawn in. Are you sure the mod is enabled? Do you see the bags in the Admin Item List? Do you see the Sandbox options sheet show up for the mod?
Mickmane 1 Nov, 2024 @ 12:29pm
Thanks. :) We upped the settings to 200, 5, 300, rest 10 each, but still no zombie yet had anything. What's going wrong?

What exactly does the roll do, like it throws the dice 200 times to see if a zombie has something?
WitheringHex  [author] 31 Oct, 2024 @ 9:35pm
@Mickmane - Our server has pretty rare spawn rates for most items, and you get between 6-12 bags per 100 zombies killed. The reason I included sandbox settings to adjust up or down is because everybody's loot level settings are different.

I'd adjust the settings, and kill a few hundred zombies, and go from there. A 10-20% drop rate is a good point to adjust for. Good luck, and Happy Halloween!

Hiya. :)

We tried the mod tonight, and no zombies had any bags with treats on them (no bags). Do they spawn when the zombies spawn, so those spawned before the mod was activated don't have any? Or are the settings too rare (we set multiplier to 5, but left the rest on default)?

We didn't kill masses of zombies tonight, so that may have been it (we're sorting and decorating our houses mostly, before we drag in more loot).

Going to have another go tomorrow, and want to tweak the settings then. :)

@TAMI - I'm not sure, but that would be pretty cool!

Do you think they will make these a standard thing in B42?

Added compatibility with my other mod, 'Seasonal Items: Halloween!'. Enjoy!

@elspbeth - Must be one of the other mods with some wonky sized models. I'm glad you are enjoying the mod! I will definitely be doing more Seasonal Mods for my server, and then creating a public version for everyone else to enjoy as well.

Currently re-working an old mod that someone else created with a lot of Halloween items, including a working Crystal Ball! Stay Tuned!

I wish I could give this another thumbs up, instead of skirting around the dead I am charging in to steal their goodie bags!! lol I obtained the pillow sacks with pumpkins and decided to use them as decorations, much to my surprise they are as big as small cars, interesting! I hope you make a goodie mod for Christmas!! TY again!

Cute mod to give some Halloween spirits to the zombies!
WitheringHex  [author] 24 Oct, 2024 @ 3:20pm
Mod has been updated with additional Sandbox Settings, and information about adjusting drop rates of the bags and treats. Enjoy!
DragieULTRA 24 Oct, 2024 @ 7:39am
Great mod, but I didn't quite understand the bags drop rolls, so if i set it to 0.1 drop chance and the rolls are default 100, every zombie will do 100 rolls and each roll will have a 10 percent chance to drop a bag? and is there a max bag limit for single zombie?

First! :D
